has served 18 years in the US Navy
on board fast attack submarines
deploying for six monthson multiple missions.
While submerged for weeks at a time,
Kyle had zero communicationwith his family.
He never worried about the home front,
knowing his wife, Emily, was at the helm.
- I knew that she was gonna be great.
She's very strong.
She's conquered a lot of things.
She did great, so very proud of her.
- [Narrator] Emily is a stay-at-home mom
and homeschools all four kids.
Managing the household on asailor's salary isn't easy.
In fact, the couple wasoften forced to buy food
and other necessities on creditcards and personal loans.
The monthly paymentsbecame too much to handle.
- There's a lot of worry,
a lot of how we're gonna get through,
that we're living paycheck to paycheck,
and sometimes it doesn't,it doesn't cut it.
- [Narrator] Kyle and Emilycommitted to getting out of debt
and prayed about their financial future.
However, two monthly carpayments would make it difficult
to gain any ground.
They realized it would takeyears to become debt-free.
They relied on their faiththat things would work out.
- I need to look upward and say,
"All right, Father, I need help.
I need guidance and wisdomto do the right things
to lead the correct way, and especially
in the financial realm to beable to provide for my family."
- [Narrator] Their prayers wereanswered when their church,
River Oak, contactedHelping the Home Front
and asked CBN to pay off the vehicles
to help them achieve their financial goal.
Pastor Steve Reeder shared the news.
- CBN, Helping the Home Front,River Oak want to help you.
And we want to help you by
paying off the note for your truck.
(Emily sobs)(Kyle chuckles)
And it doesn't end there.
River Oak and CBN want to pay off the note
for your van as well.
- I am floored.
I'm thinking what a huge blessing it is
'cause that's a big chunk of our paycheck
that goes towards the cars.
That's...
I'm just in awe,
very thankful and grateful
and I don't know.
- I'm thankful too, and gratefulto know that God's there
and that His people arehere to help us through,
to lean on our brothers and sisters,
to help us through this situation.
- [Narrator] CBN paid off thetwo car notes, and each month,
Kyle and Emily faithfullyapplied the extra money they had
to paying off theirloans and credit cards.
They are now very closeto being debt-free.
- I'm incredibly grateful forCBN, Helping the Home Front.
They've reached out, pickedus up, dusted us off,
and really just established us again
to be able to continuetaking one step at a time
until we can cross the finish line.
