- [Gordon] Coming up,

a texting driver slamsinto a state trooper.

- And sent Carlos flying right by cars.

- [Gordon] Watch his fight for life.

- I've seen fatalities on the highway

that looked less injured than he did.

- [Gordon] And the battle in the ER.

- The biggest thing that crossed my mind

was how long is he gonna live?

- [Gordon] Now see whatgot him back on the road.

- It's too good to be true.

That's all Jesus.

- On today's "700 Club Interactive."

Well welcome to the show.

The pandemic isn't justchanging how we meet,

it's changing how we pray.

According to a Pew research poll,

more than half of all U.S. adults

have prayed for the virus to end.

- And that also includes people

who say they seldom or never pray,

and even those who say they don't belong

to any religion.

Mark Martin has the story

of a woman quarantined in Wuhan, China,

who says her faith madeall of the difference.

- [Mark] It wasn't long ago that this

was the epicenter of thecoronavirus pandemic.

Rebecca Franks has spent more than

two months quarantined in Wuhan.

She and her family moved there

after her husband took a job as a teacher.

CBN News caught up with Rebecca by Skype

after news first broke that Wuhan

had gone 24 hours with zero cases.

- It's very exciting.

We had a little celebration,

picnic with friends.

This was the day we've been waiting for

for a while so it wasjust very, very exciting.

It kind of feels likethe beginning of the end.

- [Mark] But as you can imagine

this festive mood hasnot been the norm there.

- I don't know how one couldget through this without God

because that's everything.

When the last plane left

and we knew we were staying,

I was, Philippians 4:13.

And I've always said it,

but I actually had to hang on every

single syllable of that verse.

- Philippians 4:13 in the Bible says

I can do all things throughChrist who strengthens me.

Franks says her Christian faith

is the only thing that'sheld her together.

- God has definitely beenright here in the middle of it,

it's been incredible.

- [Mark] And Rebecca Franks offers advice.

- In fear we just makeirrational decisions.

And fear and panic, they'rejust not beneficial.

So what is the point?

I mean I figure you have two options.

You can live life as you've been handed it

and do the best that you can,

or you can worry and panic,

and that just doesn't work.

It's just an easy choice to me.

- [Mark] Mark Martin, CBN News.

- Well it's an easychoice if you have faith.

That when trying times come

you have the faith to believe,

and you have the faith to persevere.

And that is determinative.

It's your outlook on whatyou're going through.

And as we're all going social isolation,

we're all getting usedto life in a pandemic,

faith can make all the difference.

That outlook what am I going to do now?

And if you turn to God you realize

yes you can indeed do all things

through Christ who strengthens you.

- Yeah, and I mean Jesus said himself

what does worrying do?

It adds literally nothing to our lives.

And so I think we just haveto remember that during this.

- Well, it actually makes it worse.

- Exactly.

(laughing)

it's very draining.

- It drains your energy.

- Absolutely.

- Instead of going productively

at what you can do.

It drains you.

- Yeah, definitely.

- Well in these tryingtimes you may be asking

how can I get through this?

A French solider asked the same question

At the time he was a prisoner of war.

He later escaped and became a monk

known as Brother Lawrence.

He made it his life's mission

to practice the presence of God.

And here's some of his advice

on how to get through difficult times.

Take courage.

God often allows us togo through difficulties

to purify our souls,

and to teach us to rely on him more.

So offer him your problems unceasingly.

And ask him for thestrength to overcome them.

Talk to him often.

Forget him as seldom as possible.

Praise him.

When the difficulties are at their worst,

go to him humbly and lovingly,

as a child goes to a loving father.

And ask for the helpyou need from his grace.

We have a God who is infinitely good,

and who knows what he is doing.

He will come and deliver you

from your present trouble

in his perfect time.

And when you may least expect it.

Hope in him more than ever.

Thank him for the strength

and patience he is giving you,

even in the midst of this trial,

for it's an evidence mark

of his concern for you.

Encourage yourself with his love,

and thank him for everything.

If we knew how much he loves us,

we would always be ready to face life,

both its pleasures and its troubles.

The difficulties of life

do not have to be unbearable.

It's the way we look at them through faith

or unbelief that makes them so.

We must be convincedthat our father is full

of love for us and that he only permits

trials to come our way for our own good.

I don't know what God has in store for me,

but I feel so serenethat it doesn't matter.

What do I have to be afraidof when I'm with him?

And that is a question for all of us.

What do I have to beafraid of when I'm in him,

when I'm with him, whenhe is all around us.

In him we live and move

and have our being.

Don't let the temporary crisis of life

interfere with that relationship.

Realize there's a sheltered place

you can go in him and he will protect you.

Now how do you get there?

Well you pray.

And it's in your prayers

that you find out how much you believe.

