- [Announcer] The followingprogram is sponsored by CBN.
- [Gordon] Coming up...
- He's declining rapidly.
- [Gordon] A pastor on life support.
- We're gonna give him some oxygen,
we're gonna start him on a treatment.
- [Gordon] Knocked out by COVID-19.
- We were seeing thingsget worse and worse.
- [Gordon] His wife hascalled in to say goodbye.
- He's very sick, beprepared for the worst.
- [Gordon] His final shot.
- I said, this is the miraclethat we're praying for.
- On today's "700 Club."
(mid tempo music)
Well, welcome to the 700 club,
and thanks for joining us.
President Biden's vaccine mandate
has put millions of Americanworkers into a quandary.
They don't want to take the shot
because of their religious convictions.
- The question is how do they go about
claiming a religious exemption?
And will it be up to the Supreme Court
to decide if they have the right to do so?
Heather Sells explains.
(effects whooshing)
- [Heather] For months,evangelical leaders
have encouraged followersto get the vaccine.
- Hi welcome to pastors and the vaccine.
- With all kinds of campaigns
to encourage the faithful,
now, the president's newpush to mandate the shot
has some in the pews opposed.
Although many denominations
and high profile evangelicalleaders support the vaccine,
a number of people of faith also oppose it
for spiritual reasons.
And they're seekingguidance on how to claim
a religious exemption.
- People are entitled toreligious accommodations
under Title VII of employment$ discrimination law.
- [Heather] There's basicprotection for faith
in the workplace,
thanks to federal lawand the constitution.
When it comes to the vaccine mandate,
however many aren't sure howto claim a religious exemption
and thousands have been calling places
like the religious freedomInstitute for help.
- RFI, the Religious Freedom Institute
doesn't provide legal services,
but we still receivecalls with people asking,
what are they able to do inlight of their objections?
- [Heather] Legal scholars say the key
is not a church's doctrine,
but an individual sincerely held belief.
- The Supreme court has made it very clear
that religious convictions, that merit protection ,
are individual.
I don't have to have a church behind me.
- What we wanna avoid is employers
and worst of all the federal government
becoming some sort of starchamber inquisitorial board,
probing into people's religious beliefs.
If a person says,
these are my reasons, Idisagree with abortion,
sanctity of human life.
I know that the aborted fetalcells are part of the testing.
That should be it.
That should be the case closed
on whether or not theyhave a sincere belief.
You don't need a letter from your pastor.
- [Heather] But Oklahoma pastor
and Senate candidate Jackson Lahmeyer
is doing just that.
Telling people that ifthey join his church,
he'll sign their exemption.
- It's not an anti-vaccine thing,
it's a pro-freedom thing.
- [Heather] Berkeley cautions people
to sort out their reasons
and avoid pursuing this exemption,if motivated by politics.
- Religious exemptionsare meant to be a remedy
to a particular kind of issue.
And just objecting to bad policy
is not what religious exemptions are for.
- [Heather] Still in the months ahead
untold numbers could claim them.
In a telling sign 3000 LAPDemployees plan to file.
And the lawsuits have already started.
The White House may have ahard time telling the courts
that OSHA has the right to mandate a shot.
- Think about what OSHA's about,
it's about chemicalexposures in the workplace,
hardhat regulations on construction sites.
This is conduct outside of the workplace
that they say must bepart of the workplace.
This is a real stretch.
- [Heather] It's unclearhow the Supreme Court
might eventually rule,
especially with weakenedreligious protection,
after the 1990 Smith ruling.
- The government can win, ifit has a compelling interest,
really, really important interest,
and there's no way to accomplish that
without infringing on Liberty.
And you when you're looking ata pandemic and people dying,
the government is certainlygonna try very hard,
even if they're under the tough standard,
they're gonna argue thatwe meet that standard.
- [Heather] It's a high stakes fight
that could severely weakenor empower religious Liberty
in the months and years ahead,
Heather Sells CBN News.
- Well, there's nothing like pandemics,
there's nothing like a crisis
to absolutely test ourconstitutional protections.
And in the middle of a pandemic,
you're going to find veryinteresting court decisions
on religious exemption
and on the ability of OSHAto craft new regulations
regarding the spread of the mandate.
