- It's a casting nightmare tohave three different people
you're trying to cast as Patrick.
One of the first auditiontapes that I saw was from Sean.
When I saw him, I couldn'tunsee him as Patrick.
- I do not know what to sayor how I can say anymore
about the children of God who are dead,
whom the sword has touched so cruelly.
- [Director] Cut.
Swipe that take, I don't need another one.
- I had the opportunity
to dip my toe into the waterinitially about 16 years ago
with the previous documentary.
I was playing the young Patrick,
so now I've got the chance
to sort of go through his experiences
in the later part of his life.
- And then, when we werelooking for a younger Patrick,
we need to have someonewho looks like Sean,
but I have to have someonewho can really play this part,
and when we came across Robert McCormack,
it was such an easy choice.
- [Director] Action.
- I'm very grateful tobe playing Saint Patrick,
because he's such an iconicfigure for the Irish people.
You celebrate everywhere around the world,
so it's very exciting to play him.
- [Jarrod] We never plannedon having John Rhys-Davies
actually play old Patrick.
- We initially just had himon to do the voiceover work
and we asked him, "Would you come over
"and play old Patrick on location?"
And he agreed.
- You see, it's the same dress.
We are playing the sameperson, Saint Patrick.
Patrick is a great paradoxof energies, and emotions,
and he's a wonderful character.
- [Jarrod] To actuallyhave John Rhys-Davies
playing the actual role,
he fits right in with our other Patrick's,
they totally work.
