- Will China use the coronavirus outbreak
to take over power in the world?
We'll be answering thatquestion with the Senator Cotton
later on today.
But first of all, steady progress,
that's the President's assessmentof where America stands
in the battle againstwhat he calls the Beast.
And what about China'srole in the pandemic?
Will the Chinese be held accountable?
We've got Arizona SenatorTom Cotton with us
and his take on this hot button issue.
But first, here's Gary Lane.
- With the $350 billion in funds set aside
for small businesses now depleted,
President Trump said over the weekend
that his administrationand members of congress
are close to reaching a deal to provide
as much as $400 billionin additional relief.
- We're continuing tonegotiate with the democrats
to get our great workersand small businesses
all over the country taken care of.
I think we're getting closeto a deal, could happen.
Could happen, a lot of goodwork has been going on.
- [Gary] Final negotiations under way
as a U.S. Chamber of Commerce poll finds
that one in 10 businesses say
they're less than one monthaway from closing permanently.
And on the jobless front,22 million Americans
have filed for unemploymentwithin the past four weeks.
Some states like Texas,South Carolina and Florida
are starting slowly to open back up.
People flocked to the beaches
in Jacksonville over the weekend.
Economist Stephen Moore,
a member of President Trump's task force
to reopen the economy,
said he expects a gradual process
with Western and Midwesternstates opening first,
then east coast states,
but he's optimistic about the weeks ahead.
- [Stephen] I really do think things are
really looking brighter now every day,
and now I'm thinkingin a month's time or so
we could really see
the American economy up and running again.
- [Gary] With the nationwide shutdown
now entering its sixth week,
protestors hit thestreets in state capitals
over the weekend in Coloradoand Washington State,
demanding to get back totheir jobs and businesses.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosisays there's an urgency
to provide more relief forhospitals, firefighters,
teachers and small businesses.
- Let's get as much as we can
for those two are helpingto fight this fight
so that we can soon open our economy.
- [Gary] And now a growingnumber of Americans
are laying blame on China.
In early February,biologist James Lyons-Weiler
told CBN News his research found
the Chinese were working onthe virus as early as 2005.
He thinks the pandemic beganas a laboratory infection.
- It's possible thatthe Chinese scientists
were trying to jump on the global market
for a coronavirus vaccinewhich would be huge
because it's a cold virus.
- [Gary] Appearing on the CBNNews program, "Faith Nation,"
author Gordon Chang agrees with the theory
that the virus may have come
from a bio-lab accident in Wuhan.
- In terms of motivation,
this is a really important question
because even though thiswas an accidental release,
Beijing had maligned motivesbecause as I mentioned,
they knew about the human tohuman transmissibility of this.
They knew and they urged countries
to accept travelers from China.
- [Gary] President Trump saysChina may be held accountable.
- If it was a mistake,a mistake is a mistake
but if they were knowinglyresponsible, yeah,
then there should be consequences.
- On Capitol Hill, SenatorTom Cotton is among
members of Congress whobelieve China is responsible
for the viral pandemic andshould be held accountable.
The Arkansas Senator beganwarning of the coronavirus
and Chinese disinformationback in January.
Gary Lane, CBN News.
- Thanks, Gary.
Senator Tom Cotton ofArkansas sounded the alarm
about the threat of thecoronavirus long before others.
He joins us now to talk about our economy
and China's role in all this.
Senator, you said Chinashould be held responsible
for every death and jobloss in the pandemic.
Why do you say that?
- Well I think it's prettyclear that China is culpable
for unleashing this pandemic on the world.
First off, as you just reported,
all the evidence, circumstantial to be sure,
but all the evidence right now,
points to these laboratories in Wuhan
as the most likely source for this virus.
Perhaps it was an accidental breach
that resulted from Chinese incompetence
but still, they knew the risks,
they knew the shortcomings in those labs
but even worse, by lateDecember, early January,
once it became clear to theChinese Communist Party leaders
that this virus was highlycontagious and deadly
and was being transmittedfrom humans to humans,
they continued to encouragetravel outside of China
to the rest of the world.
I believe that was a deliberate decision
that was designed to seedcases around the world
so China wouldn't be the only nation
that suffered a relativedecline of its power.
That's why I think China isculpable for this pandemic
and why there has to beconsequences for them.
- Senator, that's an awful charge.
Do you realize how horrible it would be?
I mean, that thing hasdestroyed the world.
I mean, people are going to besuffering, they're starving.
This pandemic all over the world
and people, the food supplyis being compromised.
I mean, to think the Chinesedid that deliberately?