So OSHA right now is putting into place
things that the Bidenadministration has asked for,
that any employer withover a hundred employees
has to either have a vaccinated employee
or do a weekly test.
They're now mandating that anyone working
for the federal governmenthas to have the vaccine.
And so these religious exemptions
that you object based on fetal tissue
or other objections,
that in good conscience, you can't get a vaccination,
those things are going to be tested.
And this isn't new in American culture.
My mother told me whenshe had scarlet fever,
way back in the 1930s,
the quarantine wasabsolute over her house.
They would actually comein and mark the house
and say, no one could comein and no one could come out
because they were trying to contain
the spread of scarlet fever.
So on this, on COVID-19,
are we going to see that kind of lockdown?
Well, we're currentlyseeing it in Australia,
we're currently seeing it in New Zealand,
we're currently seeing it in Canada.
So how much longer before it comes here?
Well, in other news,
Congress, grilled administration officials
over the mounting chaos at the border,
putting the secretary of Homelandsecurity on the hot seat.
John Jessup has more on that story
from our CBN News bureau in Washington.
(effects whooshing)
- That's right Gordon.
DHS, secretary Alejandro Mayorkas
faced tough questions onCapitol Hill, Tuesday,
over the ongoing crisis.
- How many people have been returned?
How many people are being detained?
How many people have been dispersed
to all points around America?
- Senator I would be pleasedto provide you with that data-
- I want them now.
Why don't you have that information now.
- Senator, I do not have that.
- [John] More than 14,000 migrants
crossing the border this past week.
Many from Haiti,
a country recently devastated
by a massive earthquakeand political upheaval.
The administration deportingthousands every day,
but now comes word from two officials
that many Haitians are being released
into the United States.
Right now, at least 10,000men, women and children
are living under the Del RioInternational Bridge in Texas.
Well, the situation at the border
is just one of several crisesfacing president Biden.
At the United nations, Tuesday,
the president addressed issues
ranging from the pullout and Afghanistan
to the ongoing pandemic.
As CBN, senior Washington correspondent
Tara Mergener reports,
some critics thoughtthe president overlooked
some crucial threats.
- World leaders gathered at the UN
for the first time in two years.
Despite mounting crisis facingthe Biden administration,
the president insisting America is back.
The UN Secretary Generalkicking off the meeting
with an ovenous message.
- We are on the edge of an abyss
and moving in the wrong direction.
- [Tara] Although Biden usedhis first major UN address
to reassure the world,American leadership is strong
while promising relentless diplomacy.
- As the United states seeksto rally the world action,
we will lead not just throughthe example of our power,
but God willing with thepower of our example.
- [Tara] The president hopes
to repair relationships with allies
after high profile issues,
ranging from Afghanistan
and a US drone strikethat killed civilians,
(water whooshing)
to out of control illegalcrossings at the US Mexico border,
to the COVID pandemic.
- To fight this pandemic weneed a collective act of science
and political will.
We need to act now, to get shots in arms
as fast as possible.
- [Tara] Critics charge,
Biden has been out ofsync with close allies,
including France,
angry it was left out of plans
to equip Australia withnuclear powered submarines.
During the speech, he didnot mention China by name,
but declared the US is notseeking a new cold war.
- United States is readyto work with any nation
that steps up and pursuespeaceful resolution.
- [Tara] He also wants immediateaction on climate change.
- Scientists and experts are telling us
that we're fast approachinga point of no return,
in a literal sense.
- [Tara] Some globalleaders remain skeptical
about America's promises,
calling the US, disloyal.
While some critics say thespeech was better than expected,
it's unclear if Biden's words
will win the world's confidence.
- We're saying we're gonnause relentless diplomacy
and not relentless war.
Does that invite China to say
"Well, let's say talkabout Taiwan a little bit.
Does it invite otherprovocative moves by Russia,
towards Ukraine and someof it's near neighbors
if they think the UnitedStates is not willing
to use its military might.
- And I don't thinkanything in the speech today
convinced them that theBiden administration
is any more prepared or capable
than they thought that they might be.
And if anything,
it might have raised morequestions about the United States.
