- It's a casting nightmare tohave three different people
you're trying to cast as Patrick.
One of the first audition tapes
that I saw was from Sean.
When I saw him, I couldn'tunsee him as Patrick.
- I do not know what to say
or how I can say anymore
about the children of God who are dead,
whom the sword has touched so cruelly.
- [Jarrod] Cut.
I like that take, Idon't need another one.
- I had the opportunity to dip my toe
into the water initiallyabout 16 years ago
with a previous documentary.
I was playing the young Patrick.
So now I've got the chanceto go through his experiences
in the later part of his life.
- And then when we were looking
for a younger Patrick,
we needed to have someonewho looks like Sean,
but I have to have someonewho can really play this part
and when we came across Robert McCormack
it was such an easy choice.- Action.
- I'm very grateful tobe playing Saint Patrick
because he's such an iconicfigure for the Irish people.
He's celebrated everywherearound the world,
so it's very exciting to play him.
- We never planned onhaving John Rhys-Davies
actually play old Patrick.
- We initially just had himon to do the voiceover work
and we asked him would he come over
and play old Patrick onlocation and he agreed.
- You can see it's the same dress.
We are playing the sameperson, Saint Patrick.
- Patrick is a great paradoxof energies and emotions
and he's a wonderful character.
- [Jarrod] To actually haveJohn Rhys-Davies playing
the actual role, he fits rightin with our other Patricks.
They totally work.
