- You just clicked on The Super Book Show.
- A show we talk aboutlife, god, and love.
- We do?
(burst of discordant music)
(heart beat)
- Yes, love. Today Iwant to talk about love.
- But, what kind? You knowthere's different types.
- Yeah. There are. Forinstance, I love my mother.
And a lot of that musictalks about romantic love.
- Yeah, and I love sportsand, and funnel cakes, and
I'm pretty sure that there'spowdered sugar sprinkled
on my heart.
- That's what I'm talking about.
Wait, what?
- Oh, what don't you understand?
- The powdered sugar on your heart part.
- Come on, you get it.
- Sure.
God tells us to love our neighbor.
- You shall love the Lordyour God with all your heart,
with all your soul, withall your strength, and
with all your mind.
And you should love yourneighbor as yourself.
- You have answered rightly,do this and you will live.
- But teacher, who is my neighbor?
- See, that's what I want to know.
- I think the religious lawexpert was just trying to stump
Jesus with this question.
- But it's still a good question. I mean,
who are we supposed to love? Everybody?
- Yes.
- That must be the powderedsugar in your heart talking.
- No. The Bible says thatwe need to walk in love.
Or other words, live a life full of love.
The Bible also says that God is love and
anyone who lives in God, lives in love.
Therefore, God lives in them.
- I know, but everybody?
- MJ,
- Wait, hold on. What aboutthe people who hurt us?
The bad guys, and let'snot forget the jerks.
- That's what makes love, love.
- Did you just stutter?
- No. Jesus says to love your enemies.
Do good to those who hate you.Bless those who curse you.
Pray for those who hurt you.
- Whoa. Jesus said that?
You sure?
- Yes, and later on Jesus says,
if you only love those who love you,
why should you get credit for that?
Even sinners love those who love them.
- So another words, only lovingpeople who are good to you
and agree with you, isn't true godly love?
- Yup. Loving people who are hard to love
is what makes love, love.
- So, you didn't stutter.
- Nope.
- All right. When I start my day,
I'm going to ask God to helpme live throughout my day.
- Right. And a practical wayto do that is to be kind,
don't be rude. Be cordial, bepolite, be fair. That's love.
- And I know this sounds corny,
but the world could use it right now.
- I know, people are prettymean to each other these days.
- Which reminds me, I owe you an apology.
- For what?
- For making fun of yourlove for funnel cake.
- See, you get it now?
- No, but that's no reason to make fun
of your powdered sugar heart.
- And that's what makes love, love.
- His word is forever alive.