- [Tara] Tara Mergerner CBN News.
- Thank you, Tara.
House Democrats blocked$1 billion in funding
for Israel's iron domeanti-missile system,
in a vote to extend the debt limit
and keep the government funded,
reportedly caving to pressure
from progressive representatives,
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.
House Republican MinorityLeader, Kevin McCarthy tweeted,
"While Democrats capitulate
"to the antisemitic influenceof their radical members,
"Republicans will alwaysstand with Israel."
Earlier this year,
iron dome successfully shotdown hundreds of missiles
fired into Israel by Hamas.
Former Israeli ambassador
to the United Nations,Danny Danon told CBS News,
the vote is a troubling sign
of the direction of the Democratic party.
- I'm worried that thosevoices become louder.
We know it's not the majority,
not in the Congress, notin the Democratic Party,
but they are vocal.
We expect our allies...
And we have a lot ofallies in the Congress.
To speak against those voices.
- Democratic House Majority Leader,
Gordon Steny Hoyer says
he plans to fully fund theiron dome in another bill.
- Well, this is a very disturbing trend
in the Democrat Party.
And it's going to, inmy opinion, increase.
This drum beat from Progressive's
to start censoring Israel,
stop the longstandingUnited States support
for the nation of Israel.
It is absolutely incredible
that we can actually have this debate.
It used to be bipartisansupport for Israel
that no matter what,
and no matter which party was in power,
we could depend that Americawould stand with Israel.
This is the first time in my life
that we've seen a bill tohelp Israel defend itself
against rocket attacks,
they've pulled the funding out of it,
so what is Israel now going to do,
to replenish the iron dome missiles,
that they quite clearly need?
The threat's not going away.
Iran, if anything is steppingup efforts to fund Hamas,
Hezbollah's being emboldened.
So are they going tohave rockets coming in
from Southern Lebanon as well?
They need this kind of support,
they certainly need iron dome.
We've stood with them for decades,
and to now pull this out
shows just how much the progressives
are gaining control overthe Democratic Party.
It's incredibly disturbing to me.
I hope this funding is put back soon.
But this is certainly asign of things to come.
Ashley.
- Well, still ahead.
A pastor goes from thepulpit of a mega church
to the ventilator in a hospital.
Doctors said he wouldnever come off of the vent.
So how did he prove them all wrong?
Stay tuned for a COVID miracle coming up.
Plus like life and NorthKorea or communist China,
that's how some Australians
are describing their country
under extreme COVID restrictions.
Has the Land Down Underbecome a police state?
See for yourself after this.
(dramatic music)
- The Corona virus has turned
the Land Down Under, upside down.
Australia used to be knownfor its fierce individualism
and defense of personal freedoms,
and now lock downs,
intense tracking of citizens
have people claiming the country
has turned into a police state.
All this when fewer than 1200 residents
have died from COVID ina nation of 25 million.
Dale Hurd has the story.
(effects whooshing)
- In a now viral tweetan Australian posted
what they said is a view
of the world's largest prison from space,
a map of Australia.
Australia is still a democracy,
but it's COVID restrictions are severe.
It's hard to enter or leave the country
unless you're a politician or a celebrity.
Citizens are tracked with apps,
and soon by facial recognition.
In some states, you haveto have your phone scan
before entering a church,
and some have been arrested
for simply posting on social media,
about protest against COVID restrictions.
The rest of the world is starting to ask
if Australia can stillbe called a free country.
Australia's lockdownhas been so draconian,
it's brought comparisons on social media
to how Australia began,as a prison colony.
This pregnant Australianmother was handcuffed
and hauled away by copsin front of her children
for simply posting on Facebookabout a lockdown protest.
The charge was incitement.
- What on Earth?
Excuse me, what Earth?
- Just what you found in.
(people cross talking)
- In my pajamas,- [Man] What's this?
- I have an ultrasound in an hour.
- [Man] Yeah, she's pregnant.
- [Dale] This leader ofan anti lockdown group
also arrested for incitement
has now been in jail for three weeks.
- [Man] You're underarrest for incitement.
- You guys have been following me?
- [Dale] Police helicopters, look for lockdown violators,
like these folks trying toenjoy an evening on a rooftop.
