- [Andrew] Coming up,
25 years in prison for acrime he didn't commit.
- I wasn't even in New York on that day.
- [Andrew] Tyler Perry speaks out.
- If you're poor andblack and disenfranchised,
how you don't even havea chance at justice.
- [Andrew] On the movement tofree the wrongly convicted.
- [Jonathan] He releasedme and delivered me.
- [Andrew] And then,
this woman ditched thediets and lost 125 pounds.
How did she do it?
Find out on today's "700 Club."
(uplifting music)
(dramatic music)
- Well welcome to "The 700 Club."
Still on a deadly rampage,
the monster coronaviruscontinues killing people
by the thousands in China,
the number of cases in the US has doubled,
and a new study shows thisvirus is deadlier than the flu.
And while we're talking about deadly,
the plague of locusts is now spreading
from Africa to Asia.
Tremendous famine may be in their wake.
George Thomas is gonnahave us more on that,
but first, here's Mark Martin
with the latest on the coronavirus.
- China's update raisedthe number of people
who have died from thecoronavirus in mainland China
to more than 1,800, and thetotal number of confirmed cases
to more than 72,000.
14 Americans infected with the coronavirus
were flown into the country Monday.
That nearly doubles thenumber of cases in the US.
Those new victims comingfrom a cruise ship in Japan,
and authorities did notdetect the infections
until the last minute.
Now, Chinese health officials releasing
the first analysis on all the victims.
The findings, about 2.3% ofcoronavirus victims died,
making it more dangerousthan the seasonal flu.
Most who succumb tothe disease, about 60%,
are in their 60s or older.
More than half of China is on lockdown
or travel restriction, and there are concerns
about how the countryinformed the world community.
- Greater concern with regard
just to this coronavirus aloneis the secrecy and control
of the Chinese Communist Party, of course.
This goes all the way backto the beginning of December.
Didn't really start comingout until mid-January.
By then, the epidemic had spread.
- [Mark] Meanwhile, we're learning more
about how the church in Chinais responding to the crisis.
The lead pastor of Root andFruit Christian Church in Wuhan,
Huang Lei, says no meetings are allowed
because of the lockdown sochurches are meeting online.
- [Interpreter] It is just notour own ideas for protection.
It is also a hard rule by the government.
No more physical meetings are allowed.
- [Mark] Churches inChina and around the world
called for three daysof fasting and prayer
in early February.
- [Interpreter] It is ourway to cry to God to repent
and ask God to stop this plague.
We ask God to help His people on earth,
help us to survive.
So with this prayer, I thinkthe children of God in Wuhan
got to closely connect withtheir brothers and sisters
all over the world toencourage one another
and care for each other.
- The virus is affecting the economy.
Apple announcing today
that it will miss its revenue forecast
due to global supply constraintsand lowered Chinese demand
due to the shutdown inmajor Chinese cities.
Mark Martin, CBN News.
- Well in other news, yesterday,
we told you about hordes of locusts
putting millions ofAfricans at risk of famine.
And now the dire threat is spreading.
Efrem Graham has morefrom our CBN newsroom.
- Pat, the plague of locustsmarching through Africa
is also invading other continents as well.
As you can see from thismap, massive group of locusts
are swarming through the Middle East
in countries like Yemen,Iran, and Pakistan into India,
with some reported even in China.
Billions of the locusts
are ravaging through EastAfrica, devastating crops.
That could lead todeadly threats of hunger
for millions of people in the region.
The United Nations has warned of the risk
of a catastrophic famine.
Pat.
- Well Senior InternationalCorrespondent George Thomas
is just back from Africa.
He joins us now.
George, I'm shocked to learn
that these locusts haveactually been spotted in China.
How is that possible?- Yeah, absolutely.
As my kids would say,Pat, that is cray-cray.
I mean, it really is crazy.
But the officials from the Foodand Agriculture Organization
warned the Chineseauthorities on February 11th
that a swarm of locusts leaving Africa
would fly across theRed Sea, across Europe,
and into the westernmost province of China
known as Xinjiang.
Incidentally, it's aprovince that I have been to.
And this is the winterseason in Xinjiang Province,
and so Chinese authoritiestold the national media
just in the last 24-48hours, they are not concerned
of any threat from these locusts
because it is winter timein Xinjiang Province,
and they say it's very unlikely
that these locusts will travelfurther inland into China.
China, as you know, Pat, hasall of the various wherewithal
to deal with this.
They've got high-tech technology.
They've even told the United Nations
that they've been trackingthis particular swarm
of locusts coming intothe western part of China,
so they're not concerned.
- Does anybody know what theorigin of these locusts from?
Where did they come from?- Yeah, that's right.
I mean, if you were to look back, in 2018.
We have a map that was providedto us by the United Nations.
Off the coast of Yemen and Oman,
there's a desert region that's primarily,
there's no water, and last year,
they got hit by torrential rainfall
and then they had twocyclones hit that very region.
That is very, very unusual, Pat.
