- This week on "Jerusalem Dateline,"
time is running out to stop Iran
from obtaining a nuclear bomb.
What will the world do?
And military drones,
the battlefield of thefuture is here today.
And a special call to prayerfor the people of Afghanistan.
All this and more this weekon "Jerusalem Dateline."
Hello and welcome to this edition
of "Jerusalem Dateline,"I'm Chris Mitchell.
Israel's Prime Minister
puts the world on notice
that time is running out to stop Iran
from getting a nuclear weapon.
The warning follows an alarmingreport from a UN agency.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett
is sounding an international wake up call.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] I'mcalling on world powers,
don't fall into the trapof Iranian deception
that will lead to additional concessions.
They're dragging on,
we must set a clear cutdeadline that says, until here.
The Iranian nuclear program
is at the most advanced point ever.
- [Chris] Israel remains clear,
it's military option to strike
Iran's nuclear facilities is open.
Earlier this month, the UN agency
monitoring Iran's nuclear program
released a confidential report,
saying for months theregime hindered access
by damaging surveillance cameras,
while also expanding its nuclear program,
dangerously close toa weapons grade level.
To avert a political showdown,
Iran invited the agency back this weekend,
but it could be too late.
Meanwhile, SundayIsrael's defense minister
issued another warning,
with the release of imagesof an Iranian training base.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] The Kashan base,
located North of the City of Isfahan
is used to train terrorists
from Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.
Iran has developed proxy terror,
which is perpetrated byorganized terror armies,
which are assisting Iran
in achieving its economic, political and military goals.
- [Chris] The camps includeanother weapon of terror,
military drones.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] One ofthe most significant tools
employed by Iran and its proxies is UAVs,
with a range of thousands of kilometers.
Hundreds of these UAVs
are spread across Yemen,Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.
Iran is also attemptingto transfer the know-how
needed for UAV production to Gaza.
(effects whooshing)
- In conflicts around the world,
military drones are changingthe face of modern warfare.
And that battlefield ofthe future is here today.
After 9/11, the US military made the drone
or unmanned aerial vehicle,
a major part of theinternational war on terror.
Fast-forward less than two decades,
and its use is spreading.
In September of 2019,
a swarm of Iranian dronesattacked Saudi Arabia's
largest oil refining facilitywith devastating results.
Last year in the war betweenAzerbaijan and Armenia
Azerbaijan's use of drones,
tipped the balance of powerand helped them win the war.
This is all part of thenew face of modern warfare.
Military drones are now amulti-billion dollar industry.
In 2021, the Pentagon budgeted
more than $7 billion to drones.
And by 2027, the globalmarket is expected to explode
to more than $55 billion.
Seth Frantzman author of "Drone Wars,"
says this technology weddedwith artificial intelligence
represents a revolution.
- I think they are a weapon of tomorrow.
I mean, you have to think about drones,
transforming warfare the way tanks did
in the 2nd World War,
or the way let's say airplanes did,
or even ironclad ships.
We have to think of themas a total game changer
in terms of how countries
and even terror groups or drug warlords
are able to wage war.
- [Chris] It's estimated
that as many as 30,000military drones are in service
and they come in all sizes.
- Drones can be anywherefrom the size of your thumb,
to the size of a big airplane, like a 747 or something,
if you wanna build them that large.
And I think when we seen these days,
especially with Iranin terms of its threats
is they claim 1000 or 2000kilometer ranges of drones.
And those are drones that usually
are what's called a Kamikaze drone,
which means the drone goes one way,
it doesn't come back, itjust runs into the target.
- [Chris] That's what Iran recently used
in an attack against the shiprun by an Israeli company,
off the Coast of Oman.
While the us and Israelwere among those first
out of this gate,
the race is now on to see who will become
the world's drone superpower.
- I think if the UnitedStates or Western countries
don't work very hard to catch up,
I think in China and willbe the next super buyer
because China has the industrial capacity
and the willingness to innovate
and use new systems
to I think roll hundreds of thousands
of these things off the line.
And I think they also areselling them all over the world.
So I think we'll see alot more Chinese drones,
just like we see a lotof Chinese everything's.
- [Chris] The stunningSaudi attack two years ago
showed how lethal drones can be.
- It shows us exactly whatcan be done with drones,
even against an advancedpower like Saudi Arabia
that extensively has Western air defenses.
And the drones were ableto come in quite low
and I think avoid radars
and were able to carryout pinpoint attacks.
- [Chris] As IsraeliDefense Minister Benny Gantz
revealed recently,
an Iranian base with hundreds of drones
represents one of thelatest threats to Israel
and the Middle East.
