- [Announcer] The following program

is sponsored by CBN.

- [Announcer] Coming up, a special edition

of Your Questions Honest Answers.

Pat weighs in on theissues that matter to you.

Stay tuned for a showfilled with your voicemails

on today's 700 Club.

(dramatic music)

- Well, welcome to The 700 Club.

Out of control chaos,Democrats in a shouting match

in last night's debate in South Carolina.

The candidates tore intofront running Bernie Sanders,

hoping to keep his lead frombecoming a runaway train.

The big question raised in the fury

will Bernie help or hurtthe Democrats in November?

Charlene Aaron has that story.

- With the South Carolinaprimary and Super Tuesday

just days away, the Democratic candidates

took aim at front runner Bernie Sanders,

targeting his big spending policies

and their belief that hecan't beat Donald Trump

in the general election.- Vladimir Putin thinks that

Donald Trump should bePresident of the United States,

and that's why Russia ishelping you get elected.

- [Charlene] Sanders alsodefending comments he has made

praising Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro.

- Of course you have adictatorship in Cuba.

What I said is what Barack Obama said

in terms of Cuba, that Cuba

made progress on education.

Yes, I think, really, really?

- [Charlene] SenatorElizabeth Warren once again

challenged Mayor Michael Bloomberg

on his treatment of women,

this time pointing to allegations

that he urged a femaleemployee to have an abortion.

- At least I didn't have a boss

who said to me, kill it

the way that Mayor Bloomberg is alleged

to have said.- I never said that.

- To one of his pregnant employees.

- [Charlene] Bloomberg deniedever making that comment,

but did apologize forpast offensive statements

in an effort to put the issue behind him.

- Probably wrong to make the jokes.

I don't remember what they were,

so I assume if it botheredthem, I was wrong,

and I apologize, I'm sorry for that.

- [Charlene] At times itappeared the moderators

lost control, with the candidates

speaking over one another.

Sanders also hit hard on how he'll pay

for his big spending planslike Medicare For All,

The Green New Deal, andfree college tuition.

- No, the math does not add up.

In fact, just on 60 Minutes this weekend,

he said he wasn't gonna rattle through

the nickels and the dimes.

Well, let me tell you howmany nickels and dimes

we're talking about, nearly $60 trillion.

Do you know how much that is

for all of his programs?- Not true.

- That is three timesthe American economy,

not the federal government,

the entire American economy.

- [Charlene] Former SouthBend mayor, Pete Buttigieg,

second behind Sanders in delegates,

made the case that ifSanders wins the nomination,

Democrats will be thebig losers in November.

- I'll tell you exactlywhat it adds up to.

It adds up to four moreyears of Donald Trump,

Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House,

and the inability to get theSenate into Democratic hands.

- [Charlene] Askedabout Middle East peace,

Sanders said the U.S. should reach out

to both Palestinians and the Israelis,

and bashed Israeli PrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu.

- You have a reactionary racist

who is now running that country.

- [Charlene] Former VicePresident Joe Biden,

who performed poorly in Iowa,New Hampshire and Nevada,

has called the upcomingSouth Carolina primary

his firewall, because ofthe support of black voters.

- [Woman] If you don't winSouth Carolina, will you

continue in this race?- I will win South Carolina.

- With all the shouting, it'snot clear exactly who won

Tuesday night's debate,but it's the last one

before Super Tuesday, with more than

30% of the delegates up for grabs.

Charlene Aaron, CBN News.

- Well, what's it say, whenyour enemy's killing himself

don't interfere?

Well, they sure are beating each other up.

Trump won't have much work to do,

'cause they've already done it for him.

Well, in other news, the CDC

is telling Americans to get ready.

The coronavirus will hit America

and it could be bad.

Efrem Graham has more on that story.

- Pat, President Donald Trumpwill hold a news conference

at six this evening on the coronavirus

with officials from theCenters for Disease Control.

This comes as the CDC is warning Americans

to prepare for the spread ofthe virus in this country,

and it could lead to severe disruptions.

- [Nancy] We are askingthe American public

to work with us toprepare in the expectation

that this could be bad.

We really want to preparethe American public

for the possibility thattheir lives will be disrupted

because of this pandemic.

- [Efrem] This comes as thevirus is still spreading,

now up to at leasteight nations in Europe.

Iran has raised its death toll to 19,

and the Deputy HealthMinister seen in this video

looks sick in a news conference.

He tested positive for the new virus.

Here in the U.S., this 3Mfactory in South Dakota

is making masks and respirators

that can help protectpeople from the disease,

but they can't keep up with the demand.

The stock market took anotherplunge on the latest news,

dropping nearly 900 points Tuesday,

losing $1.7 trillion in value

over the last two days.

Be sure to stay with CBN News

for the latest on the coronavirus

as we update, provideupdates throughout the day

on the CBN News Channeland at CBNNews.com.

