Well, It's time for Your
Questions, Honest Answers.
Pat, this first one comes
from Sheri, who says,
once I heard a
Jehovah's Witness say
that when we die and go to
heaven, we all become age 31.
A while back, I heard you
say something similar.
Can you explain this
and show in the Bible
where it says this please?
Well, it says in
the Bible that we
will be like him because
we will see Him as He is.
So there's got to be--
when you're a baby, you're
not going to live as a baby
all your life in
heaven, so there's
got to be some
maturing process where
you grow up to a certain age.
If you're 95 years old
and you're kind of feeble
and infirmed, you're not going
to live that way in heaven
forever, so you have to
come back to some mean.
Jesus was in his 30s when
he ascended into heaven.
So if we are like
him, then we'll be 33.
Mm-hmm.
I think he was
33 when he died.
Listen, that works for me.
That works for [INAUDIBLE].
But I don't know, in
the Bible, who knows?
But we're going to,
as spiritual beings,
we will be spiritual
beings, we'll be spiritual.
Our bodies will be spiritual, so
it won't-- maybe age won't have
any impact on us whatsoever.
OK, this is Deborah,
who says, my family's
been faced with financial
setbacks for some months now.
We tithe and give,
yet when faced
with eviction/bankruptcy
filing, the eviction judge
ruled in favor of the landlord.
How should my family
continue to trust God when
it seems like he doesn't care?
God does care, but you have
mismanaged your own finances.
Don't blame that on God.
You know, God's given us
principles of money management.
I've written about it,
I've talked about it
in "The Sacred Kingdom"
and other books.
But if we are wise in relation
to money over the years,
we won't have these problems.
But things do happen.
Sudden illness, sudden
tragedy, they come upon us.
But if you trust God,
he'll bring you through.
The way out of the wilderness
is overcoming praise.
You continue to praise the Lord.
All right?
This is Ed, Pat, who
says, I have believed in God
all my life, but have only
started living for him a little
over three years ago.
I'm 59 years old.
I read God's word every day.
I talk to God
throughout the day,
and I tell him what my
heart's desires are.
I also thank Him all
day long for everything.
I won't even take a sip
of water from a fountain
without thanking him.
But I'm stuck right now feeling
that I'm not going anywhere.
I keep thinking, am I
doing something wrong?
I keep asking God what
should I do or stop doing?
I'm just not getting the
answer I'm looking for.
Any advice?
Yeah, you're wrapped up in
legalism, that's your problem.
You think by doing
all this stuff,
you won't even drink a sip of
water without thanking God?
That's a beautiful
thought, but it's legalism.
What you've got to do
is let the grace of God
enfold you, God's
unmerited favor.
Walk in grace.
That's what grace is.
And the Lord bless
you and keep you.
The Lord calls his face to shine
upon you and be gracious unto
you.
It's unmerited favor.
Stop trying to earn it,
stop trying to do stuff.
It's not-- you let
him do it for you
and just bask in
the joy of the Lord.
That's what you need to do.
All right?
This is John, who
says, Pat, while Jesus
was on earth, every
person who came
to him for healing was healed,
even some who were sinners.
None who asked for
healing was refused.
Why do people who
ask for healing
today often not receive it?
Well, I don't have
an answer to that.
I don't think any of us do.
But there's so many things
goes wrong in somebody's mind.
What have you done, is
there some hidden sin?
Is there some resentment
against somebody else?
Have you broken a commandment?
Do you feel guilt in your heart?
There's all this stuff,
and I don't have an answer
to all of it.
And I don't think any of
us do, but the Lord knows.
And when people came to
him on earth, you're right,
every single person who asked
for healing received it.
So does that mean
God wants to do it?
The answer is yes.
Does he want to heal you, does
he want to answer your prayers?
Yes, he does.
OK, this is Amanda, who
says in the eyes of God,
a man and woman should not
break their marriage vows.
Cheating is adultery.
So if one spouse
strays into adultery,
does the other one have
to stay in a relationship
with an adulterer?
Or would God allow this spouse
to leave the one who strayed?
I've seen so many people who
have ended their marriages
and have always wondered
what God would say.
Well, the Bible is
pretty clear about that.
That's the exception Jesus said.
You know, for this goal shall a
man leave his mother and father
and cleave to his wife and
the two shall be one flesh.
And what God has
joined together,
let not man put asunder.
However, in the cause
of unfaithfulness,
adultery, that
marriage is broken,
and that is what Jesus, that's
his exception to, you know--
We have seen many people
on this program who,
for the sake of the marriage,
have stayed the course then
found healing.
And so you're good,
you need to follow what
God is leading you in, right?
Exactly.
But, I mean, he's on
the side of restoration.
God is always on this
side of restoration.
But if you're
looking for an out--
and then I think the so-called
constructive desertion,
Paul said if the
unbelieving spouse
is pleased to depart,
let him depart,
that's the Pauline privilege.
I think, you know, God
didn't intend marriage
as some kind of a prison to put
us in so we're in hell on earth
the rest of our lives.
I just don't believe that.
So look for some way of getting
relief from the problem.
But if you can get restoration,
as Terry just said,
if you can restore that
marriage and love each other
and build together, it
will be far, far better.
OK?
That's all the time
we have for today.
Thank you.
Thank you very
much, God bless you.
