- Hey, everyone.
Welcome to The Super Book Show.
- Yup, welcome.
- What are you doing?
- Group project for History.
- A group project?
Where's the group?
- I don't need them.
I know exactly how we should do this.
I'll write it up and givethe group the script.
- Wow. How giving of you?
- I know, right?
I don't need their input
and they get to coast through the project.
- You know what?
Right now you're remindingme of one of the apostles.
I might just call you by his name.
- Thanks Alex.
- You're welcome, stinky feet Pete.
- Say what?
(air whooshes)
(feet stomping)
- Stinky feet Pete?
What's that all about?
- Well, remember the Superbookepisode, the Last Supper,
the part where Jesuswashes the disciples' feet?
(water splashing)
- This is not the action of a King.
Servants wash our feet whenwe arrive from a journey,
not one who would be King.
- I know what you mean.
This is the opposite of how astar, I mean, a King should,
I mean, why is He doing this?
- You shall never wash my feet.
(air whooshes)
- Yeah, see?
Jesus is showing us howto serve each other.
Just like I'm serving my groupby writing our presentation.
- I don't know.
You look more like Peter than Jesus to me.
- Because my feet are dirty?
- No, because you're not readyto let the group serve you.
- Hold on, is Jesusteaching us how to serve
or something else?
- Yes.
- No. What?
- The Bible is way more complex
than what's the onetakeaway from this story.
Jesus is absolutely showingus how to treat each other.
- Good, so?
- Through Peter he's alsoteaching us how to be served.
It's about humility.
- I'm the most humble guy I know.
- (scoffs) Yeah, you and Peter both.
- Why shouldn't we bein the places of honor?
- Because there are moredeserving disciples.
Who understand the needsof a King and ruler.
- Judas is correct, why you John?
Why wouldn't I be in the place of honor?
- Do you really want me to answer that?
Peter who sank like a rock?
- At least I got out of the boat.
Where was your faith, John, when Jesus was asking?
- Okay, you were saying about humility?
- We're supposed to humbleourselves in serving.
We're also supposed to humbleourselves in being served.
Jesus showed us how to serve,
and how to allow othersthe gift of serving.
- But one of my ideasare better for the group
than their ideas.
- Does that sound humble?
- No, but (groans)
- Sometimes we want to act as servant,
not so much to give upour position of power,
but to be in charge.
- which is probably what I'm doing.
I control the project by notletting others participate.
- And letting others in is agood practice for salvation.
- You made a pretty big jump there.
- We want to keep control bydoing everything ourselves,
by not accepting help.
The only way to be saved fromsin is by accepting the gift
that Jesus gives us.
To let Him wash us clean.
- Take this and drink.
For this is my blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for many, forthe forgiveness of sins.
- Jesus wants us to serveand to humble ourselves
by being served.
- Right, both hard in their own ways.
- What are you doing?
- Since I'm gonna letthe group work together
on our project, I will need all this.
So let's have some fun.
- I'm in.
Bet I can throw a planethis farther than yours.
- Now that's humility.
- His word is forever alive.
(air whooshes)

Jesus is absolutely showingus how to t oh t serve treats.
- I don't need them.
I know exactly how we should do this.
I don't know (mumbles) Idon't think I know exactly.