Pat.- Well, the problem

with this coronavirus isnot so much that it's here,

but because China is shut down.

So many parts that areused in our manufacturing

come out of China, and if that shuts down

it means whole assemblylines are shutting down

with various manufacturing plants,

and of course, Apple took a big hit

because they weren't selling as much

as they thought they would in China,

so that's why the market went down,

and it was a big hit for those who had

some of these high flying stocks.

Fortunately, yourstruly was in a different

part of the market,

which is gold, and gold has gone up, phew,

very nicely.- Wow, how long do you think

this downturn is gonna last?

- Oh, it'll go on formonths, and of course,

once you take away

the manufacturing from these plants,

then it'll take a long timeto restart these things,

and I don't know if they'vehad to lay off personnel,

or what it is, but it's a long slug.

This is not a fun thing forthe United States economy.

Efrem?

- Pat, in Washington the Senate voted

on two major big pieces ofpro-life legislation Tuesday.

Neither received the 60votes needed to pass,

but just bringing them tothe floor was a big win.

CBN Capitol Hill correspondentAbigail Robertson

explains why.

- In this heated election year,

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

wants to put each senator on the record

for what Republicans say areextreme views on abortion.

- They're trying to defend something

that's fundamentally indefensible.

- [Abigail] Senator BenSasse tells CBN News

his Born Alive AbortionSurvivors Protection Act

does exactly that.- This bill is really simple.

It says that if a babysurvives an abortion,

she has a fighting chance at life,

and we have the obligation to make sure

she gets the same care that any other baby

would get at that gestational stage.

- [Abigail] And is needed for this reason.

- Right now all that's really prohibited

is if a baby survives an abortion,

you can't take a pillowand put it over her face

and smother her to death, but you can

walk away from her and put her on a cart

and wheel her down a hallway, and put her in a closet

and leave her to die of exposure

over six or eight or 10 hours.

- [Abigail] But Democratminority leader Chuck Schumer

tells CBN News this law already exists,

and calls the bills extreme and dishonest.

On the Born Alive AbortionSurvivors Protection Act,

Senator Sasse argues this is needed

because under the current law,

while you can't outright kill a baby

breathing outside thewomb, you can neglect it.

What is your response to that?

- We voted on thisbefore, it was defeated,

and there's a law in 2002

that is on the books.- Current law.

- Current law that coverseverything Sasse is talking about.

It's a play to the hard right base.

The American people don't support it.

- [Abigail] Three Democratsjoined Republicans

to vote on the bill thatprotects babies born alive

after botched abortions.

Democrats Joe Manchin and Bob Casey

also joined most Republicans on the bill

prohibiting abortions afterfive months of pregnancy,

but Republicans Susan Collinsand Lisa Murkowski did not.

- We know at 20 weeks, the science is there,

if not earlier, thatthere's a pain capability

of a fetus.- Republicans believe

bringing Democrats outin the open on abortion

will help them in 2020.

Democrats believe these votes cater to

the GOP's hard right banksand argue the American people

will see through that.

Reporting from Capitol Hill,

Abigail Robertson, CBN News.

- Well, we now turn to one of the most

dangerous countries inthe world for Christians,

where an unprecedented moveof God is taking place.

What country?

Iran, where Muslims fed up with Islam

are becoming followers ofJesus Christ in record numbers.

Recently a group of new converts

secretly left the country to get baptized.

CBN's George Thomas was there,

and brings us these amazing moments

from that marvelous event.

(light music)

- On a recent Thursdayafternoon, 20 Iranians

took a flight from their country's

main international airportin the capital city of Tehran

and flew to an undisclosed city.

The journey was filledwith a lot of danger,

but each one of them waswilling to take the risk

for the chance to experiencea life-transforming moment.

For security reasons we haveconcealed their identities.

We have changed theirnames and their voices.

(chanting)

One by one, 20 Iraniansdescended the steps

of this indoor swimming pool.

Men, women, young adults, teenagers,

and a seven-year-old girl.

(applause)

In the water waiting to baptize them,

fellow Iranians Amir and Sasan,

who had escaped persecutionin their homeland.

(foreign language)

- [Translator] Most of thepeople at this gathering

are artists, musicians, some are TV producers.

They are very educated people.

They are specialists from different fields

of Iranian society.

- [George] 27-year-oldaspiring actor, Reza,

among those getting submerged.

- [Translator] I was waiting for this day

for a long time.

My heart was beating sofast with excitement.

- [George] Reza had a difficult childhood.

His uncle raped him when he was 13.

The traumatic experiencesent him down a path

of raping and abusing numerous girls.

(foreign language)

- [Translator] I was a badperson, a very bad person.

I tried to change for a few days,

three, four, five days, but after that

I was worse than before.

- [George] A friend gave him a Bible

and told him about findinghealing and forgiveness

in Jesus Christ.