And those conditions gave rise
and just allowed these locuststo multiply by the millions,
and now, obviously, they're concerned.
All eyes, as we focused on yesterday,
all eyes are on the Hornof Africa, East Africa.
But as you look at the map,
the border region of India and Pakistan,
they are also concerned in that region,
and also along the bothsides of the Red Sea,
Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
But right now, as you mentioned, Pat,
all eyes are on the Horn of Africa.
You see there, all thosered dots represent millions,
billions of swarms of locusts, and that is the concern.
That's where all thefocus is right now, Pat.
- George, one last question.
Do you have any knowledgeof how many people
might be affected by this from starvation?
- Yeah, I mean, if you look at...
Those who are really in thecrosshairs are folks in Africa.
I mean, India, Pakistan, Iran, China,
they all have the wherewithal.
They're not dealing withacute food shortages.
They're not so much at risk.
They have the wherewithalto deal with this.
My biggest concern is thosewho are living in Africa.
As I mentioned yesterday, that particular region
of the area that's been hit right now,
the estimates are between18 million to 20 million
are already facing acute food shortages.
This is making it worse.
Hopefully that the United Nations
and other NGOs can stepin in the next few months.
Again, the harvest andthe planting season,
the planting and the harvest season
happens between now and June,
and so really hopingthat they can curb this
before it gets any worse.
- Thank you, George.- You're welcome.
- Ladies and gentlemen, you turn to the Bible
and the Lord Jesus saidthere're gonna be famines,
there're gonna be plagues, there're gonna be earthquakes.
Famines and plagues.
So you've got the faminedeveloping through these locusts.
You've got the plague of coronavirus.
And you of course gotwars and rumors of wars
building all around the world.
I mean, it looks like...
I don't want to be somekind of an alarmist,
but it does seem that some of the things
are now coalescing tobring about a fulfillment
of biblical prophecy.
Well there's somethingthat's going on here
that I wouldn't say is biblical,
but it certainly is unfortunate,
the third worst floods inthe history of Mississippi.
Efrem has that.
- Pat, those floodwaters continue to cover
parts of the South.
In Jackson, Mississippi, hundreds of homes
affected by floodwaterscovering dozens of city streets.
While the Pearl Riverappears to have crested,
authorities are warninghundreds of evacuees in the area
not to rush back home untilthey get the all clear.
But Monday, Governor Tate Reeves did say
they don't expect higher water levels
in the central part of the state,
even though more rain is expected.
Meanwhile, the TennesseeRiver overflowed its banks
earlier in the week.
You're looking at video showingwater up to the rooftops
of homes in Hardin County.
New questions over the US military strike
that killed IranianGeneral Qassem Soleimani.
A recent White House memo to Congress
does not cite an imminent threat,
leading Democrats to questionthe legitimacy of the attack.
But one security experttells CBN's Eric Philips
there were strong indicationsof Iran's next move.
- We sat down with Michael Pregent,
a well-connected MiddleEast intelligence expert
who's also fought in that region.
He provided insight on so-called chatter
regarding the situationand how it harkened back
to the 1979 hostage situation.
(speaking foreign language)
- He was worse than Osama bin Laden.
He was worse than Baghdadi.
He was worse than Zarqawi.
- That's why last month, at my direction,
the US military executed aflawless precision strike
that killed Soleimani and terminated
his evil reign of terror forever.
- It was the best move we could've made.
- [Eric] Michael Pregent ofthe Hudson Institute says
the clear picture provided by sources
of the threat Soleimani posed
to the US Embassy in Baghdadmade his demise a must.
- The chatter was that they were gonna do
a 1979 hostage siege.
They were gonna take over the embassy,
take all the Americansin the embassy hostage,
and then broker releasefor sanctions relief.
- [Eric] While Soleimaniwas the main target,
Pregent says the other terrorleader killed in the strike
would've also played akey role in the siege.
- The chatter was they were gonna put
Abu Mahdi al Muhandisin as prime minister,
so do a coup, and then seize the embassy.
(bomb explodes)
- [Eric] Pregent says, when militia forces
penetrated the USEmbassy on December 31st,
it was essentially a dressrehearsal for what was to come.
- They walked into theembassy without weapons,
trashed it, saw how closethey could get to it,
saw that they could throw things over,
saw that they could get as close
as to almost breaking the windows,
but the US guards were on the other side.
The next thing they wanted to do
was roll through the embassy in a protest
of civilians with Iraqiflags and make it look like
the protesters were taking the embassy,
when it would actually be the militias.
- [Eric] Pregent says if Soleimani
and al-Muhandis had lived,a coup was all but certain.
- Killing Qassem Soleimani
was actually a deescalating event.
It sent a message to the regime
that the president was reallyserious about hurting Iran.
- Pregent also addressed the tidal wave
of criticism the president faced
as Democrats demanded the intelligence
that led to the decisionto take out Soleimani.