- What it tells us is,
Iran's not just exporting thedrones and the blueprints,
it's bringing people into Iran,
training them and then sending them back.
And I think that's a bigimplication for the region,
because it means you havevery skilled operators
who can use drones to target ships
or energy facilitiesor whatever they want.
- Frantzman says now nations are racing
to develop the lasers, microwave weapons and technology
in order to defend againstthis drone revolution.
and victory in the next major conflict
could well depend onwho wins the drone wars.
Well, for the first time,in more than a year,
Lebanon has a functioning government.
The question remains however,
whether it will be strong enough
to challenge the Iranian backed Hezbollah
from taking over the country.
Julie Stahl, brings us the story.
- [Julie] Lebanon's newPrime Minister Najib Mikati
is promising to stop
the country's dramatic economic collapse
and urging politicians to work together.
(speaking in foreign language)
- [Interpreter] Thesituation is very difficult
and we all know this,
but it's not impossible to deal with it,
if we cooperate as Lebanese.
We have to work hand in hand.
- [Julie] And that will be a tall order
since there's been no true governing body,
since shortly after themassive Beirut port explosion
in August, 2020.
- France the United States, international community,
all of them, the IMF,the International Bank,
they said always,
we are ready to help you, butyou have to form a government.
The mission of thegovernment should be reforms.
I don't think that theycan, the government,
make reform.
- [Julie] Reform is clearly needed,
as more than half thepopulation sits in poverty
due to a drastic drop
in the value of the country's currency.
That's led to skyrocketing food prices,
crippling fuel shortages andwidespread power outages.
While a lack of governmentis part of Lebanon's woes,
there's more behind it.
- We are watching Hezbollastan,
Lebanon is not a failedstate, but a fake state.
It's an illusionary facadeof a legitimate government.
- [Julie] Reserve BrigadierGeneral Assaf Orion,
sees the new government as a puppet
that allows Hezbollah totighten its grip on the country.
- They're running the show,
they allow legitimate veneer
of Christian, Sunni's and others
to take part in this facade.
And as long as the worldbuys it and keeps on paying,
it will keep on rolling.
- [Julie] Orion says,
the West needs to learn from Afghanistan,
where for decades, the USsupported the local government,
that was then overrun by the Taliban
before the Americans even left.
- Political reality is can'tbe wished into reality.
Designate Hezbollah asa terror organization,
sanction it, fight it acrossthe whole of government,
financially, legally, politically,
and if needed the militarily
and recognize reality for what it is.
- [Julie] For Israel, the threat is huge.
- Hezbollah is also theseverest military threat
to Israel on its borders.
That potential for theseverest war in the region
is between Israel and Hezbollah,
and that's because Iran iskeeping on pushing itself
onto Israel's frontiers, both in Lebanon and in Syria.
- [Julie] Meanwhile, Israel says Iran
is just a month away fromhaving enough material
to make a nuclear bomb.

- While, Afghanistan is in turmoil,
could the war torn country
become the heart of revival in the region?
One ministry predicts that it may.
After working with theunderground church there,
as Caitlin Burke reports,
even with the Taliban'seffort to squelch the message,
Afghan Christians continue tolive and spread the Gospel.
(effects whooshing)
- As the new Taliban government
tightens its grip on Afghanistan,
people can plainly see thedarkness of Islam spreading
and they're running toward the light.
- As Job says.
In the book of job, he says,
"When a man is in a heap on the ground,
"he stretches out his hand to God."
And so it's in themidst of the desperation
that souls are hungry,
and so it's a moment of opportunity.
- [Caitlin] Joel Richardson,
with Global Catalytic Ministries
says history proves thatoppressive Islamic governance
leads to revival in the church.
- Iran has the fastestgrowing church in the world,
seven years after the ISIS Blitzkrieg,
there's a revival in Northern Syria.
The establishment of Islamic government
provides ripe soil for the church to grow.
- [Caitlin] The church in Afghanistan,
is determined to do the same.
- They're still actively meeting,
studying the scriptures together,
worshiping and sharing the Gospel.
We actually have a reportof one of our leaders
who has been sharing theGospel with Taliban members
that came into their village,
and they've actually been engaging
in Bible studies and prayer.
- [Caitlin] While it's oftenthe sensational reports
that make headlines,
like a recent one that falsely claimed
the underground churchthere had been martyred
or others that spotlight heroic action,
Richardson says Afghanistan's Christians
are just real people choosing to live out
their Christian faith.
