The 700 Club - December 2, 2024

A life of crime begins at an early age and puts a man living by the code of the streets for twenty years. See how he finds a safe house on today’s 700 Club. Read Transcript

Well, welcome to the 700 club.

Finally,
some hope in the Middle East.

The cease fire with Hezbollah

could mean the time is ripe
for Hamas to cut a peace deal.

President Biden's
national security advisor says

Israel and the terror group
are back to negotiating.

Meanwhile, Israel is closely

watching its
other northern neighbor

after Islamic rebels captured
Syria's second largest city.

Chris Mitchell
reports from Jerusalem.

Within the past
few days, Islamist rebel forces

launched a major offensive
against the Syrian regime

and now control
the second largest city, Aleppo.

This is unprecedented
for the rebellion.

The rebellion
never held all of Aleppo,

and it was expelled
from all of Aleppo

because it held the eastern
part of the city for a while.

In 2016, over the weekend,
the rebel forces

continued their advance
further south.

Jonathan Spyer
is a Syrian expert

with the Middle East Forum.

This must surely be
a very major blow

both to the Assad regime
and indeed, I would say

to the larger regional alliance
of which the Assad regime forms

a part, namely
that regional alliance

headed by Islamic
Republic of Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister

Benjamin Netanyahu address
the Syrian situation, the Who.

We are constantly following
what is happening in Syria.

We are determined

to defend the interests
of the State of Israel

and to protect the achievements
of the war.

As of now, I would say
there are not major implications

for Israel,
because all of this, of course,

is taking place
in northwest Syria,

which is an appreciable amount

of distance away from the Golan
Heights and Syria's border

with Israel.

In Lebanon, a somewhat
shaky cease fire is holding

with Hamas's strongest
ally, Hezbollah, out of the war.

For now,
Israel is putting pressure

on the terror group
to make a peace deal in Gaza.

One of their main partners
in crime here,

Hezbollah, has now
cut a ceasefire deal,

and they thought that Hezbollah

would be with them
until the end.

President Biden's national
security advisor says Hamas,

Israel and Inter mediators
are all negotiating again,

and our hope is

that we can generate
a cease fire and hostage deal.

On Monday,
the IDF announced the death

of Israeli American
Omare Neutra, a New York

native taken hostage by Hamas
on October 7th.

Nutrisse death follows
the emotional propaganda video

released by Hamas

over the weekend of Israeli
American hostage Eden Alexander,

who pleaded directly with
president elect Donald Trump.

Use your influence
and the full power

from the United States
to negotiate for our freedom.

Every
day here feels like an eternity,

and the pain from inside
grows from day to day.

At a rally to free the hostages,
Eden's mother told the crowd

she spoke with Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu.

He's that cutie, he reassured me
and promised that now,

after reaching an arrangement
in Lebanon,

conditions are right to free
you all and bring you home.

Meanwhile, the Syrian
Christians in Aleppo worry

they're in grave danger
because of the Islamist rebels.

Now in control.

When we've seen them take over
areas

in the past
where Christians live,

the Christians have been treated
badly up to and including

forced conversions to Islam
and other acts of that nature.

I just want to state that the
International Criminal Court,

they've lived in

these sanctions, they've called
for war crimes trials

against the leaders of Israel

for actions in Gaza
in response to October 7th.

What are they going to call for?

For trials,
for what's happened in Syria?

Here you had Assad.

He unleashed chemical weapons
on his own citizens.

That is a war crime.

Turkey has cut off water
to Kurds in northern Israel.

That is a war crime.

When you target civilians
intentionally, war crime,

when you have this
ethnic cleansing

which is currently happening,

they're trying to rid Syria
of all Christians.

Christians go back there
2000 years

and and there is silence
at the U.N.

and silence at the international
Criminal Court.

The double standard
here is quite obvious.

And we as Christians around
the world

need to stand up to it.

it is clearly targeted
at Israel.

It's clearly anti-Semitism.

And we need to say no,
not on our watch.

Oh, for more on this story,
Chris Mitchell

joins us now
from Jerusalem. Chris.

Could the

advances of these Islamic rebels
in Syria eventually pose

a threat to Israel?

Well, it is
possible, Gordon, which is why

Netanyahu says they're watching
developments cold, say so far.

