- [Host] Pat, this is a viewer who says
"Pat, can you explain Psalm 91?
My family claimed itand we still got COVID.
What do we have to doto make Psalm 91 work?"
- Well, you know, the Psalmsays, among other things,
"Because he has set his love upon me,
therefore I will do these things."
And I know "He thatdwelleth in the secret place
of the most High shall abide
under the shadow of the Almighty".
That he goes through all those things.
But then he says "he that set his love"
and what you need to do,
are you setting your love on the Lord?
Do you love God?
And the God we're talking about
is He who causes everything to be.
Do you set your love onthe author of the universe?
The one who's in charge of everything.
That's the secret.
You asked me "what's the secret?"
The secret is "because hehas set his love upon me,
therefore I will"
All right?
- This is Joe who says,
"What do you think about my preacher,
who says he's not into livemusic before he preaches.
He said, 'if you're there to hear music,
then you should just stay home.'
I'd like to hear yourthoughts on that Pat."
- I tell you what I believe in having
some music, which sets the phase but,
you have the so-called "worship time"
in churches, and it just drives me nuts.
If you want to know the truth,
they keep on singingand singing and singing.
You say enough already, let's get into the preaching.
Let's get into the word.
And so I don't know exactlywhich one you're talking about,
but that's my feeling.
I think the songs should set up
what is going to be done.
Then it's a question of hearing the word
or it's an offering of your tithes
and offerings, and what have you.
But they just sing, sing, sing, sing,
for about 20 minutes at thebeginning of the service,
I think is to me, is obnoxious.
- You really feel about that.- That's how I really feel!
(both laugh)
- This is Patsy, who says
"I'm a 94 year old Christian woman,
and I do not feel a peaceabout getting the shot.
But it's reached the point now that unless
you have the shot,
there are things thatyou can't do in places
you can't get into.
Now, what you suggest that I do?"
- Well, I don't know.
You know, this COVID is really awful.
I mean, I can't tell you how awful it is.
My friend, Jay Psicologo, who I love so much,
his wonderful brother diedof COVID at 57 years old.
Now, he was a diabetic,
but he didn't get the shot.
And I don't see why youwouldn't want to do it.
I don't care if you're 90 or 92,
or five or whatever you are.
This stuff is deadly and it will kill you.
So why not get the shot, okay?
- This is a viewer who says,"Hi Pat, my question is,
why do we have to pray without ceasing?
Do we have to keep askingGod over and over again?
I feel like I'm begging and pleading."
- Well, the Bible says,
keep on asking, keep on knocking.
Greek present tense,
you keep on doing ituntil you get the answer.
Once you get the answer, thenyou start praising the Lord.
So when he talked aboutthe importunate the will,
he talked about that.
That was the word of the Lord.
You keep on asking untilyou get the answer.
There's nothing wrong with that at all.