Pregent points out it'simportant to remember
that intelligence does notconfirm an imminent attack;
it only hints at one.
In Washington, Eric Philips, CBN News.
- Eric, thank you, Pat.
- That's another exclusiveyou're getting here on CBN News.
I appreciate the work thatour news team is doing
to bring you these stories.
But this is one that you don't hear.
There's so much criticismof the president.
As a matter of fact, therewas a move in the Senate
to restrict his powersfollowing the Soleimani hit,
and it turns out he averted something
that could've been atakeover of our embassy
and a possible coupfor the nation of Iraq.
Whew.
Well, there's something else,I think, we're gonna see.
I believe the Democrats
are gonna turn on MikeBloomberg like banshees.
It's gonna be anotherbloodbath of the Democrats,
and Efrem has more about that.
- Pat, billionaire Michael Bloomberg
will face his fellow Democratic candidates
for the president on the debate stage
for the very first time.
Bloomberg has qualified forWednesday night's debate
in Las Vegas, just days beforeSaturday's Nevada caucus.
He broke into double digits
in four national polls to make the cut.
An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist survey
for the former New YorkCity mayor took 19%,
ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden
and second only to frontrunner Bernie Sanders.
Pat.
- Amy Klobuchar said, "Ina debate, I can take him.
"I can't take all that television
"because it's so expensive."
But I believe, if he gets in there,
it will be a big mistake for him
because they're gonna go after him
for sexist remarks he'smade, for racial things
that had to do with that stop and frisk.
He's gonna be so vulnerable.
And to be in the midst of that,
and he will be the targetof every one of them.
What does it say?
When you're enemy is killinghimself, don't stop them.
Well, let it go.
Terry.
- Well, coming up, 25 years in prison
for a crime he didn't commit.
How did a piece of paperfinally set him free?
And why is he not bitter about it?
Then later on, meet awoman who lost 125 pounds
without dieting.
What did a cooking pothave to do with that?
You'll find out on today's "700 Club."
(inspirational music)
(dramatic music)
- Well if you're like me,you're sickened by reports
of prosecutors whodeliberately suppress evidence
in order to get convictions, those who suborn perjury,
who know that something is fixed,
and yet, they go ahead toget a prosecution anyhow
because they feel that theymust go before the voters
to say, "Look, I'm hard on crime."
Well, we've got a case today
of a man who clearly was in another state
when a murder took place.
He could not have done it,
and yet, they convicted him anyhow
and deliberately suppressed the evidence.
Now we can't have that.
If we're going to supportthe justice system,
justice must be fair.
The whole idea of LadyJustice with a blindfold
and the scale holding up,that's what we want to have.
But prosecutors don't look at it that way,
at least some of them don't.
Not many, but some do.
And the idea that youcan suppress evidence
in order to get a conviction is sickening.
Well can you imaginespending 25 years in prison
for a crime you didn't commit?
20,000 innocent peopleare behind bars in America
because of some of these things,
including the man you're about to meet.
As Charlene Aaron tells us,
he spent a quarter of a century in prison,
wrongly convicted of a murder
that the prosecutors knewhe couldn't have committed.
- Jonathan Fleming spentnearly 25 years in prison
for a crime he didn't commit.
Thanks to attorneys takinga closer look at his case,
Fleming was released andnow wants to help others
who have also been wrongfully convicted.
In 1989, jurors convictedFleming of second-degree murder
in the death of a New York drug dealer.
Fleming, who also solddrugs and knew the man,
says he had a solid alibi.
- I happened to be inFlorida with my family
at the time when my friend was killed.
I had took my oldestson to Orlando, Florida
for his birthday, for his ninth birthday.
- [Charlene] Prosecutors argued
Fleming could have returned toBrooklyn to commit the crime.
They also produced a witness
who testified seeingFleming pull the trigger.
- She said that she actuallyseen me do this murder.
And I know for a fact, Iwould say to myself that,
"It's not true because Iwasn't even in New York
"on that day."
- [Charlene] Fleming, however, was found guilty
and spent the next 24 yearsof his life behind bars.
- Prison was really rough.
I was in prison for something I didn't do.
So I did start gettingin a lot of trouble.
But I was very angry.
- [Charlene] And that anger consumed him
until an experience at a church service.
- And I don't rememberwhat the word that day was,
but I found myself standingup and I walked forward,
and I turned my life over to God.
- [Charlene] A spiritual transformation
that answered long timeprayers for his ex-wife.
- And I just listened tohim go on and on and on
about what the pastor had preached
and how he's found himself getting up
and going towards the altarand, "Yeah, this feel so good
"and I don't know what I'mfeeling, but I'm excited, Trish.
"I'm excited."
And I was like, "God is just awesome."
- [Charlene] Fleming spent years
trying to prove his innocence, and a break finally came
when Brooklyn's ConvictionReview Unit took his case.
Attorneys found evidence proving Fleming
could not have been in NewYork at the time of the murder,
information authorities never turned over
to his defense team.