And the government has firedrubber bullets and tear gas
at anti-locked downprotestors, including children.
James Allan, Garrick professor of law
at the University of Queensland calls it
heavy handed despotism.
- It's been appalling in Australia,
and I say that it wasa big fan of Australia.
I'm Canadian, you cantell from the accent,
but it's come as a real shock to me,
how conservative friends
are perfectly happy to go along with this.
- [Dale] Australia consists of six states
and two territories,
each with their own COVID restrictions.
Under a new home quarantine plan
for international travelers,
if you don't send the government,
your photo and location,
when it sends you a text,
the police will come to your door.
Melbourne pastor Paul Furlong,
has been arrested three times
and placed in solitary confinement
for opening his churchduring the lockdowns.
- The reason I did was for what I believe
was a greater law and thatwas to abide the word of God.
And so I had to chooseGod's law over man's law.
- [Dale] This church in Sydneyshown before the lockdown
was raided and fined forholding what authorities called
an illegal service.
And for not scanning people's phones,
before they entered.
Some pastors are now concerned
that the government couldrequire a vaccine passport,
before entering a church.
We asked Evan Mulholland
at Australia's conservative think tank,
the Institute of Public Affairs,
if he still considersAustralia a free country.
- Well, it's a good question.
It's a question a lot of people
across the politicalspectrum have been asking.
These things don't happen in a vacuum,
they happen when thepolitical and cultural elites
slowly take away our freedomsand they become normalized.
- [Dale] Australians have also begun
turning in one another toauthorities, East German style.
In this tweet in Australian mother
was desperate to finda way home with her son
and needed to cross a state border,
violating lockdown restrictions.
She was turned in to police.
With this kind of behavior,
you might think manythousands of Australians
have died from COVID,
but the death toll is under 1200,
out of a nation of 25 million people
or .0047% of the population,
almost three times that manyAustralians die every week
from normal causes.
But one poll showed most Australians
favor living without freedom,
because they fear COVID morethan any other Western nation.
- The media has justscared people senseless.
The average person thinks if I catch this,
I'm gonna die.
- [Dale] There have been several large
and sometimes violent demonstrations,
against the lockdowns and againstplanned vaccine passports,
and hundreds have been arrested.
The government says the death toll
would have been muchworse without lockdowns.
And they're saying now thatlife can only return to normal,
when most of the country is vaccinated.
- They describe giving back our freedoms
as some sort of a treatas some sort of a reward,
something that can be given back to us
and our fundamental freedomsthat were stolen from us
in the first place.
- [Dale] The Australianjournalist Clive James once said,
"The problem with Australians
"is not that so many of themare descended from convicts,
"but that so many are descendedfrom prison officers."
It's a quote, that's beingtalked about a lot these days.
Dale Hurd CBN News.
- Now, don't think this can'tcross an ocean and come to us,
the panic, if you will,
over COVID 19 is certainly spreading.
It definitely spread to New Zealand
where someone was arrested literally
for having KFC in the trunk of their car.
So you look at these mandates,
these mandatory lockdowns.
Are we going to get tomandatory vaccinations,
all in an effort tostop a horrible disease?
I don't wanna minimize COVID 19,
particularly if you're at risk,
which means are you over 60?
Are you overweight?
Do you have diabetes?
Those kinds of things are all precursors
to having a really bad case
and facing death as aresult of this disease,
but that's not most people.
And so you look at what Iconsider draconian measures,
where you shut down churches.
We've seen that here in the United States,
California had a series of lawsuits.
They all lost them because of our rights
under the constitutionfor freedom of religion
and freedom of assembly.
All of this has beingtested to the limits.
The most disturbing thing,
and you can point to a lot of things
that are disturbing to this,
but it's the arrest and imprisonment
of someone for trying to protest
against the regulations andusing the word incitement.
So you try to plan a peaceful protest.
And I assume that was the plan.
There wasn't a plan for,
let's overthrow thegovernment by force of arms,
but let's have a peaceful protest.
If that turns into incitement
and you can put people in jail for that,
well then yes, you'reno longer a free nation.
You're no longer a free society.
You do not have freedom ofspeech at that point in time.
I hope that never getshere in America, Ashley.
