- Hi, everyone.
- Yes, welcome.
- What are you doing?
- I learned in church that weneed to keep our eyes on Jesus
and not get distractedby the rest of the world.
- So you're...
- I'm trying to give Godmy undivided attention.
- And how's that working out for you?
- It's really uncomfortable.
My neck is starting to hurt.
(disappointing music)
(air whooshing)
- You know that's notwhat keeping your eyes
on Jesus really means, right?
- I know.
Obviously Jesus isn't just up in the sky.
- Okay, good.
- I just get distracted so easily.
I thought if I couldn'tsee the rest of the world,
then it'd be easier tokeep my eyes on Jesus.
- I get where you're coming from,
'cause I get super distracted too,
but that's just not practical.
- So how do I keep my eyes on Jesus?
- Hmm.
Horse blinders!(horse whinnies)
- Seriously?
- Nah, I'm just kidding.
But I already think you knowhow to keep focused on God.
- Yeah, by spending time in prayer
and reading your Bible every day.
- See, you don't need to strain your neck
by looking up all the time.
- But the world can be so distracting.
- It can, but just becausewe have our eyes on Jesus
doesn't mean we ignorethe world around us.
- It doesn't?
- Well, think about it.
Would Jesus ignore everything around him?
- He wouldn't.
He didn't.
If he did, he wouldn't havedied on the cross for us.
- Exactly.
We keep our focus on God, butwe still live in this world.
- What's that phrase?
In the world, not of it?
- Yeah, I think that ideacomes from Jesus's prayer
in John 17.
"They do not belong to thisworld any more than I do."
- But there's more tothat passage, isn't there?
(phone tapping)(air whooshing)
"Just as you sent me into the world,
I'm sending them into the world."
We're not just in the world.
We've been sent into it.
- That's a big difference.
This requires a lot more action from us.
- You're telling me!
I had it all wrong withthis staring up straight
and horse blinders thing.
- You know I was just joking
about the horse blinders, right?
- I know, I know.
I'm just realizing thatkeeping our eyes on Jesus
does not mean shuttingout the rest of the world.
- You're just now realizing that?
- By keeping my eyes on Jesus,I have a better understanding
of God's heart for the world.
- I like where this is going.
- And that means activelysharing God's love
to those around me
and telling them about Jesus.
- Ding ding ding, we have a winner!
- Thank you, but what did I win?
- A chance to tell someone about Jesus!
- I know that was my idea, but it sounds kind of scary.
- Would you rather livethe rest of your life
straining your neck?
- No, I would not.
- Remember, keep youreyes focused on Jesus
and then look around
and see who he's leading you to talk to.
- His word is forever alive.
(air whooshing)
- Do you ever have a hardtime focusing on Jesus?
- Try getting some horse blinders.
- No, we decided horse blinders
was not a solution, remember?
- Right.

(scoffing)
- [Woman] Exactly, allof that, let's use that!
- All right.
- I know that was my idea, but it sounds kind of scary.
(engine roaring)
- Wow!
(both laughing)
Nice!
That was crazy!
That's awesome!

We keep our eyes(insect buzzing)
focused on God.
Sorry. (both laughing)
Kept my eyes focused on thebug that was flying at me.
It was just like. (engine zooming)
See, that's why we don't ignorethe world around us, okay?