- Xi Jinping and the CommunistLeadership in Beijing
would think of nothing at the deaths
of hundreds of thousands or even millions
of foreign nationals if itmeant preserving Chinese power.
Let's keep in mind that theycurrently have more than
a million religious minorities interned
in Gulag reeducation camps.
They force women to have abortions.
They harvest organsfrom political prisoners
and of course their communist fore bearers
in the Chinese CommunistParty going back to the 1940s
are responsible for the deaths
of 10s of millions of their own people.
Those kinds of peoplewould think of nothing
of putting this virusoutside of China's borders
if that's what it took to maintain
China's relative power in the world.
- Senator, you know, upin the South China Sea,
they're building islands andclaiming it's part of China.
Do you think we're gonna lookat a military confrontation
with them sometime in thenot too distant future?
- No, China doesn't want amilitary confrontation with us
and of course we should never seek
military confrontation with any nation.
We should try to resolve our differences
and if we can't achieve ourinterests in other ways.
That's one reason why, for instance,
I've said that we needto build up a military
that's capable of deterringChinese aggression
in the South China Seaor against our allies.
Why we need to bring backmore manufacturing capacity
from China back to the United States.
While we need to openAmerica's courts to lawsuits
by those who have suffered from this virus
against Chinese leaders.
There's many other steps that we can take
to ensure that China pays theconsequences for its misdeeds
well short of any kind ofmilitary confrontation.
- Well now, I understandthat they really have been
supplying a large part of our, well our medicine, our drugs,
and they are holding us hostage.
They can cut off the supply,
especially of these clinical materials
and do us terrible damage.
- Yeah, unfortunately, that's the case
and it's a terrible situationthat our leaders in Washington
have allowed to developover the last 30 years.
So in the short run, weare dependent on China
for basic drugs likeibuprofen or acetaminophen
and a lot of the protective equipment
that our great doctors andnurses need, like masks or gowns,
and China is, in fact, blockingthe export of those products
to the United States right now.
But in the near term, in themonths and the years ahead,
we cannot allow thatsituation to continue.
That's why we have to bringmanufacturing capacity
for those critical goods,
not just for our national defense,
but for our public health and safety,
out of China and backto the United States.
- Are they sending corruptstuff like Fentanyl to us too?
I mean, it looks likethat's where the source
of that medicine's coming from.
- Yeah, unfortunatelythis is just another act
of Chinese perfidy.
So they intentionallyoverproduce Fentanyl,
which does have legitimatepain management purposes,
but then they send that surplus Fentanyl
to Mexico and the cartelsuse it to lace their drugs
which they then bringinto the United States
to poison our own people
and we're losing 70,000 peoplea year from drug overdoses,
especially overdoses laced with Fentanyl.
Ultimately that goes back to China.
That's why I've proposedlegislation in the past
that would impose sanctionson Chinese officials
who are responsible for sending
that Fentanyl into our streets.
- Listen, are those sanctions gonna work
or has it gotta be somethinga little bit more robust
to take charge of it?
This is terrible, whatyou're talking about.
I mean, it's really an act ofaggression of the worst sort.
- Well the Chinese Communist Party,
like communists everywhere and always,
do not value human life.
They do not care about freedom.
They will do anything to stay in power
and that includes thosekinds of aggressive actions
against the United Statesto destabilize our society,
to sicken our people,
to achieve their goalsof increasing their power
relative to ours.
That's why there are somany steps we have to take
to ensure that China doesn'tachieve that objective.
- Well Senator, thank youso much for being with us.
This is an alarming reportbut ladies and gentlemen,
we appreciate SenatorCotton and this rather
bold statement that he's made.
Well in other news, PresidentTrump sent a message
to certain states where hebelieves governors have imposed
too much control during this crisis.
And he had a special warningfor the people of Virginia.
John Jessup has more on that.
- That's right, Pat.
President Trump singledout Virginia Democrats,
particularly Governor Ralph Northam,
over the state's recent actions,
including a new guncontrol measure tweeting,
"Liberate Virginia and saveyour great 2nd Amendment.
"It's under siege."
This after Governor Northam reinstated
a limit of purchasingone handgun per month.
That's just one of the many laws
the Democratic Governor recently signed.
Another one prohibits discrimination
based on gender identity,
regardless of the person's sex at birth.
The law could force high school girls
to compete againstbiological males in sports
and it allows no exemptionfor religious groups
or people of faith,
meaning a Christian baker could be sued
for refusing to bake a cake
for celebrating a gender transition.
Pat?
- I want you to knowthat Regent University,
the people appeared at the hearing
and they just had no standing.
The Democrats controlthe Virginia legislature
and it is just awful.