Physically, they're a long way
from Israel's border.

But if they ever

got close to the border,
these are enemies of Israel.

These are jihadist groups

who want to destroy Israel,
just like the Syrian regime.

And Gordon has lots
of geopolitics going on here.

Some of the puppet
masters are here.

One the one hand, turkey

is behind these jihadi groups
threatening the Syrian regime.

On the other hand,

Iran is fighting
to keep the Assad regime alive.

The reason Syria is a key
part of their regional strategy

gives them a land route
to Lebanon.

Also, Russia is fighting
its ally with its ally, Syrian.

And and then they're fighting
for their own interests.

So it looks like

there's a lot of fighting ahead
with Syria as the battleground

for all these actors.

From an Israeli perspective,
Gordon,

both sides are enemies
of the Jewish state.

And some here are quoting
the late

Israeli prime
minister Manok Bagan.

Back in the 1980s, when Iraq
and Iran were fighting,

he was asked who he backed
and he said,

we wish great success
to both sides.

And, and finally, you know,
these rebels do pose a threat

to Christians there in Aleppo
and other places in Syria.

Why Christians
really need to pray

for their brothers and sisters
that are in harm's way.

It is Israel's
victories over Hezbollah, the

destruction of its leadership,
all the elimination

of all the weapons,
even the attack

against the Iranian forces
that are allied with Hezbollah,

inside Syria.

Is all of that giving an
advantage to this Islamic group?

It's a great point.

Gordon, it really has.

It's left a vacuum inside Syria.

Hezbollah

was one of the main forces
supporting, the Assad regime.

And now that they're out
of the way, very reduced,

fighting force

that did leave the vacuum
an opportunity for these two

Islamic armies backed by Turkey
on their way down. So,

it was an offensive that took
a lot of people by surprise.

But Hezbollah being such
a degraded force really has left

a vacuum and an opportunity
for these jihadist groups.

Give us some insight
into the ideology.

You know, at one point,
it was publicized that ISIS,

was trying
to have a direct assault

on Jerusalem, that that was part
of their core ideology.

They're also being backed
by Turkey.

Erdogan has this dream
of restoring the Ottoman Empire

and becoming some kind of,
caliphate.

Is all of that
in play in this current, crisis?

Yeah.

Erdogan's dream is to come here
to take over Jerusalem.

I mean, this was once
an Ottoman, part

of the Ottoman Empire.

He sees himself as,
you know, successor to those,

sultans
in, in the Ottoman Empire.

And I think the ultimate goal
will be, Jerusalem.

A short term goal, hopefully,

for these jihadist
groups would be Damascus

and the

overthrow of the Syrian regime
that would open the way here to

Israel's borders.

So that's all part of their,

Sunni Islamist,
theology and ideology.

That's what they want.

They want to come here to
Jerusalem, and reestablish, that

caliphate that, that once ruled
this area is Hamas.

you know, turning to the hostage
crisis.

And I just want to remind

everyone there, Americans
being held hostage by Hamas.

Are they
are they now ready for a cease

fire deal, or are they willing
to release the hostages?

Well, there's hope here.

Gordon, about that.

They're
they'll soften its demands

now that Hezbollah
has reached a cease fire.

You know, Hezbollah had promised

that they're going
to continue fighting,

until the war in Gaza was over.

But that's,
they that didn't happen.

So now
Hamas is basically on their own.

But as far as we know,
Hamas still wants their demands

to be met for the IDF
to pull out of Gaza.

They want to play a role
in the future of Gaza.

Those are nonstarters
for Israel.

And as we have said many,
many times,

the three goals of the war
for Israel to defeat Hamas,

not allow it to govern Gaza
after the war

and free the hostages.

And on another note,

Senator Lindsey
Graham says he's been in touch

with President Trump
and has told Israelis

he would like a Gaza cease fire
deal before his inauguration.

He's focused
on the hostage issue.

Whether or not that can happen
by January 20th 20th

remains to be seen
if Hamas continues its demands.

Well, let's hope for peace.

at the same time,
I think we need to be pragmatic.

Is this the potential
for cease fire

for both Hamas and Hezbollah?

Is it just allowing
them a chance to reload?

