I'm confused about something.

you know, the famous scripture.
- Yeah. What about it?
- If God loved the worldso much, why can't we?
- Well, we can, and we should.
- Excuse me?
- We're supposed to love theworld, just like God does.
There are billions of peopleall made in God's image,
who God wants to spend eternity with him.
- Right? I get that. ButI heard this sermon once
about not loving the world,and every time a crazy
song comes on the radio,my mom always says,
"you hear this mess?Don't love this world."
- Every time?
- Every single time and everytime a crazy commercial or TV
show ad I comes on, shesays "not today, Satan."
- Okay. Your mom sounds pretty cool.
But back to your question,
we're supposed to lovethe people in the world
and not the bad thingsthat are done in the world.
- Like what?
- Basically a cravingfor physical pleasure,
a craving for everything that you see, and
pride in your achievementsand possessions.
These things are not from thefather, but from this world.
- So God's telling us tolove the people in the world.
Just not the sinful things people do?
- I mean, yeah, that's pretty good.
See God's concern is that ourhearts will turn away from him
and we'll start loving thethings that are bad for us.
- So in other words,
we shouldn't give into the worldly customs
that go against God.
- Yup. Don't copy theworld's bad behavior.
But instead allow God totransform you into a new person by
changing the way you think.
- I like that. Okay so love God.
- Mhmm.
- Love people.
- Yeah.
and hate the bad stuff.
- Pretty much summed it all up.
- Well, now I'm mad.
- Why?
- Well, you explained that very well,
but I could have figured it out myself.
- So why are you mad?
- People's should title theirsermons more specifically,
instead of saying "don't love the world."
It should say, "love the world.The way God loves the world.
Just don't love the crazy stuff." Okay?
- His word is forever alive.