- They say they're scared,
many of them are in despair,
but it's in that weakness
that they're still pushing forward,
and they're findingsweetness in all of it.
- One Afghan Christian
recently reporting back toGlobal Catalytic Ministries,
"There is pain and joy right now.
"God hasn't left.
"There is no need to fearwhat the Taliban is doing.
"Yes, bad things may happen to us,
"but God will do somethingand glorify His name."
Richardson worries, this couldbe the calm before the storm.
But he says Christians there
have submitted themselvesto the will of God
come what may.
- They've given their future, their fate over to the Lord,
knowing that it could result in martyrdom.
They understand that very, very clearly,
but yet they're pushingforward regardless.
- The biggest prayer request right now
is for divine protection.
One Christian writing
that they continue to remember the passage
where Jesus' enemies are after Him,
and he passes through a crowd
and disappears, divine camouflage.

- [Chris] Up next, praying for the people
and the country of Afghanistan.
- It is the most importantarcheological site,
nevertheless, it has never been excavated.
- [Narrator] An almost impossible task.
- Temple Mount was thelargest religious compound
in the ancient world.
- [Man] It's the mostpoliticized piece of real estate
in the world.
- [Narrator] Leads to an improbable find.
- There is an ancientroad, also 2000 years old.
- [Man] That is the building, which is referred to
in the New Testament.
- [Narrator] That is confirmingthe stories of the Bible.
- Where did Jesus walk?
There's no question, Hewalked on these steps.
- You can see it,
there's no way to refutethat they existed.
They walked here, they talked here,
- [Narrator] See the evidenceleft by an ancient witness.
- He lived there, he sawit, he knew the details.
- And it's like thecrown of our discoveries.

- The US pullout from Afghanistan,
sent geopolitical shockwaves throughout the world.
Profoundly diminished US prestige
and left tens of thousands of Afghans
in harm's way at the handsof the Taliban terrorists.
I talked with Dave Eubank,
the founder of free Burma Rangers.
He's in neighboring Tajikistan,
to see what they can do to help Afghans
and how to pray for thepeople and the country.
Dave Eubank from the Free Burma Rangers,
thanks for joining us.
First of all, tell us whereyou are right now, Dave.
- We are in Tajikistan, which is a beautiful country,
just North of Afghanistan,
and we're here to help the Afghan people.
- You're a US Ranger,
tell us your feelings or perspective
about the US pull out from Afghanistan.
- Well, I think the USpullout is debatable.
You could make good argumentthat we should pull out soon,
we should pull out later.
I think there's good arguments
for pulling it out or staying.
But the way that wepulled out is dishonorable
and a horrible breaking of promises
and leaving thousands of people behind
that we promised wewould take out with us,
including American citizens.
And so I feel very sorry.
Actually, almost every day Chris,
I have started to cry
'cause I thought of these little girls
left in the hands of the Taliban
and that's the biggest thing.
And then I thought of the dishonor
that we brought on ourselves as a country
to promise people,including American citizens,
don't worry, y'all get out.
I know there are many bravepeople in our military,
who tried their best and did their best.
However, the result was dishonorable
and in some instances, cowardly
that we left people outside.
So my prayer is that ourcountry would look at this again
and say, those are real people we left
and say, we're sorry,we're human, we're sorry,
we're gonna try again to get people out.
- You are on the borderthere with Afghanistan,
what are you hearing
about the currentsituation in that country?
- I think unless you're in the Taliban,
you're in deathly fear of the Taliban.
They are hunting down people right now,
trying to get all the namesof anyone they perceive
as an enemy.
People who worked with the US government,
people who worked with other governments,
people who worked withnon-governmental organizations,
they don't agree with.
And many have been executed.
I don't know the scale ofthe killings and the arrest,
but I believe it's Countrywide right now.
We've already seen evidence of that.
And so the people are in terror.
There's some areas where people have fled,
like the Panjshir Valley,
where they fled and are in hiding,
and they need food, they need shelter,
it's very difficult to get it to them.
Well, the main reason we came Chris
is to be ambassador for Jesus.
And we say that straight up,
to every Afghan we meet.
We're in meetings with differentAfghan leaders now saying,
God's sending us to serve you,
we come in Jesus' name
and we love you and care for you.
And we're trying to get in food,
blankets, medical help forthose that are in hiding.
And we're trying to help people get out,
any way we can.
- What would you call be topeople around the world to pray,
and how should they be praying right now?
- I think number one, pray for truth.
And everyone Americans, Afghans to say,
this is the mistakes we made,
we're sorry let's try again.
And God always shows us another way.