(foreign language)

- [Translator] I wasexpecting to be in Hell

as punishment for allthe things I had done.

Instead, God forgave me.

I was expecting fire, butGod gave me living water

and a new life.

(applause)

- [George] Reza told CBN News that today

was an important partof his healing journey.

(foreign language)

- [Translator] I felt apresence and unconditional love

of Christ that I was always thirsty for.

- [George] 25-year-oldMariam was joined in the pool

by her sister and brother.

- [Translator] This isan amazing day for us.

It's really nice that we areall together as siblings.

- [George] All 20Iranians were once Muslim.

Many, like Leila, decidedto follow Jesus Christ

after watching Mohabat TV,one of the most popular

Christian satellite channels in Iran.

- [Translator] I grew in myfaith watching Mohabat TV.

I didn't know any other Christian person.

I would call the TV hotlineand phone counselors

would pray for me.

This is how I grew in my faith.

- [George] Mike Ansari,an Iranian by birth,

is director of operations at Mohabat TV.

- 20 people who have joinedus in their journey of faith

from the beginning, watching Mohabat TV,

and then growing and givingtheir hearts to Christ

and then coming here and saying,

I would like to be baptized,

I would like to be sent out, give me more.

It is an anointed momentthat words cannot describe.

- [George] Ansari saysChristianity is growing fastest

in his native land than in anyother country of the world.

More women are coming to Christ than men.

As a result, women are nowin key leadership positions

within Iran's underground church movement.

40-year-old Azar is one of them.

She used to follow the lawsand tenets of Islam to a T.

- [Translator] I was a very strong Muslim,

a very devout follower from a young age.

I prayed every day to Mohammed,I wore the full hijab.

I didn't want any man to ever see my face.

I never wanted to cause a man to sin

by looking at my body.

- [George] Still, Azar says 30 years

of devotion to Islam left her restless.

Like many women in Iranian society,

she felt less valuable

and on the edge of despair.

- [Translator] I alwaysquestioned why Mohammed

gave us a religion tofollow that didn't allow us

to be free and happy as women.

There were so many restrictions

on what we can and cannot do.

- [George] 11 yearsago, she watched a movie

on the life of Christ and she was changed.

- [Translator] I realizedthat I was following a lie,

that Islam was a lie, and at times I felt

those 30 years I spentbeing Muslim were wasted.

But Jesus said he wouldrestore those lost years.

(singing)

- [George] Azar now runs a network

of secret underground home fellowships.

- [Translator] Because we don'thave a church to gather in,

we have to keep our groups small,

not more than five or six people.

We constantly change days, times,

and locations to avoid getting caught.

- [George] Azar watches Sasanregularly on Mohabat TV.

When he's not busybaptizing fellow countrymen,

Sasan is co-hosting apopular show on the channel,

showing Iranian Christianshow to operate house churches

and spread the gospelinside the Islamic country.

- It's one of the greatest resources

we can offer the church inside Iran,

a church that doesn't have any access

to any educational institutions,

any theological schools,any church buildings,

established Christian institutions.

Through these programs, we are mobilizing

and resourcing the housechurch movement in Iran.

- [George] Mohabat also hasa virtual church platform

giving undercover Christiansthe opportunity to connect

with others scattered around the country

in a safe and secure environment.

- We are realizing that a lotof isolated believers in Iran,

they do not have anychance to have fellowship

with anybody else, so we are using

the virtual church as a bridge.

- [George] Sheema is aMohabat TV phone counselor.

She says many recentcallers to the channel

expressed anger withIran's government leaders.

- [Translator] People blame the regime

for all their problems because they know

the country is wealthy.

We have oil and other riches,

but the government doesn'tcare about people's suffering

and they are fed up.

- The Iranians shared withme just how devastating

the sanctions have been for their lives.

More than a year afterthe Trump administration

levied crippling sanctionson the Islamic Republic,

today the nation is in deep recession,

there is high inflation, and the country has lost

most of its value in its currency.

After a few days of Bibletraining, worship and prayer,

the 20 Christians headedback home to Iran,

carrying with them Bibles,Christian literature,

and hundreds of micro SD cards

containing evangelistic material

used to share hope andthe love of Jesus Christ

during these uncertain times.

They knew it was a riskymission, but worth it.

- [Translator] Hopefully, when you see these images

of people getting baptizedand hear their testimonies,

you are drawn to pray for Iranand the whole Islamic world,

because they are lost and need Jesus.

- [George] George Thomas, CBN News,

somewhere in the Middle East.

- Thanks, George, I am so heartened

by what's happening in Iran.

Those people are hungry for God.

They hate the mullahs, thepeople who run their country.

It is a theocratic dictatorship

of a very, very small number of mullahs

that are controlling Iran,

and you know, they threw out the Shah

because of SAVAK, and some of the

abuses of these secret police,

but they brought in the Ayatollah Khomeini

and it's just been a nightmare ever since.