And you can actually hear your own belief

in what you're confessing.

Let's pray a prayer of faith.

Let's pray together a prayer of belief,

and let God shelter you today.

Let's pray.

Lord, we come to you,

and we hear that you havea place of rest for us.

You have a place of comfort for us.

We hear one of your names,

the balm of Gilead.

We hear these things.

Lord God almighty, wewant to experience them.

So shelter us under your wings.

Let us feel your tangible presence

above us, below us, behind us,

in front of us, to our right

and to our left.

Let us feel your presence and your peace.

Be the God of all comfort to us right now.

Be the prince of peace for us right now.

But most importantly be Emmanuel,

God with us, God in us, God all around us.

Manifest your presence.

We need you now.

In Jesus' name.

Amen.

And amen.

If you need prayer we're here for you.

And we're here for you 24 hours a day.

We have remote prayer counselors now.

We've gone remote.

Plenty of social distancing,

but also plenty of availability.

And so if you need prayer giveus a call, 1-800-700-7000.

- Amen.

Well coming up, what could God be saying

to the world during this pandemic?

We're gonna try and answerthat question for you

right after this.

All right well we are back

for another edition

of Q&A time with none other than Gordon.

- And none other than Ashley.

She's gonna be answering questions.

- Yes.

- And we're socially distant.

- Yes, we are social distancing.

We're keeping it safe as always.

But Gordon, I would loveto ask you the question,

and I think this is a questionmany people are asking

themselves, those in authority,

what is God trying to say to his people

through this COVID-19 pandemic?

- Okay, can I turn it back on you,

what do you think before I answer?

- Yes.

Well I would say,

you know I've listened to a lot

of prophetic people,

and I've just taken time on my own

to hear from the Lord,

and I really feel like he's just,

you know I'm just reminded

of the scripture Second Chronicles,

where it says if my people,

who are called by my name,

humble themselves, seek my face,

repent, turn from their wicked ways,

I will restore their land.

Another translation says heal their land.

And I feel like more thanever, in my heart in this,

and I know it's God's heart too,

it's for people to come back to him.

Come back to his heart.

Even those who would take a survey

and say their Christian,

but they just don't know God.

Come back to my heart,

I believe that's what he's saying.

But then also let's not be pharoses

and think we don't sin.

I think God is asking his people

to really say God, purify my heart.

What's in my heart?

Cleanse my heart, purifymy mind, my thoughts,

the desires of my heart.

And then also last night hekind of dropped something on me.

- [Gordon] Oh.

- Yeah.

He dropped something.

- [Gordon] I didn't know it was gonna.

All right, what?

- And so in addition to that

I feel like the Lord broughtto my mind the roaring 20's.

And so back in the 1920'sthe economy was booming,

arts, culture, everythingwas in this new era,

but it happened after World War I ended.

So I believe the Lord told me last night

once this war has endedwith the enemy unseen

we're gonna be in the roaring 20's,

and it's actually a setup for a comeback.

And he literally gave me this vision

where he's like, he throws a ball up,

and he's just ready tohit it out of the park.

And I just heard the crowds cheering.

He's about to do a home run,

and it's gonna be anoutpouring of his spirit

because it's a setup for a comeback.

- Yay.

- Yay.

So we gotta get excited.

- That's a wonderful world.

- No, I was genuinely excited.

You know I looked up the roaring 20's.

The economy was booming, arts, I mean

I truly Believe this isa setup for a comeback,

most importantly of hisspirit on his people.

- Yeah.

I think this is a time forus to find that spirit,

and find him.

For me personally it's been a reminder

of how many times from a sabbath point

of view did I find myself busy

doing the work of ministry

as opposed to busy finding him

and knowing him.

And so this is a time,

personally for me, of sabbath.

How can we find that rest?

It's an enforced sabbath.

Literally you can't do anything.

And what a wonderfultime to just turn to God

and say God speak to me.

Be with me.

Remind me of the greatness of your power

towards us who believe.

And let's turn to him for creative ideas.

So I'm fully on board.

Get ready for an explosion of creativity

because people are nowinto that what do I do now?

- [Ashley] Exactly.

- And are asking God for those ideas.

And I encourage you pleasepray for those ideas?

How do I navigate these times?

How do I emerge fromthis stronger and better?

And I think if we look at it through

those eyes of faith,

that God has something great for us,

if we can just grasp it.

If we can just receive it.

If we can just sit at his feet

and wait for him to speak.

- Absolutely, yeah.

I love that you said sit at his feet,

'cause you said thislast week in a teaching.

You know the Mary and Martha reference.

And he's like "Martha, Martha,

"Mary has chosen what'simportant, what's best."

And I believe that'salso what he's saying.

Just come, sit at my feet.