So pray for truth, pray for love,
pray for access to go in and help people.
Whether some people will be led by God
to work through the Taliban,
some people we lead another way,
but that help would getin to the people in need.
And we are the other way,
going into the displaced communities,
trying to give them help,
and most importantly saythere is a God in Heaven
who is presently with us
and sent His son Jesus asan answer for all of us,
call on His name.
So please pray that help would come,
that truth would come off from every side,
and please pray that us,the Free Burma Rangers,
and many other groupslike us are on the ground,
that we can have access to help people.
- Dave, would you go aheadand lead us in prayer?
- Lord Jesus, thank you for everyone
who's watching this broadcast.
Thank you for the ChristianBroadcasting Network.
What a great name, what a great mission,
bless them in every way they need.
Thank you for Chris andJonathan and everyone.
And Lord help us to speak the truth,
help us to know the truth,
help us to speak it in love,
help us to be able to help these people
and the political leadersof Afghanistan now
who are trying, meetingright now as we speak,
what can they do toget their country back?
Lord, I don't know if that's the question,
I think the question is,what can we do right now?
How do we help our fellowman and woman and child?
And give them those answers Lord,
even if they don't even ask you,
I intercede and say, givethem the right answer.
Lord, help us take another step.
Bless our country America.
We've done a lot of good there,
we had great hope there.
Help us to say, we're sorryfor what we messed up,
in Jesus name, amen.
- Amen, thank you, Dave.
And finally, Dave, ifpeople wanna help you
the Free Burma Rangers,
how could they help you?
- Well, number one is pray,
Number two is watch CBN,
number three, we have awebsite freeburmarangers.org.

- For Jews, the holiest dayof the year is Yom Kippur.
This year it fell on September 16th,
and the way Israel observes that day
is unique in all the world.
(effects whooshing)
Yom Kippur, the day of atonement
is the culmination of the 10 days of awe.
- Which are the 10 days that separate
Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur.
These are heavy days ofrepentance and reflection
and seeking God's face,
as we prepare to go stand before Him
in a state of fasting,in a state of humility,
on the day of Yom Kippur.
- Here in Israel on Yom Kippur,
he Nation comes to a standstill.
The streets are empty, public transportation ends
television broadcasting stops.
And for one day of theyear in all the Earth,
a country stops to seekthe God of the Bible.
During the 10 days of awe,
Jews greet one anotherwith the Hebrew expression,
(speaking in foreign language)
which means may youhave a good inscription
in the book of life.
On Yom Kippur, they believe thebook is closed for the year,
so they pray and fast.
- It's a 25 hour fast.
So the fast starts theevening prior to the day,
and then we fast all throughout the day
and it's observed through solemn prayer,
beautiful liturgical songsthat go up before God,
we speak words of prayer of repentance.
- [Chris] During the day,
the book of Jonah isread in the synagogue.
- Jonah is a symbol of repentance.
Jonah symbolizesoftentimes our own actions,
doubting God, disobeying God,
going the opposite way ofwhat God has called us to do,
when he's called us tocall others to repentance
and to build His kingdom.
- [Chris] On Yom Kippur Jews also recite
a special prayer called the Viddui.
- The Viddui, is thecentral prayer of confession
and for forgiveness of theJewish people on Yom Kippur.
And it's a prayer that they pray,
not only on behalf of themselves,
but on behalf of all the Jewishpeople around them world.
- [Chris] The Viddui contains
a loud section said corporately
in a quiet section, prayed by the individual.
- One thing that we learnedfrom the Jewish people,
and something quite important,
especially about Yom Kippur,
that it's not enough to say, you're sorry,
you have to confess, say you're sorry,
and then at the same time,
take practical steps tochange your behavior.
- [Chris] It says inthe book of Leviticus,
"And Lord spoke to Moses saying
"'also the 10th day of the seventh month
"'shall be the Day of Atonement.
"'It shall be a holy convocation for you.
"'You shall afflict your souls
"'and offer an offeringmade by fire to the Lord.
"'And you shall do nowork on that same day
"'for it is the Day of Atonement
"'to make atonement for youbefore the Lord our God.'"
- Well, the Bible speaks about Yom Kippur
in terms of it being agreat day of judgment,
of us standing before God.
So it's considered likethe day of judgment.
The gates of judgment are opened
and HaShem is judging our souls
in terms of our right actionsand our wrong actions.
We ask HaShem for forgiveness
and He gives us His forgiveness.
We seek His face and He is there,
His mercy is every day,
and it's true, particularly on that day.
(effects whooshing)
