Are You Maximizing Your Potential?

Violet Williams says, “I want to help people achieve their dreams. When all of that comes together at the end, it’s really exhilarating."

With a doctorate in management and foundation in engineering and applied mathematics, Violet has thrived as an industrial engineer and automotive industry executive. She says her success is driven by her commitment to living out God’s principles of tithing and giving.

She points to Malachi 3 in the Bible.

“Malachi, chapter 3 verses 10 through 12, 'bring you all the tithe into the storehouse so that there's meat in my house, Behold, I will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing.' He said, ‘Prove Me!’”

Graduating college and in her first career job, Violet was recruited by a car manufacturer and began tithing.

“Every day is a new adventure and a new battle. I love seeing the cars roll off.  Everyone has a position to play and a role to ensure success. It’s a team effort.”

During her tenure, Violet was often promoted becoming a lifelong pattern of advancements. By 2013, she had worked her way up to a senior management position, quality director for a vehicle assembly plant.

“My salary rose 500% from what I was earning as a new college graduate in development.  The secret of the Lord is with those who feared him. And he’ll show them his covenant. Tithing, is an integral part of who I am. And it's an act of obedience and worship. I want God’s secrets. I want his innovative ideas.”

Then in 2016, after nearly 30 years in the industry, God led Violet to start her own business, Vision Quality Consulting, LLC.

“It was the strangest thing, God said to leave. ‘I want you to do other things. I'm getting ready to enlarge your territory.’”

“I've always wanted to build quality systems from the ground up, working with suppliers I was able to do that. And within that time, I received this phone call out of the blue. They told me they will lose their contract on four different models if they don't transfer and upgrade and convert their quality system. They asked me, ‘Would you consider it?”

She said yes, and through Violet’s consulting, the business remained in contract and turned around.

Reflecting on this experience, Violet goes on to say, “It just seemed to really come together in a positive, manner. I love the last seven, eight years going into corporations, partnering with CEOs, presidents, general managers, and going to help them optimize their processes. God allowed me to leverage that. That’s God’s favor and it’s not lost on me, makes we wanna tear up. It’s God.”

Today, in addition to consulting, Violet shifted her professional skills and experience into a new career—real estate.

“He told me, ‘Utilize all the corporate transfers. What you had to learn every time you had to build another house. All of those insights that you have, use that as well.’”

Through it all, violet continues to tithe. She also became a CBN Partner inspired by CBN’s commitment to truth. She loves seeing how her donations are helping people around the world.

“I started taping CBN and just watching it every day, I was like a sponge, and I was hooked instantly.”

“I know that CBN is good ground to sow in. For me personally, CBN is like a bastion of hope.
They're always there on the spot during natural disasters. I love what they're doing with Orphans Promise.”

“Your heart can go places that you can't go. Your spirit can go through sowing a seed and being consistent and being willing to give.”

With every season she credits all to honoring God in tithing,

“You have to become a tither and a giver to maximize the potential that God has created you for. You limit God when you don't obey him. You've got to give God a chance to prove Himself.”

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” Will you partner with CBN and help plant generously around the world? Your generous giving brings hope to the hopeless and the truth of God’s Word to millions around the world through our humanitarian efforts. Would Her Third Child Die Too?

Xinyao’s memories of growing up are not good.

“I was sick almost every day of my whole life,” Xinyao explains.  “It was really bad.  I hated being sick.”

His parents were just glad he was alive.  Their first two sons got pneumonia and didn’t even make it to their first birthdays.  So, the Yuans were extra careful with Xinyao.

His mother shares, “I built an altar in our house, and I said to the gods, ‘Please bless Xinyao and allow him to be healthy.’  But he always had colds, a cough and a fever.”

Xinyao adds, “I couldn’t do anything.  When I tried to walk, I got dizzy, and my heart beat really fast.  I felt terrible and had to lie down.”

When the Yuan’s brought their son to the hospital, they found out that Xinyao had a hole in his heart.

“I couldn't help but wonder if this is why my other two sons died, and we just thought they were malnourished,” expresses Mr. Yuan.  “Doctors said it was possible because heart trouble can lead to pneumonia, pulmonary hypertension and suffocation.  I vowed as long as there was hope for Xinyao, I wouldn’t let him die.”

So, on top of farming, Mr. Yuan got a job in construction and tried to borrow money for surgery, but it wasn’t enough.  And Xinyao got weaker.

“He often woke up screaming,” says Mrs. Yuan.  “He’d touch his chest and tell me, ‘Mom, my heart hurts.’”

Once, he collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital.

The doctor warned me, ‘Your son is not well.’  I was terrified,” exclaims Mr. Yuan.

His wife adds, ‘They said the hole in his heart had grown so his blood wasn’t circulating right.  He needed surgery soon, or he could die of heart failure.  I cried and asked the gods, ‘Are you going to take my child? Why do I have to suffer like this?’”

Then, one of Xinyao’s teachers told the Yuans about Operation Blessing, and you helped make it possible for Xinyao to get heart surgery.