You know, there is an Islamic,

concept called the hoarding,
which is a temporary cease fire.

And the cease fire
in, and these Islamic terms

is that there would be
a temporary cease fire

allowing both Hezbollah
and Hamas

or any Islamic group,
for that matter,

to rebuild, to rearm

and then strengthen themselves
when they can come back

and fight their enemy
once again.

so while Hezbollah
has been defeated,

in a great part,
as well as Hamas, is still,

it seems, their ideology want
they want to have

a temporary cease fire
and then come back their goals

to defeat, kill Jews
and defeat the Jewish state.

Well, Chris,
thanks for the insight.

And stay strong.
You're our watchman on the wall.

Thank you for all that you do.

Well, in other news, Republicans

and even some Democrats
are criticizing Joe Biden

for issuing a presidential
pardon to his son, Hunter.

From Graham
has more on that story

from our CBN newsroom, from

Gordon.

Hunter Biden face
the possibility of decades

in prison
on a number of charges.

Before the election,
President Biden

repeatedly said
he would not pardon his son.

Dale Hurd has a look
at what changed.

The presidential pardon spares
Hunter Biden

a possible prison sentence

for federal felony gun
and tax convictions,

and is exactly what President
Biden said he wouldn't do.

And have you ruled out a pardon
for your son? Yes.

The pardon goes beyond Hunter's
gun and tax charges

covering any offenses
he committed

or may have committed over
a ten year period

from January 2014
through December 2024.

The move comes weeks
before Hunter

Biden was set to be sentenced,
and less than two months before

president elect Donald Trump
returns to the white House.

Trump posted on Truth Social
does the pardon given by Joe

to Hunter include the January
6th hostages?

A sign to some that Trump
may pardon those convicted over

what happened at the Capitol
that day?

Republican Congressman
James Comer,

who chaired
one of the House probes

into possible Biden family
crimes, said in a statement.

The charges Hunter faced were
just the tip of the iceberg.

President Biden
and his family continue to do

everything they can
to avoid accountability.

Iowa Senator Chuck
Grassley posted on X.

I'm shocked President
Biden pardoned his son Hunter,

because he said many, many times
he wouldn't.

And I believed him. Shame on me.

Even Colorado
Democratic Governor Jared Polis

blasted the pardon,

saying that Biden put his family
ahead of the country

and that the move would tarnish
his reputation.

President
Biden said he pardoned his son

because he believes
Hunter was the victim

of a politically motivated
prosecution.

And that's what Donald Trump's

new nominee to run
the FBI says he wants to stop.

Before his nomination cache,
Patel was asked by Fox News

how he could restore

trust in the FBI
and the Justice Department.

One thing
exposure of corruption.

Put out the documents,
put out the evidence.

We only have gotten halfway
down the Russiagate hole.

The people need to know
that their FBI is restored by

knowing full well what they did
to unlawfully surveil them.

Democratic Congressman
Jamie Raskin told CNN Patel

will just take orders
from Trump.

I haven't seen

what the proof is that
the FBI has been weaponized,

against a political party
or the Department of Justice.

I mean, the deep state nobody's
ever defined it, apparently

just means anybody who doesn't
do the will of Donald Trump.

All of the weeping
and gnashing of teeth,

all of the people
pulling their hair out

are exactly the people
who are dismayed

about having a real reformer
come in to the FBI

and clean out
the corrupted Partizans,

who sadly have burrowed
into senior career positions

at the FBI.

The current FBI

director, Christopher
Wray, term runs until 2027.

If he doesn't retire.

He would have to be fired
by the white House.

Dale Hurd CBN news.

Heavy snowfall and freezing

The Christmas season
is officially underway

this weekend.

Families from our Hampton Roads
community came out to enjoy

the season

I really enjoyed that

the community coming together,

especially around
the Christmas tree caroling.

I really love that.

Also, the aerobatics, so
it's just amazing, I love that.

My favorite part was definitely

all the decorations

Well, in the November election,
seven states

voted to protect abortion
in their constitutions.

That includes Missouri Missouri.

Sorry I have nicknamed Missouri.

That includes Missouri
where amendment

three goes into effect
this week.

CBN's Paul Petite reports
from Joplin on what lies ahead.