- Well, still ahead, water up to his knees.
That's what this seniorhad to wade through,
to escape a flood.
He was unharmed, but hisbelongings were underwater
and the walls of his house were soaked.
So how did he find help?
Well, he'll tell you himself coming up.
Plus crazy in love and deep in debt,
money woes threatened this marriage,
even before the wedding.
How in the world did this young couple
ditch a hundred thousand dollars of debt?
Find out after this.
(mid tempo music)
- Student loans, creditcard debt, a car loan,
Jamie and Jenna were $100,000 in the hole.
So Jenna prayed about it
and God gave her an unbelievable promise.
What was it?
Take a look.
- [Narrator] Jamie andJenna were crazy in love
and horribly in debt.
As they were planningtheir future together,
the couple took a cold hardlook at their finances.
- Total combined student loans,
and we both had a littlebit of credit card debt
and a car loan or two.
I was right around ahundred thousand dollars.
- [Narrator] The two we're both working
as part-time teaching assistants,
neither jobs paid more than 20,000 a year.
- And I remember,
again, both of us like almost laughing
at the mountain of debt thatwe knew that we were under.
- [Narrator] Unsure of what to do next,
Jenna prayed about the debtand the future marriage.
She says, that's when God madeher an unbelievable promise.
One that she immediatelyshared with her fiance.
- Jesus is now saying,
us as a couple are going tobe debt-free in five years.
- It was like one of those"You've gotta be kidding."
There's no way that's possible.
- [Narrator] The couple mapped out a plan
to pay off their debt.
They created a budget basedon their limited income.
They also decided their firstexpense would be tithing.
- I knew that it wassomething that would honor God
and something He calls us to do.
- But I heard the idea of tithing
would be 10% of your income,
I did a quick math
and I'm like that's alot of money every month.
- [Narrator] A few monthsbefore their wedding,
both Jamie and Jenna were offered
full-time teaching positions.
But with just a few weeks to go
before the big day, bad news,
their school hadn't been taking out
the state mandated retirement deduction.
To make up for the shortfall,
both Jamie and Jenna hadtheir paychecks slashed.
- They were literally takinghalf of each of our salary,
every paycheck for thenext six pay periods.
- It felt like I got punched,
like we'd been working so hard.
- [Narrator] Now the twowould have to make do
with even less than they had planned.
The couple went on with the wedding,
and despite their limited income,
held on to their promise from God
and stuck with their plan to tithe.
- For the first year or two we struggled
with the idea of being so restricted
and sacrificing things
and not being able to do the things
that we saw our friends andfamily and community doing.
- [Narrator] Jamie andJenna picked up side jobs
along the way,
and continued to titheoff of what they earned.
And they credit that forhelping them get through
those lean months.
- 12 weeks ago, we had half a paycheck,
12 weeks later fast forwardwe got through that stressor
and we didn't have to dipinto our savings at all.
- I think continually being humble enough
to say yes to Jesus,
that he has more clientsand bigger plans for us
than we could ever dream for ourselves,
I think is a big part of what tithing is
and how Jesus can reallytransform your life.
- [Narrator] The two continuedto chip away at their debt,
the school stopped garnishing their wages,
and they even earned pay raises.
Their daughter was born in 2017,
then in January of 2019,
shortly before they celebratedtheir fifth anniversary,
Jamie and Jenna paid off the last
of their hundred thousand dollars debt,
just as God had promised.
- I wouldn't have believed it possible
to pass a hundred thousanddollars of debt in five years.
But we said yes to Jesus.
To Jesus one plus one equalswhatever he wants it to.
- [Narrator] Today, Jamieand Jenna are still teaching,
they own a home, and they'vealso started a financial blog,
where they tell theworld about how tithing
put them on the road to financial freedom.
- If we hadn't committed to tithing
and made that a non-negotiablein our lives, in our budget,
then our budget wouldn't work.
- Looking from the time westarted to where we are now,
hundred thousand dollars in five years
on teaching salary,
we could not have done itwithout Jesus providing.
- Jesus wants to provide.
When you get that,
when you understand thatGod wants to help you.
what is he looking for, first?