This bill has no religiousexemption whatsoever
and therefore, if there'sany particular, well,
charge against a university or a business,
because of so-called LGBTQ issues,
that particular institutioncan be held responsible
regardless of their religious faith.
So the people are talking about,
well there's got to be somekind of a declaratory judgment
because this violatesthe Federal Constitution.
So it's a major religious freedom issue.
John?
- Pat, continuing on theissue of religious freedom,
a Federal Judge blocked a Kansas order
limiting in-person attendanceat religious services
to 10 people or less.
Governor Laura Kelly issued the order
to enforce social distancing guidelines.
Apparently, the judgebelieves that might be
a violation of the 1st Amendment.
In his decision, U.S. DistrictJudge John Broomes wrote,
"Churches and religious activities
"appear to have been singled out
"among essential functionsfor stricter treatment."
The judge's ruling will remainin effect until May 2nd.
The state's stay at home order
is set to expire the next day.
Well severe thunder storms pounded
parts of the Deep South Sunday,
with hail, high winds and drenching rains.
Emergency crews inMississippi rescued drivers
trapped in floodwaters.
Some roads in Alabama wereimpassible after heavy rains.
Tornadoes were a possible threat
across parts of those states
as well as Louisiana,Georgia and South Carolina.
And the National WeatherService said Sunday
some areas were undera flash flood warning.
It was, Pat, the second Sunday in a row
that the South was poundedwith severe weather.
- Well, it's one of those strange things
but it's like everything's conspiring
against this nation right now
and these tornadoes have been devastating
and they're going all the way up
and now torrential rains, roads being closed and-
- Lots of wind in this area.- Oh, it's terrible.
I mean, power outages arecontinuous and more coming.
- We need prayer.
- We do indeed.
(laughing) All right.- We do.
Well still ahead, sex trafficked at 16.
What three words lured thisteen into a sadistic trap
and how did she survive to tell about it?
That's coming up.
But first, the treatment that could make
a world of difference in thebattle against the coronavirus.
Stay tuned for some good news after this.
(dramatic music)
(dramatic orchestral music)
- Well in the midst of the badnews, here's some good news.
More than 68,000 Americans
have fully recovered from COVID-19
and now they can help othersstruggling with the virus.
Lorie Johnson reportson a promising treatment
that could save the livesof countless Americans.
- Many people who haverecovered from COVID-19
feel as if they have a new lease on life
and are giving that gift to others.
The gift, their blood, potentiallyloaded with antibodies,
specifically designed todestroy the COVID-19 virus.
- You know, we have an immune system
that was able to fight this off on our own
and that's really, really powerful.
- [Lorie] Washington Stateresident, Elizabeth Schneider,
tested positive forCOVID-19 back in February.
Her body produced antibodiesthat got rid of the virus
and still remain in her system.
- Whatever is in my plasma, and is in my white blood cells,
is extremely useful, both for research,
but also as a therapy for other people.
- [Lorie] That's whyshe's one of thousands
of recovered coronaviruspatients donating blood.
- Each donation that goesfor direct transfusion,
can probably treat three or four people.
The protocol from theNIH allows us to collect
our COVID recovered donorsonce a week for up to 20 weeks.
- [Lorie] In Fort Worth, Texas,
lung specialist, Dr. John Burk,
gave a convalescent plasma infusion
to his patient whose immunesystem had not likely produced
enough antibodies to deal with the virus.
- Patients in needmight be on a ventilator
or about to be on a ventilator,
might be the best candidates to get
a little boost in immunity.
- [Lorie] Although Chinesedoctors report 15 patients
who received convalescentplasma were cured,
here in America studiesare still underway.
Meanwhile, doctors can treat patients
on a compassionate use basis.
- It could make a world of difference.
It could be substantial.
The truth is, we don't yet know.
It is an unproven experimental treatment.
- [Lorie] In Columbus, Ohio,
emergency room doctor Howard Worman,
recovered from the virusand donated his blood
which has been given tocritically ill patients there.
University of Chicago doctors
are also testing convalescentplasma on their patients.
- They get a transfusion, asingle transfusion of the plasma
and then we measure what happens.
- [Lorie] They sayideally donors should wait
a month after getting better.
- The amount of the antibodythat's against the virus
will have peaked at 28 days.
- While doctors can't say for sure
whether convalescent plasmaworks on COVID-19 patients,
similar treatments provedsuccessful against the Spanish Flu
and other corona viruseslike SARS and MERS.
If you were diagnosed withCOVID-19, have fully recovered
and would like to help, contactyour nearest blood bank,
such as the Red Cross.
Lorie Johnson, CBN News.
- Well that's wonderful news.