In 2022,

Missouri's trigger law made it
the first in the country to ban

abortion after the Supreme Court
overturn Roe versus Wade.

But after November's

vote, abortion is once again
the law of the land.

Unfortunately, the

the babies are going to
start dying in Missouri again.

Passed by a narrow
margin of 51%.

Amendment three enshrines
abortion in the state

constitution

and allows the procedure
to be performed up to birth.

Amendment three is more extreme
than Illinois,

California, New York.

It would be the most extreme
abortion

law on the books
in the entire nation.

Less than 24 hours
after the votes were counted,

Planned Parenthood at the ACLU
filed a lawsuit asking the court

to declare multiple
pro-life laws unconstitutional.

They're going to, after,

some health department oversight
on the abortion industry.

They're wanting to remove
restrictions

on race and sex
selective abortions in Missouri.

So they want the ability
to kill children

simply because they are black
or female.

And then the three also opens
Missouri to women

seeking abortions
from neighboring states

like Arkansas and Oklahoma,
where the procedure is banned.

Things
like this happen in one state.

Don't just impact that state.

This is something that
for so many surrounding states,

especially given

some of the central locality,
it's now

something that many other people
come to that state.

Pro-Life groups
here are now turning

to the Republican controlled
state legislature,

where the new amendment
is expected to be the main issue

when the Assembly convenes
in January.

State Representative
Justin Sparks is ready to lead

the charge.

I'm doing this
because I'm convicted

that I must do this, believe
that I prayed about this.

I considered it prayerfully,

and I believe
that I'm called to do this.

Sparks plans to challenge
presumed House

speaker and fellow Republican
John Patterson,

who declared before the vote

that lawmakers should respect
the people's choice.

Sparks believes
the people were duped.

The voting public only sees
50 words on the ballot,

and after people voted,
the interviews showed

overwhelmingly that most people
thought that amendment

three was about things like
contraception and contraceptives

and in vitro fertilization
and ectopic pregnancies,

and most had no idea that what
we were actually talking about

was unrestricted,
taxpayer funded abortion.

This selected speaker
in this uphill battle,

sparks wants to tackle amendment
three by helping get specific

legislation restricting abortion
on the ballot in two years.

So we would identify what

legislation,
how we were going to tackle

amendment three,
what we can actually do to

completely deconstruct amendment
three from our Constitution

and replace it
with a great framework,

a guiding
framework that would, in fact

outlaw abortion
in the state of Missouri again.

The abortion ban
across America's

heartland has also been
impacting Planned Parenthood.

According to The Saint
Louis Business Journal,

this Joplin, Missouri, clinic
was set to close January 1st,

along with two more facilities
in Saint Louis.

But now that amendment three has
passed, all that could change.

They would

invest in those clinics
because not only would amendment

three provide

abortions
to start back up again,

physical abortions
back up in Missouri again,

but without any restriction.

So any injury or death
that occurs from an abortion,

that provider is now
free from liability.

And when you

when you talk about removing

liability,
a place like Planned Parenthood

sees huge dollar signs
because no,

now they will

no longer be under the threat
or possibility of being sued

for malpractice.

The new amendment
still faces a legal fight,

as a number of state lawmakers
and elected

officials are looking for ways
to overturn it.

But amendment three
is going to be in the courts.

It is being challenged,

and all of the current statutes
that we have in place

are apparently in conflict with
this new constitutional limit.

And the constitutional
amendment,

amendment
three is so broad and vague.

Nobody knows what statutes
are actually effective,

regardless of what happens
in the legislature.

Jacobs
believes the ultimate strategy

to stopping abortion

is creating a cultural shift,
which he says starts

with the church.

What we saw was more churches
than I expected,

raising their voice against
amendment three from the pulpit.

But we also saw a lot of
churches that kept silent, too.

One of the things I think
was also reflected

by some of the polling
that we've seen is how many

Christians support abortion
without restriction.

And I think it's really more
of an indictment on the church.

I believe that,

you know, what we do here on
earth has echoes in eternity.

I truly believe it.

And if we don't stand
for those that

cannot stand for themselves,

if we don't speak, for those
who cannot speak for themselves,

God will not hold us blameless.

In Missouri,
Paul Petite CBN news

that also has impact on the

here and now because
we're cutting off our future.

