WITH THE US GOVERNMENT NOW FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGING UFOS, DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE HOW THEY DENY THE RAPTURE? DO YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD WORKS THROUGH ALL RELIGIONS? Read Transcript

- Hi, Pat.

My church seems to preach the Word

and I can feel the presenceof the Holy Spirit.

But they believe that womencannot cut their hair,

wear makeup and can neverwear pants, only dresses.

Men have to keep their hair short.

Also, they only baptizepeople in the name of Jesus.

They say you do not baptize people

in the name of the Father,Son and Holy Spirit.

I don't want to be a part of a church

that's teaching wrong things.

Please tell me your thoughts.

- I think people are extremely legalistic

and that's what it sounds like.

If they're that hungup on a few doctrines,

they have missed the love of God.

You know, God is love.

And if we have love, itcovers a multitude of sins.

So you remember Jesussaid to the Pharisees,

"You tithe mint and anise andcumin, but you leave apart

the most important thing, which is mercy."

And I think that church saying-

The baptism or ritual is,

"I baptize in the name of the Father,

the Son and the Holy Spirit."

That's what the Bible says, but they won't let them do it.

Well, I mean, life'stoo short to have these.

What do I advise? (laughs)

Either you talk to the people

and they're not going to listen to you.

So I think there are plenty ofchurches that love the Lord.

Find somebody that loves Jesus,is humble in their doctrine

and is open to the power of God

and believes in the Bibleand then join it, okay?

- Amen.

They lost me at no makeup.

I can't go there.

- The makeup thing, that's-

- [Host] Nobody wants that. (laughs)

- This is all superficial.

You know, it's like Colossians said,

it has the appearance of worship,

but it has nothing to do withcontrolling the basic desires.

I mean, you can put all the makeup on

and have your hair on, big things.

It doesn't have anything to do with

what's in your heart, all right?

- All about Jesus.

All right.

Here's a question from Tamara.

She says, "I have alwayswondered how the secular world

would deny the rapturewhen it takes place.

With the U.S. government nowformally acknowledging UFOs,

do you think this will be howthey deny the rapture?" Pat.

- Tamara, if I were you,

I wouldn't waste a lot of time on worrying

what the federal governmentwill do about the rapture.

Look, when Jesus comes,

the Bible says he's going tocome with a shout of a command.

He's going to send the angels

to the four corners of theearth and he'll gather his elect

from the four corners of the earth,

and they'll be caught up to bewith him in the air forever.

That's the end of things.

When that rapture takesplace, it's gonna be the end.

And who cares what thegovernment believes? (laughs)

I mean, it doesn't make a hill of beans.

They're not going to be ableto stop what God is doing.

And so if they don'tbelieve it, tough luck

because it's going to happenand the Lord will take control

of this earth and that'swhat's going to happen.

So I sure wouldn't spend my time

worrying about theirview of UFOs, all right?

- Amen.

All right, Joshua says, "Ialways had the understanding

that what God wants most is peace

and that the U.S. is a country

where all religions can work together.

One day the U.S. President

may be Muslim, Buddhist, even atheist.

So, so long as they lead with love

that would seem to bebeautiful and inspirational.

Do you believe that Godworks through all religions?

- There is truth in every place.

I mean, a little tip ofthe truth in this one

a little tip of thetruth in the other one.

But it's like having cancer.

A little bit of cancerdoesn't do a very good job.

And the error is so pervasive.

And I don't think we can embrace all kinds

of foreign ideologies.

You know, if they don'tbelieve in Jesus Christ,

died for the sins of theearth, they are the antichrist.

That's what the Bible says.

And if they don't acknowledge

that Jesus Christ is the Son of God,

they will not have salvation.

And if they don't have salvation

they won't be going to heaven.

So you don't want peoplespreading false doctrine.

Does that mean we live inharmony as best we can?

Of course we should livein peace with others.

But we cannot, you know,

in the early days of the Christian church

there was a guy named Athanasius.

And he was holding up for the fact

that Jesus Christ wasthe unique Son of God.

And there was others thatsays, well, he was later on,

and there were others ahead of him.

And Athanasius says, "Absolutely not."

And he was a hard-nosed so-and-so,but he held to the truth.

And I think we've got tohold onto to the truth

and not think we're goingto be so quote, broad-minded

that we accept all these doctrines.

We can't do it.