But those people hate the mullahs,

and the young people are ready to revolt,

so we oughta do everything to pray for

those people in Iran.

Unfortunately, when the president

puts sanctions on the government of Iran

trying to bring it into heel,

it's also bringing pain to the Christians,

and that's an unfortunateby-product of these problems,

but if you ever wantto pray for something,

pray for an uprising in Iran,

and I believe, very frankly, that that little group

of theocrats at the top of those mullahs

are vulnerable, and Ithink if there's any kind

of an uprising we shoulddo everything we can

to support it with not only our prayers

but with material andwith the necessary weapons

to make it happen, and I think the

assassination of Soleimani was a good step

in the right direction.

Wendy.

- Well, today's computerand satellite technology

have made it much easierto spread the gospel

of Jesus Christ to aclosed country like Iran.

Imagine what it was like tobe a Christian missionary

in the early part of the fifth century

when Saint Patrick traveled alone

from Britain to Ireland,and singlehandedly

converted the entire nationto the Christian faith.

Well, CBN Films brings thatstory to the big screen

in just a few weeks.

I Am Patrick is a gripping docu-drama

that will be in theaters for two nights

March 17th and 18th right in time

for St. Patty's Day.

(upbeat music)

(light music)

Welcome back everyone to The 700 Club.

We're about to kick off a special edition

of Your Questions and Honest Answers

from yours, not yourstruly, but Pat Robertson.

We're gonna start withthis call from Gloria

from Denver, Colorado.

- [Gloria] Hi, Pat, this is Gloria.

Do you think with what'sgoing on with Iran,

the U.S. and all these wars

and threats to ourcountry, the United States,

do you think this willlead up to Armageddon?

- I don't know about Armageddon,

but I do know that it certainly seems

like it's fulfilling prophecy.

You know, the Bible saysJesus said before I come back,

there are gonna be wars and rumors of war.

There are gonna beearthquakes in many places.

There will be pestilence in many places,

and the nations of the Earth are gonna

rise against the Lord, andwhy do the nations raise?

You read in the Psalms,so the answer, okay,

I really believe, isthat this is leading up,

not necessarily toArmageddon, which of course,

is the battle at the Mount Megiddo,

but I do think that we're getting close

to the return of ourLord, at least I think so,

and it seems like the scripturesseem to bear that out.

All right?- All right, thanks Pat.

Here's one from Kay fromAntioch, California.

- [Kay] Hello, my name isKay, and my question is

I have a nephew, and avery dear friend's son,

and they're both gay.

I am hoping that you couldpoint me in the right direction

to find something in scripture

that says that this is notacceptable to the Lord.

My philosophy has always been

to love the sinner, hate the sin.

So I'm just asking fora little bit of help

so that I have a better understanding.

- You're exactly right.

If you read Romans, theApostle Paul talks about

the last days of thegentile turning from God,

and when he does, God leaves them

up to unnatural passions, men burning in lust

toward men and women toward women.

And it's, just look at Romans, it's there.

First chapter and it talksabout it very clearly,

and I think you're right though.

You hate the sin but you love the sinners,

and I think people need to understand

that there's love.

You cannot come atpeople with condemnation

and think they're gonna listen to you.

So I do believe that we haveto show love in our heart

toward everybody, despite their lifestyle,

that God loves them, and God loves the gays.

He loves the non-gays.

He loves everybody, God is a God of love.

And I think that's whatwe need to emphasize,

but at the same time, he willnot put up with these things.

What did the senator say?

We've dumbed the morality down.

We've dumbed it down, but God's not--

His standards are stillpretty high, all right?

- All right, here's a questionfrom Kay from California.

I mean Lin--- Yes, I'm calling

to ask Pat what he thinks about

a son who's a littlebit of a bully coming in

and wanting us to sign over

our farm to him.

Our farm is our savings,

and the thing of it is he's in his 50s now

and I think he thinksthat maybe he won't have

time to do anything, even though the farm has

down the road been willedto him at our demise.

So I don't know what God wantsus to do in this situation.

We had a lawyer yesterdaytell us to not do it.

We have another son who is mentally ill,

and we cannot give to oneand not give to the other.

We don't know what to do.

- Well, Linda, look, this is your savings.

This belongs to you and your husband

and that money is yours until such time

as you retire, and theidea of some bully son

coming in, if you have to,you get a restraining order

against him, but for Heaven's sakes,

don't give in to him,and accede to his wishes.

Do not turn over your life saving to some

willful son who will takethe money and squander it.

You know, you just don't do that,

but if you have to, geta restraining order.

But do whatever you needto do to restrain him

from that kind of activity,

but whatever you do, don'tsign over your property to him

because it's yours until such time

as you want to leavethis Earth, all right?

- Good advice, thanks, Pat.