Well Missouri's attorney
general says that despite

the amendment he's

going to keep enforcing laws
that restrict abortion

especially after
fetal viability.

And I think that's going to
become increasingly a standard,

you know, back in the Clinton
administration, Bill Clinton

voted for a partial birth
abortion ban.

He called it horrific.

I think every American views
this as absolutely horrible,

that you would take a baby
in the eighth nine month

and abort it.

That's infanticide.

And when people look that in,
in, in its face,

they see it
for what it is. It's just evil.

We shouldn't be doing that
here in the United States.

It doesn't happen
anywhere else in the world.

It's just,
you know, even Europe,

which we tout
as some kind of liberal bastion.

They don't do that.

So why in the world
are we doing it?

And it just seems
with the pro-life movement,

was caught flat footed with
the reversal of Roe versus Wade.

And we weren't ready
for the avalanche of either

amendments or laws
that have come

in the aftermath
and and trying to find our way.

We need to stand for life,
and we need to let our voice

be heard from the pulpit,
from the pew and the ballot box.

We need to say no.

this this isn't America,
and you can't do this.

Here we stand for life,
and we want life

and liberty
to be the law of the land.

Terri.

Shannon McNeil saw

things as a child
that no adult should ever see.

Acts of brutal violence
and perversion.

It made an indelible impression
on him until the day

he walked into a church
for the very first time.

All I was after

was pleasing myself
and getting what I wanted.

Whether it was with random
girls,

drugs, alcohol, violence

it really just helped to send me
further and further down

that spiral of darkness
and into it.

I knew
it wasn't going to end well,

but I didn't care.

Shannon McNeil
grew up in a troubled home.

His father left when he was six,

and his alcoholic
mother was either working or out

drinking at bars,

leaving Shannon to be raised
by his two older brothers

who didn't want him around.

I really had the sense
and the belief that nobody,

nobody loved me.

I was in a place where there was
a lot of insecurity forming,

self-hatred,
a lot of anger and frustration

and just really hurt,
a lot of hurt

because Shannon's brothers
were forced to look after him.

He was soon exposed
to their illicit hobbies.

Everything illegal robberies,
running from the police.

There was a lot of violence,
you name it, at an early age.

I was involved in all of that at
one form or another with them.

And as they had to,
you know, just bring me along.

Wild parties in the house,

sexual acts being done, me
being exposed to pornography.

It just became the way of life.

It became the norm.

As Shannon got older,
he began dealing drugs,

stealing and starting fights.

Anything to win
the approval of his brothers.

And he ended up
in juvenile detention

at 15, where he encountered
even more violence and racism.

The experience only hardened
his already calloused heart.

That was that
was one of my lowest moments.

It wasn't a rehabilitation.

It was.

It was more of a fortifying
feelings and frustrations

and angers
that were already there.

I didn't care
if I lived another day.

I didn't care if I ended up
in jail for the rest of my life.

There was nobody in my life
that genuinely loved me.

I had no purpose.

So suicide
did did come into play?

a few times.

It was definitely something
that was was in my mind

and in my heart
that if I could just ended it,

everybody would be better off.

When Shannon got out of juvie,
he went harder into

drinking alcohol, using drugs
and having sex.

Anything to numb the pain
he was feeling inside.

Participating in gang activity
and more rest

pushed him to continue
the destructive cycle.

This went on for years,
until one day he met a girl.

What was different about Carrie
than all the other girls

that I was used to being around?

She had a loving heart.

Considering
I had spent my whole life

wanting something good,

something loving,

something kind to be involved
in my life, this was.

This was something special. If

this was

going to be something
that was going to work out

something.

A lot of things about me,

actually,
we're going to have to change.

But I was so lost after 20
some years of living the way

that I had been living.

I didn't know how to go
about doing that.

I was feeling hopeless again.

Knowing Shannon was struggling,

a friend of his track
convincing him to attend church.

Shannon was reluctant at first,
but he eventually relented.

I just caved.

I said, sure, why not?

Nothing else has worked.

So why not give this God
the God thing and try?

I walked into

this little church and

my whole life changed
in that moment.

I was introduced to
for the very first time, the

the things that I had been
searching for.

Love, acceptance.

No judgment.