Whether it will expandadequately like its got to,
to take care of everybody, that's a,
they've gotta figure something, some way,
to multiple it many, many thousands of times
in order for it to be totallysuccessful in a population
but a few people and for a few can get it,
then God bless them.
- Absolutely.
All good news is welcome.- Amen.
- Well still to come, a YouTube favorite,
your questions and some honest answers.
Kim says, "I have such a love for animals
"and have very little love for people.
"Is there something wrong with me?"
We'll let Pat tackle that one.
But first, traffickedby five different pimps
across multiple statesfor nearly a decade,
a sex slave faces a deadly choice.
Try to run and live or stay and die.
What will she do?
Find out after this.
(dramatic orchestral music)
(dramatic orchestral music)
- Human bondage right here in America?
Kim Squires was a sex slave,
sold to five differentpimps across several states.
She was only 16 when shemet her first predator.
So what were the three words he said
to lure her into his trap?
Take a look.
- [Narrator] Growing up,
Kim just wanted to know she wasvalued and loved by someone,
but her father wasn't around
and life at home withher mother was unstable.
By the time she started sixth grade,
she'd endured years of sexualabuse from two male relatives.
- I was just in a lot of pain
and not getting the help that I needed,
so I then started acting out.
I started getting in trouble.
I started doing drugs
and the next thing youknow, I was selling drugs.
There was a big hole in my heart.
I wanted to be loved by a man.
I wanted that father's attention
but it was even moredevastating to me, I think,
to know that I had a mother
but she chose to not be a mother.
- [Narrator] Kim got pregnant at 16
and relied on a relativeto help raise her daughter.
Meanwhile, she met a man
who seemed to say all the right things
but she had stepped into atrap for human trafficking.
- One of the first thingsthat he commented to me
was, "You are beautiful."
Those were three wordsthat I had never heard
in my entire life from peoplethat were supposed to love me.
And so it literally onlytook the three words
to draw me in closer to him.
- [Narrator] The mangroomed her for three weeks,
buying her nice thingsand making promises.
Kim thought they wereleaving for a vacation
when the man she called her boyfriend
took her to a different state
and forced her to work in a strip club.
The trafficker threatened Kim and told her
not to contact her daughter,
who was still in a relative's custody.
- He began to tell me things like,
"No one is looking for you.
"No one loves you.
"You have nowhere to go.
"If you go back home,
"I know exactly where you're gonna be at
"and I'm gonna findyou and I'll kill you."
I began to feel that he's right
and this is my new life andI just better accept it.
My trafficker, he branded me.
It was his name and I had tolook at that for many years.
- [Narrator] By 25, Kim had been sold
to five different pimpsacross several states.
Eventually, she was able to escape.
- When we were driving,he like jumped across
pretty much to the back seat
and he was beating me senselessly.
He, like, threw me out andso I figured, you know what?
Either I'm gonna try to run and live today
or today he's gonna killme and I'm gonna die.
I mustered up this courage
and I started running andI ended up hitchhiking.
- [Narrator] She got her daughter back,
then she became involvedwith a drug dealer
and had a second daughter with him.
Kim thought about her life
and wanted more for her two girls.
She ended the relationship andtook her children with her.
- I had told him, "Like,I can't do this anymore.
"This drug life."
I just knew that I had two daughters
and I needed to be around forthem, not in a federal prison.
And so that's what gaveme the courage to leave.
- [Narrator] But when her excame back to her new place
causing trouble, she called the police.
Once her report was complete, the officer gave her a card.
Written on the back wasthe name of a church.
Broken and looking for hope,
Kim decided to attend Sunday service.
- I remember when I came, they were in the DNA series
and it was all about identity, who you are in Christ.
If your mother and fatherleave you and you're abandoned,
how the Lord adopts you into His family.
You are loved.
You are valuable.
You are accepted.
They were talking about this love,
a love that I had neverknown but I had wanted.
- [Narrator] Kim began studying the bible
and kept coming backto church each Sunday,
then she opened her heartto receive God's love.
She said the salvationprayer and was baptized.
- Jesus made it real to me.
Through His word, He'dspoke to me that day
and He'd said, you know, "You are free.
"You are clean.
"You are forgiven."
- [Narrator] As Kim embracedher true identity in Jesus,
she says her life was transformed.
She began to heal from her painful past.
- What He did for me, wasHe sent people into my life
to show me his love.
He would bring these motherly figures
into my life that would love me
and allow me to know what ahealthy, real love looks like,
what a mother's love looks like.
I can be that for my girls.
I can give them the love, the affection, the attention
and I can have the beautiful relationship
and watch them blossom intothese beautiful young women.