Here's a call fromDonna, Lansing, Michigan.

Go ahead, Donna.

- [Donna] Yes, I'd like Pat to outline

what we're not underunder the old covenant,

and what the differencesare between the old covenant

and the new covenant,

and how we operate in the new covenant.

- Well, the old covenanthad a law, you know?

You had to keep the law andif you didn't keep the law,

then there was punishment if you didn't,

so you know, you were sentenced to

live under a tremendous stricture,

but when the Lord came back--

For example, he saidall those dietary laws

don't count anymore, that's for starters,

and then he said I'm gonnagive you one new commandment,

and that commandment'syou love each other,

even as I have loved you, and he said--

He pointed to Deuteronomy, which is the famous Shema,

which he said, "Hear, O Israel,

"the Lord your God is one Lord,

"and you shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart,

"with all your mind, yoursoul, and your strength."

And your neighbor is yourself.

They are the big commandments,

and all that rigamarole that went along

with the old covenant was wiped out

when Jesus Christ died onthe cross for our sins.

Now, there are certain eternal truths

that are embodied in the Old Testament,

certain eternal truthsabout honesty and morality,

and so forth that are timeless.

- And the Ten Commandments.- Hmm?

- [Wendy] And the TenCommandments, of course.

- And the Ten Commandments, rightly understood.

(laughs)

I wrote a book on the Ten Commandments,

and you've gotta understand,

they're there for us, they'rethere to keep us safe,

but in any event, thoseprinciples are there

for all of us, and they didn't go away

because there's one covenantand the new covenant.

But the new covenant wassealed with the blood

of Jesus Christ, all right?- Amen.

All right, here's a callerfrom Toledo, Washington.

- [Caller] I had aquestion about forgiveness.

We know that God forgives us,

but a lot of people want to say that

they need to forgive themselves,

and I can't find anything in God's word

that talks about forgiving yourself.

In my mind, forgiving yourself

takes it out of God's hands and you know,

we can forgive others,

but I'm just confusedabout that whole thing.

- You know, Jesus said loveothers as you love yourself,

and if you hate yourself, then you're gonna have

a hard time expressing love, and so

the Bible says if I regardinequity in my heart,

then the Lord won't hear me,

so you have to cleanse your heart,

and the Bible talks about your conscience

being cleansed fromdead works that you may

serve the living God, so along the way,

you do have to forgive yourselfif you've been sinning,

and you're carrying aburden of guilt with you,

then there has to bea time that of course,

God forgives you, but you've gotta say

I forgive me, and I reallythink that's important.

The Bible doesn't say anything about that,

but the whole idea is thatyou love your neighbors,

you love yourself, and ifyou can't love yourself,

then you'll have a hardtime reaching out to others.

All right?- Very insightful.

Thank you, Pat.

All right, Kathy fromWashington Court House, Ohio.

- [Kathy] Hi, my name is Kathy D,

and my question is do you think Iraq

will ever revalue their currency

to what it used to be like Kuwait did?

It used to be three dollars and something,

and now it's almost nothing U.S. currency.

Do you think that they will revalue that,

and what will it take to get to the point

where they will revalue their currency?

- There are a lot of people who stocked up

on Iraqi dinars thinking they were gonna

make a big fortune.

The answer is to my knowledge,

they are never gonnarevalue their currency.

We pumped a bunch of money in there.

We spent a lot of money,American dollars over there.

A lot of it was stolen, but nevertheless,

Iraq is Iraq, but they'renot gonna revalue the dinar,

so if any of you havegot some Iraqi dinars

stuffed in your safe deposit box,

I think you might justhave a little barbecue

and burn 'em up, all right?

- Oh, dear, all right, here's a call from Judy.

She's from Anderson, Indiana.

- [Judy] My name is Judy.

I was wondering how do youstore up treasure in Heaven?

- You store up treasure inHeaven by helping other people.

As you, you know, you work here on Earth

but you give, for example, you give to the poor.

You give to the needy, you give to those

who are suffering, you giveto the work of the Lord,

and as you do, in a sense, the Lord has got an account

with your name on it, and he's marking up

plus marks on the ledger

in your benefit.

So that's how you do it.

I mean, it's the way you live

will somehow have somethingto do with Heaven.

That's what the Bible says, all right?

- I think of saving soulsas treasures as well.

I'm sure that's part of it.

- Well, of course.

You know, don't store up where

moths and rust will eat it up

and where thieves break in and steal.

But store up your treasure in Heaven.

That's the idea.

If your money is here on Earth,

it's always vulnerable.

I mean, look at the stock market.

We had two big rounds thattook out a huge amount

of wealth just overnightbecause the market went down.

So thieves can break in and destroy,

and the Lord said, you know,

store up treasure in Heaven.

Heaven is the way you live.

What you do with your money now,

use it to help others

and you are looking forward

to the world to come, all right?