You know,
these people genuinely cared

and they didn't
even know anything about me.

Shannon finally found the family
he had been longing

for at the church,

and he soon prayed,
giving his life to Jesus Christ.

Once I did it,

I literally felt like a mack

truck had been removed
from my shoulders.

And all those those walls
and those barriers

that were placed over
my heart hardened

throughout all those years
of abuse and chaos,

was all removed.

I no longer hated people.

I no longer hated myself.

I no longer had this sense of
not caring what happened to me.

All of a sudden now I care.

And the author of
That was Christ.

I knew that
he was ultimately what I needed.

And in that moment, I just
surrendered everything to him.

Shannon committed himself
to prayer, studying the Bible

and serving in the church.

He went on to marry Carrie
and start a family.

Now a pastor at the same church,

he credits
for helping to save his life.

Shannon says it was only
the love of Christ

that was able to shine light
into the darkness of his heart.

I'm just so grateful
because looking back

at who I
was and where I came from to

where
he has me now, stark difference.

Totally. Night and day.

What does Jesus mean to me?

Everything.

I couldn't picture my life
without him.

I wouldn't want to picture
my life without him.

He wants us to come to him
as we are and allow him to clean

you up with grace, with love
and with mercy and.

That there's no one
that's too far gone.

There's nothing that

you could have done

to not deserve his love.

Because it's a free gift
he freely gives it.

And making the choice
to give your life to Christ

is going to be the first step

and the greatest of steps
of your life.

Without a doubt.

Shannon's story is pretty
remarkable, don't you think?

I mean, this is a guy who,
from the time of his birth,

was in a scenario
where everything around him,

every person in
his life was pulling him

down, was telling him
he was worthless,

was reinforcing that truth
that you have no purpose,

you have no
value. You have no meaning.

And he was hopeless.

Completely hopeless.

Had no idea where to find hope,
where to find life.

Until he met Carrie,
until he said, if

there's goodness in this person,
sure, I'll try church.

And so he went.

You know,

lots of times when we are lost,
we just keep doing

the same dumb things
over and over and over again

that give us no purpose,
to give us no meaning to tell us

we're useless.

We're
just another body on the planet.

This is what God's Word says.

I knew you.

I knew you before you were
formed in your mother's womb.

He also says he has a specific
plan and purpose for your life.

You see, the issue isn't whether
God makes himself known to us.

It's available all around us.

The wonder and the splendor
and the majesty of his creation.

And sometimes as close
as a church door away, or one

person away who's shining light
in the midst of your darkness.

Listen today
if you are feeling hopeless

and this season
lots of people do.

This season is all about Jesus

because he is the invitation.

He brought the invitation
to every one of us

to come back to the father
heart of God,

to understand God's
deep love for us, to understand

his willingness, his ability
to forgive our sin.

Doesn't matter where you've
been, what you've done, how long

you've wallowed in it all,

today can be your day
for a new beginning.

How do you do that?

It is so simple.

It's not like

God made us have to jump over
hoops and fences and go through

hard places. He's just saying,
come to me.

So you say this, God,
I am a sinner.

I want to change.

I need my life to change.

And I'm asking you to be

the Lord of my life
and the Savior of my soul.

You have a soul that's going
to spend eternity somewhere.

Ask him to be
the one who takes your soul

into his hand, forgives you,
and gives you the gift

of eternal life.
He'll change you.

He'll change you.

Won't be painful.

It'll be like having a mack
truck lifted off your shoulders.

If you need to pray with someone
today, call our toll

free number.

It's one 800 707,000.

There's a friend on the other

end of the line
who would love to pray with you

and would love to send you
our new Day pack.

And how do you grow
in your relationship with God?

It's all in here.

It's free.

It's yours for the phone
call. Gordon.

Welcome

back to the 700 club
for this CBN news break.

Some welcome news
in a tumultuous 2024,

the Wall Street Journal reports

Bible sales were up 22%
through the month of October.

Overall book sales in the United
States were up just 1%.

The president

of the Evangelical Booksellers
Association said Bible

sales are up

because people are feeling
anxious about the future.

The report states more people
turned to the Bible over

concerns about the economy,

international conflict
and the presidential election.