- [Narrator] Kim says when she realized
God's unconditional love,
she found her true identity and freedom.
Today, she treasures spendingtime with her daughters
and is an advocate forhuman trafficking victims.
- Now I know that my story has a purpose,
so I went through allof what I went through
so that He could use meto glorify His Kingdom.
God is our healer.
He's no respect as a personso what He did for me,
He'll do for another.
It's just all aboutsurrender in the heart.
(uplifting music)
- Isn't that a great word.
You are clean.
You are free.
You are clean and you are free.
Somebody thinks I'm in slavery
but you know, isn't thatwhat the bible said?
I have come.
They might be set free, thatthe bondage would be lifted.
The Lord wants to set you free.
Now Kim Squires was actually a slave.
It's the most horrible kind of slavery
because they're used andused and used over again.
You see a person who deals in drugs
has to buy a new supply ofdrugs every time they sell them
but somebody who has a sex slave,
can keep putting that girlout for money every time
and five times, 10 times anight and the returns are huge
and the pimps don't care about the fact
that it's a human beingbut God Almighty cares
because God heard their cry,
just like He heard the cryof the Israelites in Egypt
in the cruel bondage, He heard their cry,
and He sent somebody down to deliver them.
And God sent somebodyfor Kim to deliver her,
to set her free.
She'd never known the love of a mother,
never known the love of a father,
never known somebodysaying, "You are beautiful."
But you know, God says toher and each one of us,
"You are beautiful.
"I made you.
"I formed you.
"I knew you before youwere formed in the womb.
"I knew you and I called you.
"I have a call on your life."
And for every person inthis audience right now,
God has a call on your life.
He knows you and toHim, you are beautiful.
You see, but you don't understand.
I know I don't understandbut God understands.
He knows what you've done.
He knows every sin you've committed.
He knows every blasphemousword you've uttered.
He knows every sexual thingthat you have done wrong.
He knows every murder and every theft
and everything that'sgone on in your life.
You're not hiding one singlething from God Almighty.
He knows you like an open book
and having read the book, He still says,
"I love you and I wanna markacross that book, all paid.
"All forgiven and I'mgonna write a new one down.
"I'm gonna put your name downin the lamb's book of life.
"The old things are passed away, behold all has become you."
Would you like to be free?
Would you like to have a new life?
Kim Squires came free andshe began to know love
and then she began to be a mother,
a mother and she could givelove because she received love.
Would you like to knowthe love of God today?
Would you like to have that blessing?
If you do, I just want youto pray with me right now.
If you will ask the Lord,He will answer your prayer.
So bow your head andpray with me right now
and pray these words.
Do it as I pray, you pray with me.
Jesus, that's right.
Jesus, you know everything about me
and Lord, you know what I have done.
You know what's been done to me.
And right now, I want your love.
I want to understand that yousay before you, I'm beautiful.
I want you to talk to me, Lord,
'cause I wanna give you my life.
And at this moment, Ireceive you as my Savior.
I believe you died for me
and I made you, at thismoment, the Lord of my life.
Thank you, Lord.
In Jesus name, thank you.
Now Father, for those whoprayed with me just then,
let the power and theanointing of the Holy Spirit
come upon them and Lord, create yourself in them,
that they might be likeyou, beautiful before God.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Now if you prayed with me, I'mgoing to send you something.
It's a little booklet called "A New Day,"
and it tells you what you've just done.
You've come to the Lord and it's wonderful
and you're a new creature in Christ.
And you say, "Well howdoes all that work?"
Well, it's right here.
It's called "A New Day" andI'll give this to you free.
You just call in, let'ssay, "I prayed with Pat."
You know I was reading thebible and where it says,
"There's joy beforethe angels of my Father
"over one sinner that repents,"
and there's joy right nowamong the angels of God
because of one of you.
But if a whole bunch of you did there's,
all heaven is in an uproar because of you.
He said, "There's joy beforethe angels of my Father,
"because of one sinner that repents."
You've made the angels very happy today
and I want you toconfess what you've done.
So pick up the phone, call in, somebody's there.
They love you and justhave the good news to say,
"I just prayed with that guy on TV."
If you don't wanna giveus your name, that's fine,
but just call anyhow.
It's toll free, 1-800-700-7000.
It's easy to remember, 700-7000.
The 1-800 gets you intothe toll free system.
1-800-700-7000 and the angelsare rejoicing because of you.

- Hunger in America.
COVID-19 is making thateven more of a reality
for families who were already struggling
to put food on the table.
Before the pandemic, Adam and Sabrina Duna
faced an empty cupboard
and they had hungry teenagers to feed.
So where did they turn for help?
Take a look.