- All right, greatanswer, great round one.

Well, coming up, round two

of our special edition ofYour Questions Honest Answers,

so don't go away.

We'll be right back.

- Welcome back to a special edition

of Your Questions Honest Answers,

and we're gonna go right toit with Maggie's question,

and she's from Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Hi, Maggie.

- [Maggie] I just wanted to know why

God would allow this locust herd in Africa

to kill the food off.

- I think she said the locusts in Africa,

why would God allow the locusts to kill

all the food off in Africa?

- I don't think you can blame that on God.

I mean, this is a natural phenomena,

and unfortunately, it'sone of those plagues

that you find in the Bible.

The plagues come on people,

and there was a question of climate

and a question of the drynessof the soil and so forth,

and these locusts just proliferated.

I don't see, why did God allow it?

I can't say, I don't know that--

You say why did God allow any disaster,

and you know, it's a shamethat we blame God for stuff.

We call it a--- Act of God.

- Act of God, that'sright, it's an act of God.

Well, there was a hurricane,it was an act of God.

A tornado's an act of God.

Locusts is an act of God.

Well, God didn't send the locusts,

it's part of the natural process

of this Earth we liveon, and unfortunately,

it just happened, buthe's gonna bring about--

You know, the Lord prophesied

that we would have faminebefore he comes back again,

and this, I think is going to be a famine

of terrible proportions thatshould move all of our hearts,

and we oughta be able to helppeople as much as we can.

But the Lord was sayingbefore he comes back,

there are going to be famines.

There are going to be earthquakes.

There are going to bepestilence in various places,

and you know, and this isthe beginning of sorrows.

And then he said well, this gospel of the king

that was preached in allthe word for the ill,

witness that the end was gonna come.

So this is a, in myopinion, it's a warm-up

to the greatest event of all.

Maranatha, even so come Lord Jesus, okay?

- All right, we've got another caller now,

Amy from Asheville, North Carolina.

Amy?- When we go to the Rapture,

do our animals go with us?

- Well, could you hear that?

Said what?- Do animals

go in the Rapture?- Do animals

go up in the Rapture?

- I don't think so.

Horses do.

(laughter)

But not dogs.

No, I know, you know,I've had so many dogs.

I train dogs, I lovedogs, and I love horses.

We're told about the Lordcoming back on a white horse,

but I don't know about animals in Heaven.

I know that the soul of theanimal goes down into the Earth.

The soul of man risesup to be with the Lord.

- You know, we have two dogs,

and they both have suchdifferent personalities,

and my husband is so close to his dogs,

and I know he wishes thathe was gonna see 'em again.

- Well, I'm afraid to tell you that

I have had so many dogs, you can't even believe it,

and I really, I know how to train dogs.

I work with dogs, I can talk to dogs,

and I can understand dogs,

but they're not gonna be in Heaven,

I don't believe, all right?

- All right, we've got another caller,

Bonnie from Atlanta, Georgia.

- [Bonnie] My question iswhat does fear of the Lord

mean in the Bible?

I couldn't answer my girlfriend correctly.

I don't like my answer thatfear isn't always the boogeyman.

And yet we are wonderfullyand fearfully made.

Could you please explain the difference

in the meanings?

- We're told to do two things.

We're supposed to love the Lord, our God,

and the name of the Lordin the New Testament,

I mean the Old Testament is Yahweh.

We're supposed to love hewho causes everything to be,

and we're supposed to fear him.

Well, what do you fear?

I mean, it's respect, it'snot that you're afraid of him,

but you honor him and recognize

he is tremendously powerful,

and you don't take liberties with him.

That's what we're talking about.

You don't presume on God, you don't think

he's just an old sucker who lives

in some house up in Heaven.

He's in a rocking chair, kind of a sleepy old man.

He is a powerful force.

He created the Earth, and we should recognize,

and that's what the fear of the Lord is,

to recognize how powerful he is.

He created everything, andhe has extraordinary power.

And the whole Earth cameto be because of his power,

and so we don't take liberties with him.

That's what we're talking about.

We recognize, as we walk before him,

just like you know, you'd want a child to

kind of fear his father,

not to be a scary guy.

I want my children to come running to me

and throw their arms aroundme and say Daddy, you're home,

but at the same time Iwant them to recognize

if I say Johnny, it'stime for you to go to bed,

or you stop picking on your little sister,

and he disobeys me, I'm gonna whack him.

That's what the fear of the Lord is,

recognizing his power, okay?

- That's right, all right,here's a call from Sharon

from Tennessee.

- [Sharon] I wanted toknow how you came up

with The 700 Club.

Why was it called The 700 Club?

- A long time ago, Sharon,

when we were in the early days of CBN,

I was adding up how muchmoney we needed to operate,

and we determined thatif we had 700 people

who would give $10 a month,

that would be $7000 andthat would take care

of our monthly budget.