Turning now to Germany, where
CBN has officially launched

its Superbook Academy,

the Sunday school curriculum,
based on the animated

Bible series
Superbook, offers in-depth study

and activities to help
children study scripture.

The launch was celebrated

at a Superbook event in Hamburg,
Germany.

200 children
experienced the story of David

and Goliath with material
from the curriculum gizmo

and worshiped together.

You can learn more about
what CBN Superbook

is doing around the world
by going to cbn.com/kids.

Esther used to live with her
two children in a rotting shack.

When storms hit,
her terrified son would scream.

Mom, I don't want to die!

Well, today the family lives
in a sturdy house,

and it's all because of you.

Esther is a single mom.

She lives with her

two children near the Amazon
rainforest in Peru.

Every year when the rainy season
starts, her greatest fear

is that her house
will not survive the high winds.

When we suffer a lot
in this little shack,

when it rains, the house gets
flooded and the roof lifts up.

Every time a storm approaches,
Esther's older daughter

Lexi tries to plug any new holes
that have appeared.

I don't have enough money
to fix the house.

The wood is rotting and my
children get sick from exposure.

I suffer a
lot when my little ones suffer.

When the rain and wind hit, my
seven year old screams and says.

Mom, I don't want to die.

Esther supports her family
by weaving and making flour.

Unfortunately, she can only make
flour twice a month

because she has to borrow
a neighbor's oven to dry it.

When Operation Blessing
learned about the situation,

we built the family

a new house with sturdy walls
and a strong roof.

We added a bathroom,
kitchen, bedroom

along with furniture
and a solar panel for power.

I am so happy
with our new house.

My kids now
feel comfortable and safe.

And thanks to you,
we also were able to build

Esther a new brick oven

so she can make and sell
more flour.

All of this is a wonderful
blessing for me.

Thank you.

So many
things we take for granted here

in the United States.

A roof over our over our heads,
running water

that you can drink, access
to a toilet, to a shower.

These things are absolute
luxuries in some part of parts

of the world.

And it's so wonderful.

Women can come in and say, well,

let's make a difference for you.

And in addition to just saying
we'll provide for housing,

we'll also provide
for your livelihood

so you can have the dignity
of earning your own way in life.

It's wonderful what happens when
people get together and say,

how can we really help people?

Not a handout,

but a hand up to give them hope,
to give them a future.

To let them know
that God loves them.

We love them too.

Well, 700 club members.

If you're a member of the 700
club,

you're doing that every day,
all day, all around the world.

You're helping people
in desperate poverty.

Have a hope, have that future.

If you're not a member,
I invite you to join with us.

It's real simple.

You go to the phone and
you call us one 800, 700, 7000.

Say, I want to join the 700
club.

You can also go to Cbn.com.

You can also text CBN to 71777.

We have a variety of levels
you can join at.

You can join at 700 club

which is $20 a month
700 club gold $40 a month.

Thousand club is $1,000 a year.

That breaks out to $84 a month.

And when you call and join it,
whatever level you call, we've

got something for you.

Pray with power 40 days
to transform your prayer life.

This is December,
where all of us are

trying to get ready
for our New Year's resolutions.

Let your resolution
be this year.

I'll pray with power.

I'll learn how to pray
the scripture that way.

I know I'm praying in accordance
with God's will.

And when you do that,

you have every confidence that
your prayer will be answered.

I want you to have it
at your house when you join.

So call us now.

One 800 707,000.

Well, Gordon, this is Dana.

She lives in Prather,
California,

and she has already received
her prayer guide booklet.

And she says, thank you.
This is so simple.

I love how you ask questions,
which provokes thoughts

in my own words
on each scripture.

And that is the point of it,

to take us deeper
into the Word of God.

So we want you to have this.

So call now,

be a part of blessing others

and get your prayer
journal as well.

And since she was amazed

when she saw people praising
God through music.

It's what led her to say
yes to an altar call.

Today more than 30 years later,
she's the one writing music

that's
bringing people to the Lord.

Charlene
there and has the chance to talk

with Santhosh about her career
and her life changing songs.

So. I am
such a huge fan of your music.

I mean, most of us

came to know you by way of this
amazing song.

Waymaker

you promise?

Can you talk about the success
of that song?

I mean, it's
blessing people even right now.