He's looking for you tosay, I want your help,
and because I want your help,
I want to live life your way.
Don't have a jail house, prayer,
Lord, if you get me outof this, I'll follow you.
And then he gets you out of it,
and then you go back to your old ways.
It's when you make afull total commitment,
"God, I'm all in."
That's when the miracles start to happen.
When my words remain in you,
"When you remain in me, andmy words remain in you,"
then you'll see miracles.
Here's a promise is from Matthew 21.
"Jesus told them,
"'I assure you if you havefaith and don't doubt,
"'you can even say to this mountain,
"'may God lift you up andthrow you into the sea.
"'and it will happen.
"'If you believe you will receive
"'whatever you ask for in prayer'"
For Jamey and Jenna,
that mountain was a mountain of debt.
What did they do?
They believed that Godcould remove that mountain,
that he could do it, whenthey had a teacher's salary.
Now that's faith.
They put their faith into action saying,
"Well, we're going to obeywhat God tells us to do.
"God tells us to tithe, sowe're going to do that."
And you see the result, you saw it.
They prayed, they believed
they spoke to their mountain of debt,
they acted their faith by tithing.
When you put these things into practice,
then God will come through for you.
All you have to do is believe,
and then act your belief.
If you wanna start doingthat, give us a call.
Say, yes, I wanna join the 700 Club.

in people all around the world,
just like Daro, a baby boy in Cambodia.
His mother never took him outside,
but instead she kepthim hidden in the house.
Why and what was she afraid of?
Just take a look.
(baby wailing)
- [Narrator] After her baby was born,
his mother's Srey Phea
was afraid to show him to anyone,
that's because Daro had beenborn with a cleft pallet.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] I was afraid our neighbors
would laugh at him.
They asked me why Inever took him outside.
I lied and said, it'sbecause he's too young.
- This is Daro's older sisters, Srey-Kar.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] At first,I hate how he looked,
but later I start to love him.
When mom fed Daro, he choked,
and it poured out of his mouth.
I want my brother to get an operation.
- [Narrator] Daro'sfather tried to save money
for the surgery,
but because of the COVIDpandemic in Cambodia,
his motorcycle repairbusiness was suffering.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] I couldn't sleep at night
because my son needed formula to drink.
Since the COVID, there hasbeen very little money.
I did not even have a wayto take him to the hospital.
- [Narrator] When Operation Blessing
learned about their needs,
we arranged for Daro toreceive free transportation
and free surgery at ahospital in the city.
That operation was a success.
- [Interpreter] Daro can noweat fruits and drink formula.
He gained weight and he never choked again
- [Narrator] Daro's fatherhas now back to work
and able to provide for the family.
- To the donors who helpedto fix my son's lip,
I wish you good health and prosperity
and may the COVID stay away from you.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] Now mybrothers lips look great.

- When Doug Jansson'swhole family got COVID,
his wife and kids recovered quickly,
but Doug became critically illand was put on a ventilator.
Doctor said he wouldnever come off the vent.
So how did Doug wind upmaking a complete recovery?
You're about to find out.
- [Narrator] In late November, 2020,
Doug Jansson was a healthy43 year old pastor,
of the New York Mega Church.
On December 23rd, 2020,
he was on life support
and his wife was called to say goodbye.
The ordeal began in early December,
when the entire Janssonfamily contracted COVID-19.
Doug's wife, Kelly,
and his three children recovered quickly,
Doug did not.
When his labored breathingbecame life-threatening,
he was admitted to ICUat Stony Brook hospital.
- A few hours later,
I first got a phone call from the doctor,
saying we're gonna give him some oxygen,
we're gonna start him on a treatment
and hope for the best.
I actually just began to cry
and just feeling like we werein for a battle for his life.
- [Narrator] Duringthe next several weeks,
Doug's condition continued to decline.
- I had been askingeveryday if I could come in,
and they kept saying only end of life.
- [Narrator] Yet, long beforethat dreaded day arrived,
Kelly had mobilized a contingency
to do battle for Doug in prayer.
She put her first requestfor help on Facebook.
- And we were seeingthings get worse and worse,
and without anything thatI could have expected,
people started sharing the posts
and prayer just roseup for him everywhere.
