- Hi, everyone.(graphics whooshing)
- Welcome back to the "Superbook Show."
(graphics whooshing)
Lately, I've been trying consciously
to tell people more oftenthat I care about them.
- Wow, that's so nice.
- Thanks, Alitheia.
I just wanted to let you know
that our friendship is priceless to me.
- Excuse me?
- (scoffs) What?
- Our friendship is priceless?
How could you say that?
I thought we were good friends.
- We are, I just said that.
Wait, do you think that I meant worthless?
- Worthless, priceless,what's the difference?
- (scoffs) There's apretty big difference.
(playful chiming)
(graphic whooshing)
(graphic whooshing)
(graphic whooshing)
(graphic whooshing)
- Worthless and pricelessare two different things?
Are you sure?
- (scoffs) I'm pretty sure.
I have an idea.
Let's look up the word priceless
in the search bar of ourSuperbook Bible apps.
Huh.
(phone keyboards clacking)
- This 1 Peter one looks good.
- Yeah.
Let's just back up a verse for context.
(graphic whirring)
- All praise to God, the fatherof our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is by his great mercythat we have been born again,
because God raised JesusChrist from the dead.
- And now we live with great expectation,
and we have a priceless inheritance.
An inheritance that iskept in heaven for you,
pure and undefiled, beyond the reach
of change and decay.(graphic whirring)
- A priceless inheritance.
- Yeah, it's an inheritanceof so much value,
it can't be measured in dollars.
There's no price big enoughto express how valuable it is.
- It's priceless.
- Right.
God loves us so much that Hesent His son to die for us.
He's not gonna leave usa worthless inheritance.
- Great, now I'm confused again.
I thought you said theinheritance was priceless.
- (chuckling) I did.
- But now you're sayingit's not worthless?
- Well, they're different things.
Let's look up worthless on the Bible app.
All right, here's one.
(graphic whirring)See, they are all foolish,
worthless things.
All your idols are as empty
as the wind.(graphic whirring)
- So I was right.
When something is withoutworth, it has no value.
It's worthless.
- Yeah.
Worthless things arecheap and unsatisfying,
but worthless and pricelessare not the same things.
- So worthless thingshave little to no value,
and priceless things have so much value,
you can't put a price tag on them.
- That's right.
- So when you said ourfriendship was priceless,
you meant it was extremely valuable.
- (chuckling) Of course.
I love being your friend, Alitheia.
You're awesome.
- Well, why didn't you justsay that in the first place?
- (chuckling) Becausethen we wouldn't have
anything to talk about on the show.