Sit at my feet.

Just as the woman who was repentive.

Wash his feet with perfume and her tears.

She was forgiven out of her faith.

- What would you tellfamilies who are saying

I hear you on that,

but my kids are going crazy? (laughing)

We're in close confines.

I can't find peace.

You know I long to have a prayer closet,

but I can't go there.

What would you tell them?

- I would say maybe get up before they do

and seek the Lord.

I mean sometimes,

I think there's this story

where it's a woman who had so many kids,

and she literally justput a cloth over her head

at the kitchen table and just prayed.

And that was her moment

of just stillness before the Lord.

I think, you know, ask Godfor creativity in that.

How do I get creative in even seeking you

and carving out that time

to sit at your feet, Lord?

What would you say?

- Rise early in the morning.

It's one of the great times of the day.

You are assured that there'snobody else out there.

And if you have a neighborhood

you can walk the neighborhood,

that'll get you out of the house.

Get you a little bit of exercise.

But more importantlyget you alone with God.

And that's one of the keys.

You have to get alone.

And we're in an ideal time right now.

- Where we can be alone.

- To do just that.

- Awesome.

All right, good stuff, good stuff.

Stay tuned for next week.

Well up next a highway patrol man

is hit by a texting driver.

- He had a lot of facial injuries.

He had a traumatic brain injury.

I mean his orthopedicinjuries were devastating.

Devastating.

- Hear how this trooper not only survived,

but also returned to work.

That's next.

(gentle music)

One moment state trooper Carlos Rosario

was signaling a speeding car to stop,

and the next he wasflying through the air.

Carlos had been struck by a car,

and a fellow trooper

didn't think he could possible survive.

- [Narrator] March 17, 2017,

40-year-od Florida highway patrolman

Carlos Rosario clocked a speeding car

on State Road 836.

And then signaled the driver to pull over.

Following close behind was another car.

The 26 year old driver was texting.

He didn't notice the carin front slowing down.

- I heard some tires squeaking

so I look up,

as a car kind of swervedaround another car,

and that's when I see the vehicle

collide with Carlos,

and send Carlos flying

right by our cars.

- I was a traffic homicide investigator

for a couple of years,

and I've seen death.

Unfortunately I've seen fatalities

on the highway that lookless injured than he did.

- Really it just feelslike your heart breaks.

It really does.

- [Narrator] Carlos' wife, Anna,

was at work when she got the call.

- My heart dropped.

I was just scared.

You know I didn't wantto imagine the worst.

- [Narrator] Carlos was Life Flighted

to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center in Miami.

Trauma surgeon, Dr. Carl Schulman,

was one of a large teamthat fought to save him.

- I'd say Carlos' situation

when he first got here

was about as serious as it gets.

His blood pressure was very low.

Transfusions were having to go constantly.

And we were really struggling,

and doing everything we know how to do

to keep him alive.

There were multiple times

where I thought he wasn't gonna make it.

- [Narrator] Anna arrived at the hospital

where Carlos' brother, also a trooper,

filled her in.

- I knew that it had to be really bad

because the way he looked at me

I could see the fear in his eyes.

- He had a lot of facial injuries.

He had a traumatic brain injury.

I mean his orthopedicinjuries were devastating.

Devastating.

- The biggest thing that crossed my mind

was how long is he gonna live?

And am I able to see him?

You know see his eyes once more.

- [Narrator] For hours Anna

and a room full of friends, family,

and Florida state troopers waited.

Then doctors told her theydiscovered a brain bleed

that might require additional surgery.

- I started to cry,

and my oldest son says "mom, no.

"You know that we serve a God,

"that he performs any miracle."

And we went on our knees to pray.

Everyone in that room,

they also went on their knees too.

And I said "God I know whatyou can do for my husband,

"I believe it."

Right there and then the doctors waked in

and said he was able to reactto what we were waiting for.

We don't have to performsurgery on the brain

in the area where he was bleeding.

- [Narrator] Carloslived through the night,

but was still in a coma.

For 17 days his loved ones waited

and prayed, until he finally woke up.

- And I remember seeingmy wife there with me,

hugging me, kissing me.

The doctors.

"How do you feel?"

Asking me a lot of questions.

- It was joy.

Joy and I had so much peace.

He could not talk because his mouth

was wired shut.

But the movements that he would make,

that's how I understood that,

I knew that he was gonna be okay.

I just felt it.

I know that Jesus was with him.

- [Narrator] But with multiple fractures

in his legs, arm, back and jaw,

Carlos began a very long, steep road

of physical recovery thatdidn't look promising.

- To be honest with you,

in those early days,

I didn't see him getting back to work.

- Not being able to bethere for the family,

having Anna clean me,

and until I could becomeindependent again,

those days were the worst.