They were gonna fight forDoug's life, alongside of us.
- [Narrator] Then another urgent call
came from the hospital.
- Doctor called me early and he said,
"He's declining rapidly.
"Yes, now you can come in."
- When Kelly entered Doug's hospital room,
she had no intention of saying goodbye.
- And I just started to prayover him and speak life,
and I left with an overwhelming assurance
that he was gonna come home to me.
And the last thing I said to him
before I walked out of the room,
I said, "You're coming home to us,"
I asked to speak to histwo doctors and I said,
"Don't go in there and tell him thing,
"that's gonna make him feellike you've given up hope."
And they said to me, "He's very sick.
"Be prepared for the worst."
- [Narrator] That's whenKelly asked the doctors
to place Doug on a ventilator.
- I took every phone call from the doctor,
every negative word underthe truth of that verse,
that God can do all things,
and that no plan of his can be thwarted.
- [Narrator] The growingthrongs of intercessors
around the world
and Doug's family and friendsagreed, Doug would not die.
They held 24 hour prayer vigils,
sang Christmas carols atthe Jansson's front door
and circled the hospitalin a prayer parade.
Medical staff prayed to.
- I was able to facetime with Kelly,
and we were able to pray.
The whole hospital wasreally rooting for him.
- [Narrator] Doctors placeDoug on a ventilator,
but removed it within 24 hours,
after they determined itwas not helping Doug breath
and might even make him worse.
- And my prayer that night when I left
was that God would... (sobbing)
That God would just lethim make it to the 26th
so that his family didn'thave to equate Christmas day
with losing Doug.
- And then I got a phonecall from a surgeon who said,
"Your husband's not doing well,
"but I wanna put him on life support.
"It's called EKMO life support.
"And this is his best chance at living."
And I said, "Let's do it."
And some of our closest peoplewho are in the medical fields
said that, "Oh no, this is it,
"there's no way he's gonna make it."
I said, "This is the miraclethat we're praying for."
- [Narrator] Four days later,Doug had a huge setback,
a massive internal bleed.
That's when the risks ofEKMO outweighed the benefits.
He was removed from EKMO andplaced back on a ventilator.
- So he was still in the ICU
and every day was like a rollercoaster.
One hour, he's doing pretty well,
a couple of hours later,
his oxygen levels are dropping.
I kept telling my kids,
He got daddy through EKMO,
He's gonna bring him off the vent.
- [Narrator] A week later,
Kelly says she experienced
one of the most joyfulmoments of her life.
- The first time in weeks, Ihad a text from my husband.
So that was January 4th,
on January 5th, I was driving
and I received a text that said,
"From Doug, they might takeme off the ventilator."
We were screaming and praisingand yelling and rejoicing,
the fact that he was off the ventilator
and he was breathing so well.
- [Narrator] Doug immediatelyrecorded a message
to thank everyone who prayed him through
this harrowing ordeal.
- I wanna thank you fromthe bottom of my heart,
for battling with me and myfamily through all of this.
You guy's prayers helped save my life.
- [Narrator] On February 2nd, 2021,
Doug Jansson left Stony Brook Hospital,
winding through phonesof cheering well-wishers
to a joyous reunion with his family.
After several months of rehabilitation,
Doug was back at home with his family
and back in the pulpit of this church.
But the Jansson say it'sfar from business as usual.
Their lives will never be the same.
- I think back to the fruit,
and I'll see loved onesthat came back to Christ
through this, I'll see justwhat God did in my own heart.
My kids being able tosay they saw a miracle
is just, I would go through it all again.
- One of the things that Ithink that I walked away with
is that tenacity to not let go,
no matter how hopeless things are looking,
and we have a mightyGod and He wants us to,
with tenacity of faith, not let him go
and not stop, but keepknocking and keep praying
and keep going to Him
and not give up.
- Yes and Amen.
Hear those words today.
Don't give up, keep knocking,
keep asking
because the door will open.
And I'm just reminded ofthe scripture that says,
"No weapon formed againstyou shall prosper."
There are weapons,
but they shall not prosperin the name of Jesus.
And I just hope that story encouraged you,
just as much as it's encouraged me.
And Gordon and I are gonna pray for you.