“Xinyao has recovered well.  He eats a lot and is growing fast,” declares Mrs. Yuan.

“Now, I never get sick.  I’m strong.  I can climb mountains with my dad and I'm not tired!” adds Xinyao.

Mr. Yuan says, “I’m so grateful to the Operation Blessing donors. You saved my son and our entire family.”

Mrs. Yuan concludes, “When Xin Yao was at the hospital, Operation Blessing volunteers shared God’s love with us. They said if I wanted to pray, I should pray to Him.  He’s the one that saved Xin Yao. I don't understand everything, but I'd like to get to know this God.  I believe He loves us, and I thank Him for giving my son a new life.”

Are You Investing in Your Financial Success?

Nayomie Mendoza has a great family history of trusting God. Her father, Marcos, immigrated to California from Mexico with big dreams of opening a restaurant.

Nayomie said: “I learned that he did everything through faith. And I have seen that man pray endlessly and the doors open.”
There was something else the restaurant owner of two locations and his wife were doing – giving.

“Sometimes we didn't have enough to pay the rent, but he'd rather tithe before paying the rent,” said Nayomie. “And then you just would miraculously see a busy day that covers the rent and extra. I learned how to calculate, and I was like, wait, so he doesn't have rent, but okay, so we made this much. Now he does, and he has extra. And I know he gave the Lord his 10%.

Nayomie’s dad stepped away from the restaurant to devote more time in ministry serving as a pastor.  20-year-old Nayomie, a graduate in marketing from Biola University, was confident her new skills would grow the family business. However, shortly after Nayomie became the new owner in 2019, Covid shutdowns began.

She said, “10,000, 20,000, $30,000 in debt. And I was just like, how are we going to get through this? I was feeling like a failure. I'm going to lose the family business.”

Nayomie’s father stepped in and encouraged her to trust God.

Nayomie said, “I was ready to give up and he was just saying, no, you have to pray, that the Lord multiplies. It might seem like the world is in scarcity right now, but we have a provider.”

After the restaurant re-opened, Nayomie had little money for supplies. Still, she continued to tithe.

“I was praying to God, God, I'm so backtracked in rent and bills, and I don't know what to do anymore. Like, I’m trusting your promise and I’m tithing even if I’m at the negatives, but I need to operate somehow,” said Nayomie.

She was disappointed that she didn’t qualify for federal aid. So, she filled out an application for a grant that was a long shot.

Nayomie said, “And I’m sure they got like thousands of applications. I got that email and they're like, hey, you have been approved for the $10,000. You don't have to pay it back. Yeah, I was so relieved. I thought, hey, I could breathe a little bit, I could occupy this mental space on my creativity and that's when I just started to pivot and I started asking God, what's next?”

Naomie started posting on social media, namely the families well known chili rellenos.
The next day she woke up to over 10 million views.

“One moment we're like closing down. The next moment we're going viral, and we have a line that is out the door, and it curls through the block and our revenue went up by 80%,” said Nayomie.

Today, Cuernavaca’s Grill continues to thrive in the competitive Los Angeles culinary scene. At such a young age people often marvel at Nayomie’s success – she quickly points to who is responsible.

“The key to my success is definitely our faith in God and our obedience to tithing,” said Nayomie. “I don't think anything would be possible if we weren't tithers and givers. My mom would always say, what you plant with tears of pain, you'll reap with tears of joy. And I think we're finally at that season.”

Fleeing One War to Land in Another

Valeria is a single mom. And in 2022, she and her young sons fled her home in Ukraine and went to Israel.

"The situation in Ukraine was difficult. I knew that in this country, Israel, there is a military conflict, they have been fighting all their lives, but you feel there is this sense of security here."

They adapted quickly and Valeria had a thriving business working from home.

"I work as a manicurist…I am a podiatrist; I have a medical education.
Thank God that we found ourselves here among good people who helped us in different ways."

Then on October 7th, 2023…

Sirens

Hamas invaded Israel

"You're scared to go outside, even to go down into a bomb shelter."

"There was a big fear in me. I have to go through this again? My children have to go through war again?"

Valeria suddenly had little work. And her children were out of school stuck inside.

"They didn’t go out at all. We had problems at school. I am the only one they have, they have no one. I wasn’t making enough money."

"Any stability I had gained, after coming to Israel from Ukraine, it all collapsed, and debts started accumulating."

Then a blessing came their way…a local NGO told her that CBN Israel helps those in need.

"Immediately, the children received psychological help, and all sorts of activities to distract them. And I received a financial grant."

Thanks to you, CBN Israel helped Valeria obtain the urgent financial assistance she needed, and her sons to receive essential trauma care.

"I really want to express my sincere gratitude to the people who didn’t know us but made it possible for me to pay off my debts. You gave us material relief, and a big moral support. You gave us a quick answer and helped generously. And it really played a big role in my family."

"These good deeds show me that there is good in the world. This increased my faith. I think that good will triumph over evil."