- [Narrator] Adam and Sabrina Duna
are dedicated parents whoadore their three children.
- I live for my family.
I wake up and that's all I think about,
making sure they're happy and healthy.
- My dad and my mom, they're like, super parents.
We have like a friendship bond
where I could tell them anything.
I'm really lucky.
- [Narrator] Several years ago,
a move from Nevada to Michigan opened up
a new work opportunity for Adam.
- So we came out here and Iactually had a really good job
and then they outsourced the work.
A smaller company came inand took a big pay cut.
- [Sabrina] We're like, "Okay.
"We can push this bill back another week."
- There was a lot oftimes where I had to pick
either paying all the billsoff or getting food and gas.
We got teenagers in the houseand there's nothing to eat.
It was really rough.
- [Narrator] Right whenthings were at their worst,
God brought the Dunas cartloads of food
from "Operation Blessing" partner,
Buist Community Assistance Center.
- I was so surprised.
When you go to Buist, sometimes there is
not even enough room for the food.
They have open arms and they're so nice
and they pray for you too.
Every time I left thatplace, I always said,
"Oh, God is looking out for us for sure."
- [Adam] I couldn't believe it.
I couldn't believe how much we got.
The people in Buist are theredoing God's work for Him.
- [Narrator] The food theyreceived kept them going
until Adam got a new jobdriving a delivery truck.
- Everything is juststarting to look up now.
Everything, doing it all onour own now and it feels good.
- [Narrator] They say they never would've
gotten back on theirfeet without the support
of Operation Blessing partners.
- I don't know where Iwould've been right now
if it wasn't for them.
It's definitely helpingout a lot of people.
- The kids there, they are so thankful
because I was so thankful.
- Buist are like our angels, honestly.
Thank you very much.
(uplifting music)

It's like a little table book.
You keep it there and you refer to it
with some of your life choices.
You're gonna find successbecause it's filled with wisdom
from the word of God
and then we wanna share with you also,

So you call now, 1-800-700-7000
and just say I wanna join the 700 Club,
and we say thank you in advancefor caring about others.
Okay, time for some questions.
Are you ready?- Let's go for them.
- This first one comes from Kim who says,
"I have such a love for animals
"and have very little love for people.
"Is there something wrong with me?"
- Well, yes and no.
You know, a dog does not question
whether you're smart,whether you're pretty,
whether you're fat, whether you're thin,
whether you're tall, whether you're short.
The dog just loves you unconditionally
and he just wants to beaffectionate and love you
and so it's certainly easy
to have somebody like that around.
The problem is with people,
they want to be counted as equals.
They wanna talk to you.
They wanna question you.
They want to love you.
They want to, you know,
rebuke you or whatever but I tell you,
the bible says, "How canyou say you love God,
"whom you have never seen,
"and you hate your brotherwhom you have seen?"
You know, the love of God cannot exist
under that circumstance,so you need to ask God,
"Lord, give me love for peopleas well as love for animals."
Nothing wrong with loving animals.
It's just a question,
you say you don't like people.
They are made in the image of God
and if you love God,you'll love his creatures.
All right?
- Okay, this is John, Pat, who says,
"Pat, last week you weretalking about COVID-19.
"You quoted Chronicles 7:14.
"How can God heal ourland and forgive the sins
"when abortion and same-sex marriage
"are laws and many people are anti-Israel?
"Doesn't this prevent Hishealing and forgiveness?"
- You know, I think you've put your finger
on something very important.
You know, the bible says, itsturn from their wicked ways.
They didn't get forgiven.
"They will turn from their wicked ways."
And part of what we've doneis turn, we're not turning.
We have done terrible things.
We have broken the covenantGod made with mankind.
We have violated His covenant.
We have taken the life of the innocent,
slaughtered them by the tens of millions.
Children made in the image of God
and we have abused the poor.
I mean, we've allowed this terrible plague
to spread throughout our society
and it's a small wonderGod would hold us guilty.
But the answer is, you know,
you confess your sins and forsake them,
then He heals the land.
It's not before.
You're right, okay?
- This is a fascinatingquestion from Michael.
He says, "In the book of Revelation,
"when Jesus defeated Satanat the end of the Tribulation
"and locked him away duringthe entire Millennium,
"why was Satan allowed to come back
"and wage one finalbattle before being cast
"into the lake of fire once and for all?"
- You know, I know you don'tbelieve this, but I'm not God.
(laughing)
And I honestly-- That's shocking!
(laughing)
- I honestly don't knowwhy God turned Satan loose
but maybe it's to show that even after
a Millennial of blessing,
that mankind still wouldnot serve God as he should.
I mean, that's the onlything I can figure.