- We were able to discover a document,
a receipt which had beentaken from Mr. Fleming
at the time of his arrest.
That of course meant thatthe eyewitness testimony
that had been produced inthat case for the effect
of an eyewitness sayingthat they saw Mr. Fleming
commit the shooting, homicide, was false.
- [Charlene] These investigative teams,
also known as integrity review units,
are spreading across the country.
And in 2018 alone, statistics show
they helped free 58wrongfully convicted people.
- There were probablyless than 20 such units
around the country.
Since that time and through the success
that we had initially and continue to have
with regard to our conviction review unit,
that number has more than doubled
to the point where we havemore than 40 such units
around the country.
- [Charlene] A new team in Georgia
helped free DarrellHall, sentenced to life
for possessing two gramsof cocaine in 1991.
Media mogul Tyler Perryrecently gave him a job
at his Atlanta studios.
- He said he was havingtrouble getting a job.
I'm like, "Well, look around.
"We got lots of room around here.
"Come on, let's go to work."
And it just shows you the level of how,
if you're poor and blackand disenfranchised,
how you don't even have achance at justice in most cases.
- [Charlene] In Fleming's case,
justice arrived on April 8th, 2014.
- It was like my lifestarting all over again.
I was so happy.
And the judge said,"Your case is dismissed,"
and the first thing I did,
I turned around andwent right to my mother.
- While Fleming is gratefulfor the work of attorneys
and investigators, he saysthe real credit goes to God.
- He released me and delivered me
when he felt that I was ready.
But it wasn't until Iturned my life over to Him
that things started happening.
- [Charlene] That includesletting go of the anger
towards those responsible for robbing him
of nearly 25 years of his life.
- I was able to forgive
because He forgave me forthe things that I've done.
- [Charlene] Meanwhile, the state of New York
awarded Fleming $6 million forhis wrongful incarceration,
something he hopes to use to help others
through the Jonathan Fleming Foundation.
- When I came home, I had no housing.
I had to stay with my cousinfor the first eight months.
When I came home, I didn't have nothing.
I want to help people, when they come home,
try to provide them withhomes, places to stay,
places that they could goto when they are released.
Because a lot of times,we are just pushed out
with nowhere to go.
- [Charlene] Charlene Aaron, CBN News,
Raleigh, North Carolina.
- What a touching story.
You know, we read in the Bible,
you should not exonerate the guilty.
If you find somebody whohas indeed done something,
then there needs to beappropriate punishment.
But to convict an innocent person
and deliberately withhold evidence
that would exonerate himis absolutely culpable,
it is criminal, andmany of the prosecutors
don't have to pay the price.
But Jonathan Fleming paid the price,
but thank goodness, he'sfound forgiveness and he...
Unless you forgive, you can'treceive the blessing of God,
and he is receiving it.
If I had a hat on, I'd tipmy hat to him and salute him.
Jonathan, you're a great guy.
Terry.
Well, coming up, a YouTube favorite,
your questions and some honest answers.
Pat says this.
Hi Pat, you gave a wordthat gambling was a sin.
I like to go to the arcade and play games.
Is this a sin also?
Pat tells it like it is later on.
And then, her post firstwent viral on Facebook.
Today, she has 100,000 followers.
Author and bloggerBrittany Williams tells us
how she lost 125 poundswith the help of a pot.
See why she calls her cookbook"Instant Loss" after this.
(inspirational music)
(uplifting music)
In April, three years ago,
Brittany Williams went on Facebook
to share how a cookingpot had changed her life.
Well that post wentviral, and as they say,
the rest is history.
Take a look.
- [Andrew] Bestsellingauthor Brittany Williams
struggled with her weightand yo-yo dieting for years.
When her four-year-old daughter
was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis,
Brittany began researchinganti-inflammatory foods
to help her get better.
Making those meals notonly helped her family,
but Brittany startedlosing weight quickly.
In her book, "Instant Loss:Eat Real, Lose Weight,"
Brittany shares how makingquick and easy meals
using wholesomeingredients in her instapot
helped her lose 125 pounds.
- Please welcome to "The 700Club" the instapot Queen,
Brittany Williams.
Does everybody call you that?
- Sometimes.
Thanks for having me.- Pretty much, right?
- Yes.- So let's look at,
this is an instapot.
I don't have one of thesebut I hear they're amazing.
This all started, you asked your husband
for one for Christmas?
Did you want it or you?
- I wanted a stovetop pressure cooker.
You know, one of those
old-fashioned kinds- Yeah, the old-fashioned one.
Yes.- I didn't even know
electric pressure cookers existed.
My husband did a lot of research
and he found one of these on Amazon
and he brought it home andI looked at the box and
- Kinda sat there for a while.- put it away.
- Yeah.- Yeah, I put it away
'cause I was like, "Ican't do one more thing.
"I'm a busy mom."
- [Terry] I hear you.
- I had two kids.
I was pregnant withanother baby at that time
and--- It's a lot of buttons.