Whatever your needs aretoday, we're gonna pray.
But before we do, we havesome more miracle stories,
miracle testimonies.
This is Mary of Glen Allen, Virginia.
She was diagnosed with PTSD.
She lost her ability to focus
and suffered significant memory loss.
Mary was watching the "700 Club"
and Gordon said,
"A woman named Mary,
"you are suffering with confusion.
"There is a cloud and your thoughts
"and you can't break through.
"Some memory lapses and youare worried about dementia.
"God is healing your brain,
"clarity of purpose, clarityof memory is yours right now."
At that moment, hope arose in Mary.
The next day,
she noticed a clearing of her thoughts.
She called CBN to reportthat she can now remember
everything, including her passwords, amen.
- And it's all important today.
Hi here's Minerva, who wrote in by email.
"Ashley..."
The anointed one, Ashley, the angel
"had a word of knowledgeabout someone with pain
"on their right foot and toes.
"As soon as I heard it,I said, 'this is for me.'
"I felt a cool sensation on my foot,
"and the pain left me instantly.
You just heard aboutsome wonderful miracles.
You just saw a miracle of someone
who was put on life support, put on a van ventilator.
We're all learning that
that's the last stage in COVID.
But for that wonderful family,it wasn't the last stage,
it was the beginning of the miracle.
As believers in Jesus Christ,
we get to tap into resurrection power.
Now, understand that,
understand just how incredible that is.
Don't settle for a form of godliness
and deny the power,
that resurrection poweris available to you.
Now, when Jesus sent out his disciples,
He gave them some veryspecific instructions
as to what to do.
There was a commandment to heal the sick,
there was a commandmentto cast out demons.
But before any of that, he said to them,
declare that the kingdomof Heaven has drawn nigh.
Ain't that wonderful?
That you can experience Heaven
right here on Earth,
that it can come nearyou, it can touch you,
it's in your midst,
it can even be within you.
What wonderful things.
That's the Gospel of the kingdom.
That God's will you look to Heaven,
anybody sick, anybodyin need, anybody poor,
you look to Heaven and you say,
"God, I want your will to be done on Earth
"as it is in Heaven."
You can get very specific with it.
God, I want your willto be done in my body.
Just what you haveplanned for me in Heaven,
I want it right now.
Now I declare over you,
the kingdom of Heaven has drawn nigh.
Ashley and I are going to prayer.
The Bible says,
"When two or more agree touching anything,
"it shall be done for themby my Father in Heaven."
These are the words of Jesus.
Ashley, and I will be your two or more,
you reach out in an act of faith,
lay your hand on that area ofthe body that needs healing,
we will agree with you andthen God will do all the rest.
Let's pray.
Lord, we come to you.
We come to you with thanksgivingfor what you are doing,
for what you have done
and who you are,
for you are the sameyesterday, today, and forever.
Stretch forth your hand to do miracles.
Touch people now, as they lay hands
on that area of the body, touch them.
We declare over them,
be healed now by the resurrectionpower of Jesus Christ.
May the kingdom of Heaven come to you,
may His will be done throughout your body,
from this day forward,be healed in Jesus' name.
Ashley God's given you something.
- Yeah, there's somebody watching
you just put your hand right here.
I think there's an injury
in the upper part of yourback/lower part of your neck,
and you're not able toreally lift your hands.
Lift your hands rightnow and praise the Lord
because God is healingyou of that right now.
You will not be in pain,
you will have no more stiffness,
you'll have full mobilityin the name of Jesus.
Just begin to lift yourarms and praise the Lord.
- There's some one you heard the report
from the woman who was sufferingwith confusing thoughts,
and it was all from PTSD.
You're suffering with confusingthoughts, loss of memory.
God is healing your mind now.
He is coming to you and saying,
"I give you a sound mind,
"with easy recollection."
In Jesus name, may verythought be ordered.
No more confusion, no more damage,
in the name of Jesus, amen and amen.
If you've been healed, let us know.
Give us your good report and call us
1-800-700-7000
Here's a word.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
"in everything give thanks,
"for this is the will of God
"in Christ Jesus for you."
God bless.
We'll see you tomorrow.(upbeat music)
