- So we've got some Q&A.
- We do.
This is Richard who says
"Hi, I've been on a weight loss journey
"and finding success.
"With seven herniated disks
"and needing two new knees,
"being 53 and 450 pounds,
"for the last 10 years I've been looking
"into bariatric surgery.
"What does the Bible sayabout interior organ changes?
"Is this idolatry or disobedience?"
- I, frankly have never seen anything,
they didn't do bariatric surgery
in the Old Testament or New Testament.
When the Lord was here he healed people
and that was it.
But look, if you've got theproblems you're mentioned,
you are morbidly obese, you're in danger of dying,
and if bariatric surgery will help you
you can tie off some of your intestines
and lose some weight, I'd go for it.
- Okay.
This is Vera who says
"Psalm 139:16 says youreyes saw my unformed body,
"all the days ordained for me
"were written in your book before one
"of them came to be.
"Does this verse really mean
"you won't live a day longer
"or less than God intends?"
- I think in the long run
God knows the answer in the beginning,
he understands everything about us.
But you don't know,
and I've been praying,
the Lord has spoken to me
about a number of years.
And I've outlived all my immediate family
and I'm still going strong.
So I don't know.
I mean you ask me this,
are they preordained,
you're back to the whole idea
of free will versus foreknowledge
and preordination.
And I just think this intention,
always will be intention,
work out your own salvation (indistinct)
God works in you.
He knows obviously from the beginning,
but you don't know.
I'd do everything I can to stay healthy,
and strong for him.
(indistinct) he comes.