But why, why, why, why?
That one I just can'tanswer because it doesn't,
you say, "Well how comeHe's turned him loose?"
Well, I don't know.
I didn't write Revelations
so I can't give you the answer, all right?
- This is Michael who says,
"I realize common sense, extra steps of caution
"are needed against COVID-19.
"At the same time, some states
"have completely banned church services
"rather than allowing small numbers
"and extra church services.
"I feel this is a borderline violation
"of the U.S. Constitution.
"The government is going overboard.
"I think President Trump should step in.
"What do you think?"
- I think the AttorneyGeneral or something.
There's no questionthat this is a violation
of the 1st Amendment,to freedom of religion.
There's no question about it
and you know, if they'll allowa liquor store to stay open,
and let people come in and theywon't let them go to church,
I mean, there's something wrong
about a society that does that, all right?
- This is Chris who says,
"I was very disturbedseeing farmers dump milk,
"eggs and throwing out vegetables.
"Couldn't they give all that to food banks
"and churches to distribute to people?
"It doesn't make sense."
- Well the answer is no they can't,
because you've gotta have trucks.
You have to have rail cars.
You have to have-
- [Terry] A system to distribute it.
- You have to have somebodydriving those trucks
and you have to have gasolinein their trucks and so forth.
We at Operation Blessinghave a hunger strike force
that has a lot of great big trucks,
refrigerated trucks and others,
so we can go out to farmsand pick up stuff and we do,
but unfortunately thisthing has hit so fast
and the farmers just haven't had a chance
to do anything about it.
All right.
- Pat, this is Jan who says,
"Pat, what do you say tothose, including my pastor,
"who don't agree with theobservance of the Lord's supper
"outside of a livegathering of the faithful?"
- I don't know where you get that.
"Where two or more gather together,
"in my name, there I amin the midst of them."
I think you could havecommunion wherever, you know,
"As long as you eat thisbread and drink this cup
"you show forth the Lord'sdeath 'til He comes."
I don't think you need alarge congregation to do that.
Okay.- I agree.
Thank you for your answers.- Thank you.
- Thank you for your questions.
We love hearing from you.
Well up next, her fatherpassed away suddenly
and she was thrust into leadership.
Yael Eckstein reveals how she's continuing
the faith legacy of her father
and passing it on to the next generation.
(uplifting music)
(uplifting music)
- Trauma from social distancingand stay at home orders
are doubly hard on Holocaust survivors.
It causes hardship andbrings back painful memories.
What a tragedy it would be for someone
to survive the Holocaust, only to die of the virus.
So says one Jewish leader
and she's doing her best to prevent that.
Take a look.
- [Narrator] Following in the footsteps
of her beloved father,Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein,
Yael Eckstein is the President
of the International Fellowshipof Christians and Jews.
Her parents made suretheir three daughters
understood and grew in their Jewish faith
by welcoming questionsand keeping the traditions
Jews have honored for millennia.
Yael's latest book,"Generation to Generation,"
celebrates and explainshow to pass down the faith
and values of Jews and Christians alike.
- Welcome back to "The700 Club," Yael Eckstein.
It's wonderful to have you with us.
- Thank you so much.
It's great to be with you.
- How is Israel copingwith the coronavirus?
- Well, I think Israelis in a unique situation
because we're used to dealing
with reality and times of crisis.
So normally, it's war androckets and today it's corona
but I think that Israel isin a relatively good place
regarding the COVID death numbers
because we've taken very early measures
before we even saw whatcould possibly happen.
We knew that this was a threat
and the government tookvery harsh measures early on
to make sure that everyone's safe.
- Your Dad has such a heartfor Holocaust survivors
and I know you've carriedthat on in your own work.
What is your organization doing to help?
- Well, the InternationalFellowship of Christians and Jews
is focused on helping theelderly, the Holocaust survivors,
the new immigrants that we bring from
the biblical land of the North from
the former Soviet Unionand Russia to Israel,
that we help them on an ongoing basis.
And as soon as we saw that,
when Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu very early on
ordered the stay at home orders,
we realized that it was these elderly
that would need more help than ever.
So immediately we established a $5 million
COVID emergency fund where we've brought
over 30,000 elderly foodboxes on an ongoing basis.
We have actually soldierspacking these food boxes
because the logistics ofgetting people together
to volunteer to pack the food boxes
is difficult when more than10 people can't be together.
So we're doing everything to reach out
to the Holocaust survivorsby phone, with food,
helping the hospitals in Israel
with emergency equipment that will be used
in the future during war as well,
and everything we do wetell the people of Israel
this is because of Christians who love you
that it was made possible.
- Let's talk about your book a little bit
because I really loved it.