You gotta (chuckles).- So many buttons.
I'm like, "How does anybodylearn how to do this?"
But he told me, "I'm gonna return it,"
'cause it was a lot ofmoney, and back then it was.
Now, you can get one for like 50 bucks,
but back then, it was $125.
And so I decided, you know what,
I'm just gonna try my hand at it.
I'm gonna cook a cup of rice.
If I fail, it was only, like what, 15 cents?
Not a big deal.
- And the big deal about this
is it does it fast and it does it well,
so you cooked the rice, therice was perfection, right?
- It was perfection,
and it was so muchfaster than the stovetop.
- So why, how did doingthis cause the weight loss?
125 pounds is a lot weight to lose.
What were you doing beforethat the instapot solved?
- I think that one of my biggest excuses
for not eating healthy wasthat I didn't have the time.
And I'm kind of a procrastinator.
I'm very artistic and I like to move
when the movement moves me.
You know?
But what I learned was
that you sometimes have to have discipline
and it can't always bebased off of motivation,
- Yes.- and so this kind of solved
my time issue because, unlikewith a conventional Crock-Pot
or a slow cooker, youdon't have to plan ahead.
You can throw frozeningredients right into the pot,
it cooks things very, very fast,
and you're gonna have dinner on the table
in under 30 minutes.
- So what other changes did you make
in your diet at that point?
- So when we first started this,
we went on an auto-immune protocol diet,
which is an anti-inflammatory diet.
You get rid of grainsand nightshades and dairy
and anything that can causeinflammation in the body
'cause my daughter was struggling
with an auto-immune disease.
But you only do a diet likethat for a period of time
and then you can beginadding things back in
to see if the person has any triggers.
So "Instant Loss" is kindof the results of that.
We began to add things back into our diet.
So it's not all anti-inflammatory,
but many of the foodsare anti-inflammatory
and they're very high in foods
that are gonna havethose anti-inflammatory
properties.- So let's look at
what you're gonna make here today.
This is chicken.
- This is chicken.
So these are chicken tenders.
You can also use chicken breasts.
And they're just cut into pieces.
I'm just gonna kind of pour it all
in the pot there.- Okay.
- I'm gonna show you howquick and easy this is.
So this is salsa verde.
It's a green salsa.
You just throw that in there as well.
And then we have some red salsa.
Dump it in.
And then this is myhomemade taco seasoning.
- Ooh.- Store-bought
taco seasonings canhave anti-caking agents.
They can also have lots of sugar.
So I prefer to make my own at home,
and these are gonna be spices
that you usually already have on hand.
Then you're just gonna seal, lock the pot,
make sure that the vent valve
is in the sealing position,- Okay.
- and then you're just goingto program it and it's gonna
do its thing.- And how long
would that take?
- This is gonna take under 30 minutes
from start to finish.- Really?
- Yes.- Wow.
That's--- And you can use
frozen chicken breasts as well.
- So we have, because it'sthe magic of television,
we have the finished product.
Here, I want you to see it.
This, I mean this is big.
You could feed a lot of people with this.
- Absolutely.- So here you've got
the chicken now cooked
- Yep, it's all cooked.- 'cause it came out of the--
- It's all shredded up.
It shreds so nicely.
It's gonna be just fallingapart when you take the lid
off of the pot.- Okay.
- [Brittany] I like to shredmine with a hand mixer.
- A-ha.- It kinda makes things
a little bit more fun,- Okay.
- and then you're not,you don't have to work
your arms as much.- Machinery.
- You just whoo.
- Okay, so we're gonnamake chicken tacos here.
- Yes.- Let's,
let's look at what,
what we have.- These are homemade
tortillas.
I have this recipe in my book,
"Instant Loss: Eat Real, Lose Weight."
- [Terry] Oh, this is awesome.
- Yeah, they're very yummy,- Okay, I'm gonna let you
show us how you do this.- very flexible.
I'm gonna grab a plate here.
And then we're just going to top it
with a little bit of chicken.
And my family is dairy-free,
well, half of us are dairy-free
and the other half eat dairy,
so everything in the book is dairy
optional.- I'll hold this for you.
- So you can, of course, putcheese on this if you'd like.
- You're putting my favorite.- I'm just gonna top it it,
yeah, with some- A little guacamole,
right?- yummy guacamole.
We're gonna do a little bitof lettuce on the side here.
(spoon clinks)
And then, of course, we havea little bit of extra salsa.
I like my stuff spicy.- Delicious-looking.
Mm-mm-mm.
There's the finishedproduct up there in front,
but this is all so fresh.
Let's move back down here because I know,
I want people to seesome of the other things
you're able to make.
This is a carrot mango
smoothie?- That's right.
Yeah.- Is that right?
- That's right, so if I'm doingsomething like chicken tacos
and I know I'm gonna be eating something
that's a little bit more starchy,
carbohydrate heavy for dinner or lunch,
I'm gonna do something likea smoothie for breakfast.
- Okay.- It's just a little bit
lighter.
