- Story about a Christianchurch in Kenosha, Washington.
Kingdom Word Global ImpactMinistries is on a street
with many other businesses.
The entire block ofbuildings was burned down.
And the only thing that wasleft standing was the church.
And Pastor David Montgomeryand his wife, Verne't,
join us now to share more.
Thank you for being with us today, guys.
- [David] God bless you.
- Praise God.
Well, first of all, youguys re there in Kenosha.
What have you been seeing?
- [David] Well, we've beenseeing, since the riots,
the love of God beingexpressed through people
really coming together, ofall races, to kinda squash
what really, Satan is tryin' to do
painting Kenosha as a placethat has so much turmoil,
but they're such loving people, there.
So we're seeing a real surgenceof people comin' together.
- Guys, this is Wendy.
Did you ever think that people would try
to burn down your church?
- [David] Well, I'll tell ya, I've talked
with my wife many times.
The day of the protest slash riots,
several men were with me and we actually
stood outside the buildingwhile the group of protestors
and then it turned into rioting.
And you never would have thought that
they would touch a church.
We actually had a rock gothrough one of our windows
and we were yelling,"Hey, this is a church."
You never would thinkthose things would happen,
but unfortunately, it did.
- And why do you think thatyour church was spared?
- [David] Well, my personalopinion is that I believe
that what we had beendoing in the two years
that we've been in thebuilding is that God
has been moving to ministerto people who are in the area
that really need that ministry,
and I believe it's a sign ofwhat we need in this world.
I kinda tell my wife that, you know, I'm a
Oral Roberts graduateand will always have this
expect a miracle, youknow, type of mentality.
And we were looking fora miracle that night.
And I believe God gave itto us to still be a beacon
where light is dim.
- Pastor David and Verne't,as you see these types
of violent events takingplace in your city
and our nation, what isyour prayer right now?
What's on your heart to pray?
- [Verne't] Our heart to praythat people will continue
to know that God is love, and that that is why
we are continuing to changeand share to the people
in the community, that, regardless of what's going on,
God is gonna demonstrateHis power, His authority
through the love of Jesus Christ.
And that is what we want to continue to be
in that community, thatcontinue to spread love,
continue to spread the goodness,
that God is real, God is true, and God can
do anything despite fire.
Miracles still happen.
They did not leave the earth.
God is still operating inmiracles of signs and wonders.
And our church beingspared is showing people
that God is doing that.
- Amen.- Man, praise God.
- The love of God, love conquers all.
- [Verne't] Yes, exactly.
- Beautiful, thank you guys so much
for being with us.
- [Verne't] Thank youso much for having us.
- Bless the country.