Well, of course rightnow that would probably

take care of 10 seconds of our time,

but in those days, andso we had a telethon,

and we called it the 700 Club Telethon,

and I used the term clubbecause it sounded kind of

upscale and so forth,so it was The 700 Club,

and it sounded like 007, you know,

the man who was the--- Yeah.

The spy.- The spy,

and we named it 700 Club,

and then we had a telethonwhere the power of God

moved in such a fabulous way,

and out of that came a program

that you've been watching for years,

and it's an interactive program

where people can callfor prayer and so forth.

But that's where it came from.

700.- Did you ever once

think about changing the name?

- Oh no, it was too good.

(laughing)

It really is, I mean, this is our trademark

and it's done very well.- It sure has.

It's done great.- If we only had

700 people giving $10 a month, I say

we couldn't operate morethan a couple minutes,

so all right.- That's right.

All right, well, Rose and David

are from Oak Harbor, Washingtonand they have this call.

- [Rose] Dear Pat, my husband and I

have a question about potluck.

Where in the Bible doesit say that it is okay

to have potluck on Sunday

in the same room that we worship?

In 1st Corinthians 11:34 it says

that if a man is hungry, let him eat at home.

We think that it is asin and it offends us.

- Well, I think they're having communion,

and I don't think there'sanything wrong with

having a church hall that'snot your worship center

where you have communal meals.

You know, in the earlydays, the Disciples,

they went from home to homeand they ate meals together.

They fellowshipped together, and there's something about

sitting around a tablethat is very significant

and it's very affirming,

so I think that kinda thing where

the members bring a little dish and you--

But it's in the worshiphall, you don't do it

in the sanctuary, and I think

you certainly don't doit during communion.

The idea that you were referring to

is that people would come to a communion

and they would dominatethe communion service

and try to gorge themselveson communion elements,

but they say you oughta do that at home.

Eat your food at home,

but it doesn't mean you couldn't have

a potluck supper at church.

But not in the sanctuary.

I don't think that, youshouldn't be eating food

in your sanctuary.

You have a separate church hall

and that's perfectly all right, all right?

- You're asking for a bigmess anyway if you do it.

- That's right.- Nobody wants that.

All right, we have another caller,

Wanda from Rock Hill, South Carolina.

- [Wanda] We are 70years old, and my husband

is still working.

My concern is for the cash we have

in a savings in the bank,

approximately 350,000.

I feel that it should beinvested in a safe place,

but I don't know where that is.

With the national debtsoaring into the trillions

and credit card debt into the billions,

I'm afraid the futureSocialists will take our money

since the government controls the banks.

Where is a few safeplaces out of their reach?

- Well, I hate to say that there is no

ultimate safety exceptin the Lord himself.

But there are someinvestments that, you know,

the last thing that a retiree should do

is stock all of his money into some

low yielding thing that they say is safe.

That's foolishness.

That's like the servant who hid his money

in the ground, you know?

There are some utilities, for example,

I'm thinking of one that has

all the utility, the license utility

with the state of Florida,

and it's number one in renewables,

and it's just a tremendous company

and they pay a good dividend,

and I think you know, the chances--

When they had the crisis in Greece

and the crisis in Cyprus,

those people actuallycame in and took a piece

of people's bank accounts.

There wasn't any question they did it.

They confiscated a portionof their bank accounts,

and I think the money in the banks

are more liable to some kind of seizure

and also devaluation, but I think

American business, untilthe Lord comes back

or we have some war orsome terrible thing,

find a really substantial,

triple-A rated business

that pays good dividends

and I think you needto get a flow of income

for your money.

You've got a nice little nest egg,

but it'll shrink overthe years with inflation.

So you have it in somethingthat pays dividends,

in a well managed company, and I think

that's what I would recommend.

- Is that a singular stock, Pat?

- Say what?- Is that a singular stock

with dividends, or isthat like a mutual fund?

- Well, mutual funds, you never know

what they've got in 'em

and they take a big fee out of it.

You want to get something that's no load.

You know, Fidelity hasa whole bunch of stuff,

but I think that--

I like individual stocks

but most investors would rather be

in a fund company, andI tell you, Fidelity

has just dozens, dozens of stocks

that are good, and youcan find no-load funds

that don't take a piece of the action

from when you buy them, and it takes some research,

you know, don't forsakeknowledge, all right?

- Okay, good stuff, all right.

Here's one from Michelle.

She's from Chesterfield, South Carolina.

- [Michelle] Hi, this is Michelle.

My question is ifeverything is preordained,

where does free will come into play?

- I don't know thateverything is preordained.

I think the reason thathuman beings are as they are,

that God gave them free will.

And the free will is thefree will they can serve God

or they can turn from God,

and that's what makes us human beings.

But that makes us dangerous,

but at the same time, you say where does--

Everything isn't preordained.