I don't want to have threeheavy meals in a row.
So I do a lot of smoothies.
This one just has some mango, carrots,
coconut water.- Okay.
- Very, very simple.- This is beautiful,
this salad.
- This is an autumn arugula salad.
I call it an autumn salad
'cause it has a lot of those--
- Veggies from the fall?- That's right.
And I love to buy seasonally.
I find that I can keep mybudget costs down a lot
when I'm buying seasonally.- Awesome.
That is gorgeous.
Then moving over here.
Well we saw the chicken tacos,
and what is this?
- That's called my lazyday minestrone soup.
It's great because you don't have to have
any fresh ingredientson hand for this soup.
So it's awesome for those nights
where you don't haveanything in the refrigerator
or things maybe sat inthere a little bit too long.
Just open up the refrigerator,
pull out a bag of frozen mixed veggies,
a little bit of gluten-free pasta,
and this comes togetherin under 15 minutes.
- Wow.
And then, you're not sayingwe can't have dessert.
This looks pretty wonderful, actually.
Tell me about this.
- [Brittany] People ask me what to do
when you have cravings forthings and I say feed 'em.
(laughing)
- I like that.- Feed your cravings.

to larger binge cycles- Yes,

- Well Dr. David McDonald found himself
on the flip side of medicine
after the doctor became the patient.
His health went south very quickly
and he was unable to work.
With six kids, David and his wife
could've cut back on their giving.
Instead, they doubled down.
Watch this.
- [Andrew] As a doctor,David McDonald's passion
is helping people, which iswhy he and his wife, Joanna,
are CBN partners.
- We'd see these stories aboutanother well being put in
or another family havinga surgical procedure,
and so I thought, "Wait, this is practical giving."
We joined at the lowest leveland then, as we watched more,
we felt compelled to keepincreasing our giving,
even through some very toughtimes, and God was faithful.
- [Andrew] One particularlytough time came in 2003
when David had an illnessand was unable to work.
- My health went southreally quick and bad
so I couldn't make a living.
We're having a hard time paying rent.
Through that season, especially because of my wife,
we continued to give eventhough it wasn't easy at all.
- [Andrew] The couple kept giving,
even with six young children to care for.
By 2006, David had finally recovered.
He then got a job as a medical director
of a correctional facility
and was later able toopen his own practice.
- We just kept on being faithful
and then, as I would see stories
about people who wereincreasing their giving
as they started comingout of the wilderness,
I thought, "Well, we can do that too.
"I mean, we can double what we're giving."
And then I thought, "Oh,we can double again,"
you know, as time went on.
- [Andrew] Now members of 1000 Club,
the McDonalds encourage others to give.
- I've tried to outgive God a few times.
You can't do it.
You can't.
(gentle music)
- You know what the Lord,
there's only one thing thatwe're told to prove God.
You're not supposed to temptthe Lord, that's a sin,
but you can prove Him with your gifts,
with your tithes and your offerings.
So when we give unto theLord, the Lord is obligated,
He's obligated Himself to take care of you
and to pour you out such ablessing, you can't contain it.
You can join the 700 Club.
The number's on the screen.
You know, we help peopleall over the world
and I would say help us help others.
And the doctor found the answer.
He needed the blessing ofGod, but God gave it to him.
And what's a 700 Club membership?
$20 a month or 65 cents a day.
It's not very much.
But if all of us together do something,
it gets to be a mighty army.
We can effectuate deliverance
to millions of peopleall around the world.
And some of you, as they said, they doubled, doubled down.
He went to $40 a month, thenhe went to $100 a month,
and so forth, whatever.
But I ask you to call inright now, 1-800-700-7000.
Say, "You can count on me asa member of the 700 Club."
And I want to announce today,
we're offering, whenyou join the 700 Club,
I have a book that we've been offering
called the "Ten Laws of Success."
It'll tell you how to have a better life.
And then, my new book,I'll give you the first
two chapters of- It's a sneak peek, right?
- "I Have Walked With the Living God."
It is bold and it'shonest an it's revealing.
It shows how you can and your wife
can enter into a whole newdimension in God's power.
It has to do withovercoming demonic power.
It has to do with putting CBN on the air.
It has to do with a political campaign.
It's got all kinds of things in it to see.
- It's wonderful.
I read it this morning
and it's--- Did you?
- Two chapters.
You get to whet your appetite.
But the book is coming, right,
the full book?- It'll be in the markets
by about the first of June, I hope.
"I Have Walked With the Living God."
But this is an advance,we'll give this to you
as the 700 Club, "I HaveWalked With the Living God."
- And we should say that those of you
who are 700 Club members willbe receiving this as well.
- Yes, ma'am.
So they'll get the "Ten Laws of Success"
and "I Have Walked With the Living God."
But if you want the full book,it's available on Amazon.
It will be available in June.
So what do you have there?
- Well I've got some questions
for you.- Oh, you got questions.
All right.
