A Young Girl’s Unwavering Faith
Meet Narada, a spirited 10-year-old girl from Thailand whose story is a testament to the power of faith and determination. Recently, Narada faced the heartbreaking loss of her father. He was the only Christian in their family, and his passing left a significant void. Despite the sorrow and confusion, Narada's faith remained unshaken.
Narada's mother, though not a believer herself, wanted to honor her husband's faith by allowing Narada to continue attending church. She asked Narada's teacher if her daughter could still come to church, and the teacher's response was a resounding yes. However, life was not without its obstacles. Sometimes, Narada had to stay at her uncle's house, which was far from the church. Her uncle did not support her going to church, making it difficult for Narada to attend services regularly.
After some time, Narada's mother was able to bring Narada back to live with her. On the 100-day memorial for her father, a significant event in Thai culture, Narada made a bold stand. She firmly stated to her mother and relatives that she believes in God and could not participate in the Buddhist rituals because she believes her father is now with God. This declaration was a testament to her unwavering faith.
Despite her own struggles and not being a believer herself, Narada's mother showed incredible support for her daughter's faith. Every Sunday, without fail, she rides her motorbike to take Narada to and from church. This act of love and dedication highlights the profound impact of Narada's faith on her family.