When I was in seminary, I tried to work

on this whole idea ofpredestination and free will,

and I came up with a concept

and you might like it or not,

but it's like a basketballgame, all right?

And you've got visibleplayers who are playing

and scoring the points.

They run up and down the fieldand they dump the basket,

and they run up and down the field

and they shoot another goal and so forth,

but behind them is another invisible team

that is actually controlling the action,

and you know, they are there making sure

those shots go in and that thescore's where it should be.

I think that's what it is.

We have free will and we'redoing what we're doing,

but at the same time, Godhimself is working with us.

You know, work out your own salvation

with fear and trembling forit is God that works in you,

both the will and do is his pleasure,

so the Bible says workout your own salvation,

but it's God who works in you,

and we've got the two.

You have to hold an intention.

If you go to one side, you're into Arminianism,

you go to one side, you'reinto extreme Calvinism,

and you've got a mistake,it's both of 'em.

It's God working and your free will,

and they work together in harmony, okay?

- Beautiful answer.

I've never heard it described like that.

- Well, you didn't goto seminary like I did

and have to work throughthat for years on end.

(laughing)

- I did not, all right, well still ahead,

we've got more of yourvoicemail questions.

Round three of this special edition

of Your Questions Honest Answers.

That's coming up.

(upbeat music)

(light music)

Welcome back to round three

of Your Questions and HonestAnswers from this guy.

We're gonna start withAnnie, Baltimore, Maryland.

Go ahead, Annie.

- [Annie] I have two questions.

Number one, why did Jesushave to die for our sins

to be removed and to have apersonal relationship with God?

And number two, why is Satanallowed to stay on the Earth?

Why does God allow him to stay here?

- Pretty profound questions.

Number one,

humanity had sinned against God,

and God as a righteous judge,

had to deal with it.

He could not allow sin to go unpunished

or it would corrode the universe forever.

And so he made the amazing decision.

He said I'm gonna come to Earth,

I'm going to live onEarth as a human being.

I'm gonna send my son, andthen I'm going to let him

be killed, and you read in Isaiah,

it said it pleased the Lord to bruise him

because we had to havea sacrifice for our sin.

Without the shedding of blood,

there's no remission of sin,

and there had to be somebodywho died for our sins,

and so God said I'm notgonna punish human beings.

I'm gonna do it myself, I willshow you I'm going to do it.

I will take the penalty upon my own son

and he will die as asacrifice for all humanity,

and when Jesus prayed he said,

let not this cup be taken from me.

Nevertheless not mywill, but thine be done

because he knew that we was gonna be

separated from the Fatherand it was gonna be

a horrible time, but he was the son of God

and that was why.

Now the second thing ishow come he lets Satan

just kinda wander around?

Okay, God is all powerful, all right?

And this demon comesalong and he's Lucifer,

and he's the light one,

and he was splendid in all of his ways.

He was the anointed cherub who covered,

and so he says I'm so beautiful,

I can run this universe better than God.

That's what he said.

That's why pride is the first sin.

Now, he stands up against God, and then

the next thing you know he takes

a third of the angels with him.

Now what can God do?

God can immediately movein there and say whack.

I got 'em all, kill 'em all.

Now what would that do?

It would send fear throughout the universe

and no longer would people love God

because they voluntarily love him.

They'd love him 'cause theywere scared to death of him.

And so he said I'mgonna leave Satan alone,

and I'm gonna fix it to a point

where he is going to showhimself how evil he is,

and then when he comes after my son,

I'm going to catch him, andthat's what's happening.

The Bible says one day,an angel's gonna come.

He's gonna bind upSatan, he's gonna put him

in a bottomless pit, and he's gonna

chain him for a thousand years.

So God's gonna deal with Satan,

but he did not kill him because

he did not want people tolove him on account of fear.

But that they would serve him

because they love him, all right?

- That was a great answer.

That was a great answer.

All right, we've got this caller

from Mansfield, Ohio.

- [Caller] I have tosay thank God for Pat,

and I would just liketo know what is his age?

He's having a birthday or done had one.

So how old is he?

- Well, aren't you sweet?

I am coming up on 90.

I have lived a long time,

and my new book iscalled I Walked With God,

and it's a biographical description

of 90 years of miracle power from God,

and I'm pleased to say thathe is still giving me some--

The Bible says they'll bebearing fruit in old age,

and hopefully, I'm workingon a couple of books

and so things are still going pretty good,

but thank you for that question.

90 years old.- Next month.

- Next month, well today's Power Minute

is from 2nd Timothy, which says in Greek,

(foreign language)

which means all scripture is given

by inspiration of God, and the scriptures

were inspired by God andit's good for reproof,

for correction and righteousness,

and the man of God to be completely,

thoroughly equipped, sowe believe in the Bible

and thank you for your questions.

God bless all of you.

See you tomorrow, bye-bye.
