- You're watching the super book show.
Today's "Keeping It Real" question
comes from Paul M. Wood.
- Okay, cool!
- Paul asked in our, "WhyDo You Wanna Know" episode
- And we know you can't send us questions
via comment anymore.
But you can still email usany questions you may have.
(Mia laughing moderately)
- Anyway, Paul asked,
"how do I know if I'mhearing God's voice or not?"
- Great question!
(upbeat music)
- Okay, Paul.
So, it's kinda like thosecartoons where you have
the angel on one shoulderand the devil on the other.
- Um?
- Well, make sure that
you listen to the guy withthe angel wings and halo,
not the guy with the pitchfork and horns.
- I'm not sure that's howthis all works in real life,
per se but-
- (laughing sarcastically)Ofcourse it isn't,
I just wanted to start offwith something humorous.
Please continue.
- Well, Paul,
one thing you can do ismeasure what you heard
with what's in the Bible.
- Measure?
So like take out my rulerand see how big my Bible is
or-
- Compare!
Compare what you thought you heard
with what's in the scripture.
- So, what if you hear something like,
"hey, go steal candy from that baby"?
Could we assume that that's not God?
- So, if you're thinking abouttaking candy from a baby,
we're probably gonna have todo a special "Stealing" episode
of the super book show.
- So,
that's a no then?
- Why would God tell you to...
You know what? No!
- You're right. That was an easy one.
But, what if you heard something like,
"why should you be nice to that guy?
"He's always mean to you."
- Not God.
- You answered that super fast.
How do you know?
- Because Jesus saysto love your neighbor,
do good to those who hateyou and pray for the people
who mistreat you.
- Yeah, you right. God, wouldn'tsay something like that.
Who brought up theseterrible examples anyway?
- Basically, Paul.
Look at the word!
The more you read and spend time with God,
- The better you are
at hearing and distinguishing his voice?
Exactly!
As you learn more about God's nature,
it'll be easier to determine
whether you're hearing his voice or not.
- So, is hearing God'svoice clearly something
you've learned to develop over time?
- Most definitely!
For example,
let's say you were to make a mistake
and you think you hearGod's voice condemning you
or shaming you?
That is not God.
God will remind you thatwhat you did was wrong,
but he will gently correct you.
- Oh! I got this.
In "John" it says,
"for God did not send his son in the world
"to condemn the world,
"but to save the world through him."
- Girl, you are on fire!
(Mia giggling)
- Wait, did God tell you to tell me that?
(Morgan laughing)
- Anyways, Paul,
study your Bible.
The more time you spendwith God and worship,
the more you'll know his nature.
- And it'll also help you tounderstand the types of things
God would say.
- The more that you havethe words of the Bible
in your heart
and in your memory,
the easier it will be to knowhis voice with confidence.
Thanks for writing in Paul,
and for everyone else,
keep watching and keep asking questions.

Get to know him!- Get to know him!
(jet flying effect)
- Paul asks in our, "WhyDo You Want It?" Episode.
(Mia talking gibberish)
- Yeah.
Not God!
Nope!
- Well, you answered that super quick.
How do you know?- It's a no for me.
It will also help youlearn to learn the tie
to learn to learn.
Can you go again?
- You can always learn to learn,
that's a good option too.- already did!
Because Jesus said to love your neighbor.
Did I say that with an L? Sorry.
Okay.No.
- No, you are good.
- There's so much learning about God
in this one I was like, Whoa.