- [Narrator] In the face of their fears,

the Rosario's turned to God

for hope and strength.

- Then Anna would encourage me,

and my brother would encourage me.

"Hey, no, man, throughChrist he can do it.

"Let's just pray."

- [Narrator] Just shy of three months

after the accident Carlos stunned everyone

when he took his first steps on his own.

- So when I started walking

it was exceedingly abundantlyabove all we ask or think of.

It was all him.

And I knew that day that I was gonna

be coming back to work one day.

- He has a lot of faith,

and I think that really drove him

and pushed him to knowthat he could see the end.

He knew he was gonna get better.

- [Narrator] For the next year and a half,

Carlos worked hard in his therapy

and leaned hard on god.

The support he received from all kinds

of people fueled his determination.

Carlos not only learned to walk again,

but in time began to run.

He went on to recover fully,

and to everyone's amazement

Carlos returned to work

less than two years after the accident.

- I didn't think he was gonna recover

the way he recovered.

It's pretty near miraculous.

- [Narrator] Carlos received a long letter

of apology from the driver who hit him,

and he chose to forgive him.

The young man receivedfive years probation,

a suspended license and community service.

As for Carlos and Anna,

they're thankful for each day of life.

- He's still here.

He's still here and I'm so grateful.

He means the world to me.

He's my husband.

He's my love.

I'm one big believer in prayer,

the biggest believer.

- That's just unimaginable

that love he's got for me,

and for you and for the world.

It's too good to be true.

That's all Jesus.

- Out of his love

he wants to heal us.

There's not one thing too big for God.

Nothing is too big for him.

- He is the God of theimpossible. (laughing)

- Yeah, he is the God of breakthrough.

He is healer.

He is protector.

He is deliverer.

Redeemer.

That story gets me excited.

It gets me excited.

I don't know about you.

- It gets me excited

'cause you look at that,

and you go this is absolutely impossible.

And here's a man who by all accounts

should have died the first day.

And that's what you'rehearing from the doctors.

Traumatic brain injury,

catastrophic orthopedic injuries.

And then to hear him say

the fact that I can walkis exceedingly above

all that I could ask or think.

Now he is walking today because

people agreed together in prayer,

and said God, you are theGod of the impossible.

Now listen to the words of the angel,

who said with men thesethings are impossible.

And realize with menthings are impossible.

Right now things are impossible.

But hear the next part.

But with God all things are possible.

Literally he can work above

all that you can even think about,

let alone ask for.

He can exceed all of that.

He is the one who spoke a word

and the universe came into being.

That's the amount of power

that is available to you and me.

So let's realize that.

Let's not realize our limitations.

Let's not dwell on thingsthat we've done wrong,

or all of those things.

Let's turn from all of that

and turn to him,

and realize in him there's righteousness,

there's peace, there is joy.

And they're also miracle.

So Ashley and I are going to agree.

And here's what the Biblesays about agreement.

And it's important that we have agreement.

When two or more agree touching anything.

So we're going to agree with you.

What I want you to do

is voice your need.

Ask God now for your need.

Say it out loud.

And in an act of faith,

lay your hand on that area of need.

And God is going to do the rest.

Let's pray.

Jesus we come to you.

We come to you knowing

and acknowledging that all power

in heaven and in earthhas been given to you.

So we ask you now,

as people are voicing their prayer need,

saying out loud what they need,

we ask that you wouldstretch forth your hand

and do miracles, signs and wonders today.

Heal those who are sick.

Heal those who have pain.

Provide finances for those who have need.

Supply all their need accordingto your riches and glory.

For we ask it in Jesus' name.

Ashley, God's given you something.

- Yeah, I think someone's watching

with paralysis on the left side

of your face, and God isjust healing that right now.

Just begin to move your face.

You haven't been ableto do that in a while.

God's healing that for you in Jesus' name.

Just receive that.

- There's someone you've gotextreme pain in you right jaw,

and it goes into your ear canal.

And it's a lot of swelling.

And you're afraid to goto doctors right now.

God is healing it right now.

All of that pain justleft you in an instant.

All of that discomfort.

Everything in that ear.

Everything with you right now is normal.

Be healed in Jesus' name.

Someone else with a traumaticinjury to your neck.

God is able to heal,

he's able to restore vertebra.

He's able to put everything in place.

In Jesus' name, behealed and be made whole.

We praise you for it.

Amen and amen.

- [Ashley] Amen.

- If you need healing, if you need prayer,

if you need someonejust to agree with you,

we're here for you.

Call us, 1-800-700-7000.

Here's a word from Psalm 13.

I trust in your unfailing love.

I will rejoice becauseyou have rescued me.

I will sing to the Lord

because he is good to me.

(upbeat music)