"Generation to Generation," the subtitle,
"Passing On the Legacy ofFaith to Our Children."
And what is it about the Jewish faith
that intrinsically justseems to do this so well?
- Well, I don't thinkthere's any other people,
you know, when we read the bible
and we read about allof the different nations
that were around back then,
I don't think there are any of them
that are still around today.
And Israel, the people of Israel,
the Jewish people who wereexiled from their land
for over 2,000 years,
I think it's definitelysomething spiritual
that if God says in the bible,
these are the chosen nationthat will return eventually
to Israel on theshoulders of the gentiles,
that one day, there'll be worldpeace and beautiful times,
and the ancient biblicallanguage will be renewed
on the tongue of the people of Israel
and children will dance in the street.
God had to keep us alive and so I think
there's definitelysomething spiritual there
that God needed us around for some reason,
wanted us around.
But I think it's alsothat there are traditions
from the bible, thetraditions that Jesus kept.
You know, we just celebrated Passover,
that we know the Last Supperthat Jesus was eating,
matzo, right, the unleavened bread.
And so there are a lotof biblical traditions
that the Jewish people haveheld onto through this exile
which have enabled usto hold onto our faith
and pass it on to the next generation.
So in this modern-
Sorry.- I just wanna say your book
covers eight Jewish holydays and then contains
corresponding lessonsfrom the New Testament
which is so helpful to us in understanding
as we're grafted intothe vine, we believe,
you know, what our celebration ought to be
that would be on the same lineas yours as a Jewish woman.
Give us an example of that.
- Well, it's exactly what you say.
The rich olive tree of Israel, that you are the branches.
And so just as the branchesneed the roots, right,
the roots need the branches.
We see that today more now than ever
as Christians areIsrael's greatest friends
and as the Jewish peopleneed the love and support
and encouragement andprayer of Christians so much
and also, how Christians are going back
to their biblical roots largely
by learning from the Jewish tradition.
And so it's something as simple,
you could say, as the Sabbath,
that right now, I callit Yom Shekulo Shabbat.
We're in a time whereevery day is the Sabbath,
it feels like, when we're home every day
and we can't really go anywhereand everything is closed
and we're focused just onthe most important things
of being in our home, being with our family,
being in prayer, focusing onhow we can better the world,
focusing on intention and whatwe shouldn't take for granted
but really going back to thisplace of simplicity, that the,
one of the Rabbis said,
"More than the Jewish peoplehave kept the Sabbath,
"the Sabbath has kept the Jewish people."
And so I think that that'sone example that Christians,
I often hear them saythat Christians have lost
the meaning of the Sabbath.
We have the word, you know.
You could call Sundaythe Christian Sabbath,
but the meaning behind it,the intention behind it,
and these biblical holidaysare not manmade holidays.
They were given to usbecause they are good for us,
because they give us meaning
and it helps us find not only God,
but it helps us find ourselves.
- Do you have a favoriteholiday that you celebrate?
- Oh, that's a hard one!
I really look at, yeah.
It's like choosing afavorite child, right?
Each one of them is different
but you love them all the same.
You know, each holiday reallygives me different tools
that when I get to Rosh Hashanah,
the beginning of the year,
I feel like I went through this system
of getting all the tools that I needed
throughout the year fromeach of the holidays.
You know, we have Tu B'Shevat,
when both temples weredestroyed that God says,
"Okay, I want you to be happy.
"I want you to rejoicebut it's okay to be sad.
"It's okay to mournabout the right things.
"Today's a day of mourning."
And you know what?
It's important to mourn sometimes also.
And we then we have Hanukkah
where we celebrate miracles and remember
that miracles can and do happen today.
We just finished Passover, the holiday of redemption,
where I realized what am I slaves to?
What can I be redeemed from God?
What are those prayersthat I wanna pray for
that I'll be redeemed from God
in my own life today thatI really feel like it's,
a culmination of all the holidays together
that give me differenttools to be able to rejoice
and praise and worshipGod in the perfect way.
- We are running out of time
but I wanna be sure to tell folks again,
the name of the book is"Generation to Generation:
"Passing the Legacy of OurFaith to Our Children."
It's rich in what it shares.
I highly recommend it.
Yael, thank you so much.
Wonderful to have you with us.
- Thank you so much.
- Blessings to you.
- Pat?
Yechiel Eckstein was a dear, dear friend and we miss him.
Well today's Power Messageis from the Psalms.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
"May they prosper who love You."
And tomorrow, we've got Tua Tagovailoa,
perhaps he's the top NFL pick.
We'll look forward to interviewing him.
We'll see you then.
Bye bye.