- Are you ready?- Well let me,
on this one again.
The number to call is 1-800-700-7000.
The laws of success, we'll give you
and this is a greatprimer to give your child.
For example, he's going to college
and he wants to knowhow to handle his money,
he's gonna get married
and how to have a successful marriage.
It's all in here.
And this, "I've WalkedWith the Living God,"
is a story of 90 years ofthe faithful promises of God
and the miracles that God has done
all the way through a political campaign
and the origins of CBN, theorigins of Operation Blessing,
the origins of, you know--- ACLJ and the--
- Oh, everything.
And why do you ask God andhow to have a quiet time
and how you can get theanswers to your prayer.
I mean, it's a tremendous book.
- There's something for everybody
- It is, it's just loaded.- in there, absolutely.
- It's my life and 90years of walking with God.
All right.
- Okay.
We're gonna take a few minutes here
to answer some of thequestions you all have sent in.
Pat, the first one comes from Patty,
who says: Hi, Pat.
I value your honest answersand I like going to the casino.
Then you gave a wordthat gambling was a sin.
However, when I was going,
I did not use our tithe or bill money.
I have cut way down ongoing to the casino.
Now I like to go thearcade and play games.
Is this a sin also?
- I didn't say gambling was a sin.
What I said is it's tempting God
at the turn of a card orthe spin of the wheel,
that you're asking God for a miracle.
But, you know, I just don't think
you want to go to a gambling place.
I mean, that is just filled with evil.
You know, you just don't wanna,
I mean, there're waitressesgoing around in scanty costumes,
they're drinking all around the place,
there're people who areinveterate gamblers.
That's not the environmentyou wanna be in.
I'm sorry.
The idea that you put acoin in the slot machine,
pull a handle, and walkaway, that's something else,
but gambling is addictive.
It is addictive, believe it.
I know what I'm talking about.
- So now Patty says shelikes to go to an arcade
and play games, but there's nothing
wrong with that?- Well I don't, exactly.
It's shooting bullets.
I don't know what that is.
Okay.
- Okay.
This is Julie, who says
Revelation 3:5 in the NewKing James Version says:
He who overcomes shall beclothed in white garments,
and I will not blot out hisname from the Book of Life;
but I will confess hisname before My Father
and before His angels.
Even though this is a messageto the Church of Sardis,
I feel as though it's amessage for all of us today.
When does our name getwritten in the Book of Life?
Is it when we are born into this world
or when we're saved?
Also, what is the basis forour name getting removed
from the Book of Life?
- All right, I'll answerthe second part first.
I believe the name being removed
had to do with the whole church.
I think it was aninstitutional thing that,
they're talking about candles,
they're talking about a Church of Sardis
and you will be taken, the whole church,
because of its, whatever it failed to do,
would be taken out.
I don't think that it's telling you
that God's gonna blot your name out.
Now when are you writtenin the Book of Life?
I think when you accept Jesus as Savior,
when you're born again andyour spirit is transformed
and you are a new creature in Christ.
But does God blot you out then?
No.
He said the Lord will keepyou, He's greater than all,
and no man will take youout of My Father's hand.
I just don't think thatthat's what God intended.
I don't think that what that means.
It has to do with the church, I believe,
that he's talking about.
All right, what's?- This is Kevin, who says:
Why does God have aparticular problem with liars?
What's wrong with lying?
- What's wrong with lying?- Mm-hmm.
- You know, the devil is aliar and the father of lies.
The seat is at the heart of,
of the, what he told Eve in the Garden.
He lied to Eve and Evepassed that on to Adam
and the human race lostits position in paradise.
What's wrong with lying?
The Lord hates liars.
Why?
A deceitful tongue because you are doing
the bidding of Satan himself, that's why He hates it.
All right?
- Mm-hmm, absolutely.
That's all the time we havefor today, but thank you.
Good questions.
- Okay.
Next, all right (laughs).
Is that all the questions we got?
- That's all we've got.- All right, well 13 years old
and hiding out in a bus station,
Lisa Piscopo was a perfect target
for the nicely dressedwoman who befriended her.
But she didn't realizeshe was being groomed
as a prostitute for ahigh-end escort service.
But that was just the beginning
of Lisa's descent into a living hell.
- I had no identity.
I just was searching andseeking for something,
so I just became a runner andstarted seeking elsewhere.
- [Narrator] Lisa Piscopo's parents,
who married before either were 20,
were stressed and seemed more concerned
about making a living thancaring for their daughter.
- I remember they used to fight a lot,
so I spent a lot of my childhood alone.
I was very confused.
All I wanted was for them to love me.
- [Narrator] The birth ofa sister and then a brother
only widened the gap betweenLisa and her parents.
Being six years older,
Lisa had to spend more time doing chores,
cleaning the house, andtaking care of her siblings.
- I felt more of thehelp than I did a child.
I just felt unloved.
I felt like I didn't fit in anywhere.
I was very angry.