Sometimes
God puts a word in your heart

that is not only for you,
but for the whole world.

And that's what happened
with Waymaker song.

She put up a word in my heart,

assuring me of who he is

and what he's able to do and,
what he's doing in my life.

And he said, I'm
still your waymaker.

I'm a promise.

I keep my promises. All.

Every word I've spoken
concerning you is yea and amen.

And you can be confident

and you can be assured of
my word towards you and in me.

There's no darkness, you know,
light in every dark situation.

That is the way it is.

And, the rest is history.

We came to know
you mostly through that song.

What? You've been doing music

and singing out for years
before that.

Can you tell us about
a little bit about your journey?

Yeah, I've always liked music
as a young child.

My first recollection of,
television was the Festival

of Arts and Music
in my country, Nigeria.

And it was a such a
it was such a huge deal.

And we had all these showcasing
of music from Africa,

every part of Africa.

So I fell in love with music.

It was natural
that when I got saved,

I would listen to gospel music,
but because then music became

more than just listening to it
or making music.

He became more like, a tool
to reach out to people, to,

tell people
about the love of Jesus, to

touch them in a different way.

And when did you come to faith
in Jesus Christ?

1989.

That was when I gave my life
to Jesus.

You know,
our music played a big role

because I went to church
and I saw

young people just praising
God, and I was like,

whoa, you can praise
God with music like this.

And I went to the pastor,
made an altar call,

I got saved, and I got filled
with the Holy Spirit same day.

It was a an impactful

and impactful experience and
that totally changed my life.

What is next for snatch?

I have a new album out
titled Victory Sounds, and,

I'm touring and I'm going to be
mentoring as well.

I have a mentoring platform,
Ghost Gym.

I mentor people who have,

a gift in their hearts

and teaching them
how to use these gifts to change

the world, change
the environment, you know,

for everyone who has a
gift is a promise

or a, is a promise of using what
you have to change the world,

your environment
is not only for you.

You can't squander
your gift on yourself, but for,

touching God's people,
inspiring them.

I think that, God actually

helps us
to become a mouthpiece for him.

And he gives us influence.

Influence for his sake.

He gives us influence
for his sake.

And, remember Joseph,
he gave him the influence

and his vision
was established in Egypt.

God's
vision was established in Egypt.

So I look at myself
as a kind of foreigner,

you know, from Africa.

The music in Africa is amazing.

We have great talent.

And I think the Lord is shining.

he's light on Africa.

Africa has a lot to do,

and I'm super excited
about what the Lord is doing.

Well, I'm sure we've
all sung so many of her songs,

but to find out
more about the latest projects,

go to cbn.com
and you'll find info there.

Well, time for some email
questions is a wonderful singer.

really.

And there is great music
coming out of Africa today

and around the world.

The church is really just that.

There's so much great music,

whether they're Brazil,
Philippines and Indonesia.

India, takes you
right into the presence.

Yeah. Yeah, absolutely.

Well,
this question is a big read.

It is going to be great.

Yeah.

This is from Greg
Gordon who says,

if God loves us so much,
why is there so much pain?

Every time I turn around,
there's pain

in one form or another.

This is why I have a hard time
believing in God.

I know one day I will meet him,
whether in good or bad

circumstances,
but it's hard to believe.

Maybe it's trusting Greg.

This is an old question.

Yeah,
it's as old as the Book of Job.

and you look at his story and
all the horror he went through.

Here's a promise.

And you don't hear this

often from the pulpit,
but it's a promise from Jesus.

It's from John chapter 16.

In the world
you will have tribulation.

But be of good cheer.

I have overcome the world.

That is our hope,
the hope of the resurrection.

We live in a fallen world.

God didn't create it that way,
were the ones that fell.

He wanted us in a garden
and he wanted to provide

and speak to us
in the cool of the evening.

But here's the best news
it comes from revelation 21

there's a heaven
he's prepared for us,

where God will wipe away
every tear from their eyes.

There shall be no more death
nor sorrow, no crying.

There shall be no more pain.

For the former
things have passed away.

Put your hope in Jesus.

Be of good cheer, for
he has overcome the world.

We leave these

leave you today with these words
from First Peter,

give all your worries
and cares to God,

for he cares about you.
