Little Boy: Moving God to Move a Mountain
A new movie being released Friday tells the story of Pepper Flint Busby, the youngest son of a man goes off to fight in World War II.
Entitled "Little Boy," the film is a poignant story of the child's amazing love for his dad and the power of faith.
Pepper is a little boy with a big heart, especially when it comes to his father, who is also his best friend.
"He's the kid who has the biggest love and biggest faith out of anyone in the entire world and his love is centered on his father," Jakob Salvati, who plays the title role, told CBN News.
CBN News' Mark Martin also spoke with Salvati, a kid whose faith in Jesus Christ helped him take on the title role of this inspiring film. Click below to watch the interview:
"When his father has to go to war he's just devastated and tries everything in his power to get his father back through faith," he said.
Through his efforts to do the impossible -- end a war and bring his father home -- Pepper learns life lessons about God and faith.
"You wanted the bottle to move so much, it moved!" he continued. "Faith is powerful, but if I didn't have faith, nothing's impossible, right?"
The new film about big faith, "Little Boy" is getting a lot of attention at the box office. Bob Waliszewski shares why it's a good pick for families:
Asked about the scene showing Pepper arguing with his brother and being challenged to use his faith to move a mountain, he explained, "Well, he feels challenged and his father -- his love is centered on his father and he wants to get his father back -- and he doesn't want to be humiliated so he really tries to move that mountain."
"And, he's not the mover of it. God is, but he moved God to move it," he told CBN News.
Pepper's faith is something the young actor has in common with his character.
Asked what's next for him, he replied, "Well, right now not anything specific, but I know God will provide."
