- We've got this interestingquestion from Tanya.
She says,
"I know a Christian couple, and the wife hates sex.
"The husband does all hecan, takes out the trash,
"bends over backwards forhis wife, compliments her,
"takes her on dates, gets her flowers.
"They tried counseling, to no avail.
"She threatened no moresex after menopause.
"Can he divorce her and get remarried
"if he finds someone else inthe future who is a Christian?
"If he divorces and remarries,is that considered adultery?
"And if so, could helose his salvation, Pat?"
- Well, it's a whole lot ofquestions all at one time.
The answer is, I don'tthink you're gonna lose
your salvation if you get a divorce.
But in a case like that, Idon't know that that's grounds.
You know, you think, Paul said
the couple should go apartfor a period of fasting,
then they had to come backagain, lest they be tempted.
So what she's doing issetting her husband up
for temptation, thathe, one of these days,
is going to seek comfort inthe arms of another woman.
And that's what he isentitled to as a husband.
But she is withholding something that is,
according to the Bible,is his due as a husband.
They call it consortium.
And you asked me several questions
that I don't know frankly, the answer.
Is that a ground for divorce?
I don't know.
I mean, is that a type of desertion?
You know the Pauline privilegethat I like to refer to is,
if the unbeliever is pleasedto depart, let them depart.
The brother or sister isn't bound.
But has that wife departed?
She's having menopause andthere's all these questions.
The answer is, I don't know.
(laughs)
I'm sorry to say.
But will you lose yoursalvation if you get a divorce?
(laughs)
The answer in that case is no.
Beyond that, I just don'tknow how to counsel you,
but you should ought toask the Lord for wisdom.
But what that wife is doing is wrong.
That I can say, all right?
- Amen to that.
And like you said, settingher husband up for temptation.
- Exactly, I mean that'swhat the Bible says.
Come together, lest you be tempted.
Go apart for fasting andprayer, where you want
to seek the Lord, thencome together again,
lest you be tempted.
That's what the Bible.
Beyond that,
(laughs)
I'm afraid that's beyond me, okay?
(laughs)
- You answered it well.
All right, here's Robert.
He says,
"Old folks like me rememberbefore the internet,
"when we had the powergrid, pipelines, and many
"other businesses operating successfully.
"Asking how we can protectall these from internet hacker
"attacks seems to me tobe the wrong question.
"Since they worked wellbefore being connected,
"is it really necessary tomake critical businesses
"vulnerable to attack byconnecting them to the internet?"
- Well I think you'reasking the wrong question.
The power grid hasn't gotanything to do with the internet.
The power grid is connectedbecause electricity
is connected back andforth from transformers,
and wires that go back andforth and deliver power
to your home.
That's got nothing to do with the power,
with the internet.
But if that thing gets compromised,
that's where you're gonna have a hurt.
The internet is a different matter.
So yes, we can get along verynicely without the internet,
but you can't get along verywell without the power grid.
All right?
- All right, Manoma writes,
"Matthew 5:29 says, ifyour right eye causes you
"to sin, pluck it outand cast it from you.
"What is someone supposedto do if their brain
"is the problem?
"I often have bad thoughtsthat just pop into my head,
"bad words that I don't even use,
"and other things thatjust seem completely
"out of character.
"I doubt God wantspeople to get lobotomies,
"so how is someone supposedto guard their thoughts?"
- Well, you know the Biblesays, how shall a young man
cleanse his way by takingheed, according to thy word?
You need the word thatI've hid in my heart
that I might not sin against thee.
I think you've got to focus on the word.
Don't tell me you can'tcontrol your thoughts.
Yes, there are a lot of stuffthat comes into your mind.
But if you entertainit, that's the problem.
And you can command this thing,
you can ask your, demand your attention
to go to something else.
If you're focused onporn, if you're focused
on you know, lascivious pictures,
if you're thinking aboutthese things all the time,
of course you're gonna have bad thoughts.
You need to have yourthoughts in the Bible.
How can you cleanse your way
by taking heed according to your word?
So you need to fillyour life with the word,
and then that will crowdthese other things out.
But no, you don't haveto have a lobotomy, okay?
(laughs)
- Good, woo, all right.
Well here's an interesting question, Pat.
Diana writes,
"Many of Jesus's disciplesdied horrific deaths.
"Since God is more powerful than Satan,
"why did God allow this to happen?"
And I've often wondered this, too.
- Well you know that was something but,
God hasn't restrained Satan yet,
and Satan hates God's people.
And Jesus warned his disciples
they were gonna have persecution.
And Paul said, in thisworld, you'll have pressure.
And we deal with the world, the flesh, and the devil.
And the devil is still like a roaring lion
seeking whom he can devour.
So who motivated Adolf Hitler?
Who motivated Stalin?
Who motivated these wicked dictators?
It's Satanic.
And where does Satan come?
He hasn't been restrained yet.
The Bible's gonna come when he will
be bound and cast intothe fiery pit forever.
But right now, he still has freedom.
And he's bringing thispain against Christians
because he hates Christians.
So you know, Paul says,I fill up in my body
what is lacking in thesufferings of Christ.
And so we're warned that this will happen.
I know you think, wellwe shouldn't have these,
but nevertheless, I thinkif you combine Satan
with your own voice, you can restrain some
of these things fromtaking place in your life.