- [Narrator] At 13, shestarted running away
to friends' homes, hidingout sometimes for days
until her parents found her.
They dealt with her behaviorby putting Lisa in counseling
at a juvenile detention center.
- And that made it even worsebecause I was so broken.
The more they pushed, themore rebellious I got.
- [Narrator] That same year,Lisa finally ran away for good
when she got on a bus to New York City.
For several weeks, she hidout at the bus station,
panhandling and avoidingsecurity and police.
That made her an easy targetfor the nicely dressed woman
who frequented the bus station.
- She would bring me stuffand she would always tell me
about these great partiesthat she was coming from.
I felt like she did care aboutme and she wanted to help me.
- [Narrator] With promise ofsafety and a place to stay,
Lisa accepted the woman'sinvitation to come home with her.
But she had another motive,
to groom Lisa into her andher boyfriend's business,
a high-end escort service.
- Your whole life is changing.
You become a teenager, you're going through puberty,
and you're lost, so I wasvery naive and vulnerable.
- [Narrator] At first, Lisadidn't work as an escort,
instead helping out andlearning the business.
Within the first year, she meta New York City drug kingpin
who decided to take her on andteach her the drug business.
Lisa began doing drugs herself, the loneliness of her past
seemingly fading away in the addiction.
- I felt that I had a lot of power
and I felt I had a lot of control.
I think that the lovethat I was searching for,
I had numbed with the drugs.
- [Narrator] For the next20 years, drug dealing,
prostitution, and addictionwould command Lisa's life.
Her only attempt to takecontrol of it coming at 21
when she spent a year injail for drug possession.
But she soon was runningback into her old lifestyle.
- That addiction and thatlifestyle and the whole power
and money and control and cocaine,
it was just, it pulledme, it pulled me back.
I had no idea who I was.
Nobody loved me for me.
- [Narrator] Then, in2003, at the age of 35,
she was arrested and sentencedto 10 years in prison.
This time, she knewsomething had to change.
- So when I was in that cold cell,
I hit my knees and Ijust cried and I wept.
And I looked at everythingthat I had lost.
All that can be replaced.
What about my soul?
What about me?
I was broken.
I was just, I was, I was done.
I was done.
Then, a memory Lisa had longsuppressed came to the surface.
Lisa was at church with her mom.
- My mom's always loved God.
And she took me to a Pentecostal church
right before I reallystarted breaking bad.
And they asked if anybodywanted to receive Christ
as their savior, and I was like, "Me."
- [Narrator] It had been aspur-of-the moment decision
that was quickly forgotten.
But in this moment, it wasenough to make Lisa realize
Jesus was the only wayto turn her life around.
- I just knew that this was an opportunity
for me to become something more
than what I had allowedmyself to be in the past.
- [Narrator] She began attendingchurch services in prison.
- I would go every day outinto what's called the yard.
I would just look up at the sky
and I would look at all the trees
and I would look at allthe different things
and I was looking to God.
And I really, truly believe
that He started to speak to me inside.
There was a change insidemy being, in my soul,
because of who God is.
Even though I had gone astray,
I knew that He still loved me.
- [Narrator] Lisa committedto living her life for Christ.
Now forgiven, she started seeingherself through God's eyes.
- The freedom truly came knowingthat there's a purpose now,
that everything that I was looking for
when I was a little girl, that purpose, that identity,
I've realized through this whole process
that the identity that Ihave now in who He says I am.
- [Narrator] After five years,
Lisa was released onprobation for good behavior.
She got an honest job,
knowing that her lifewould never be the same.
- I knew that God had a planand a purpose for my life.
I didn't know what it was,
but I knew that I was not going back.
- [Narrator] Lisa mended herrelationship with her parents,
and today, she owns her own successful
online marketing businessand is an ordained minister.
She uses her testimony to point others
to the saving power of a loving God.
- God filled me with His love.
He filled me with something
that I had been looking for my entire life
that you can't get from aperson, you can't get from drugs.
The only place that willever be filled inside of you,
that void that's missing, itcomes from the love of Christ
and the Word of God.
- Our hearts are restlesstill they rest in thee.
Every child wants love.
Every child wants love.
They just do.
They yearn to be loved.
That's the way God madeus as human beings.
God Himself is love.
And those that dwell in lovedwells in God and God in him.
Little children want to beloved, and Lisa wasn't loved
and so she leaves and goes out
thinking this woman thatmeets her is gonna love her.
The woman didn't want to love her.
She wanted to use her.
So there's so many peoplewho want to use human beings.
They want to acquire money and use people
instead of using money to bless people.
But that's the way it was.
And Lisa was saying, "Is there any plan?"
before she winds up in prison.
And then she began torealize God has a plan.
And folks, I want totell you, God has a plan.
The Bible says: I have a plan for you,
to do you good and not harm, to bless you.
God has a plan for your life,
and if you will come toHim, that plan will unfold
and it'll be more wonderfulthan anything you can imagine.
So how do you receive it?
You open your heart to Jesus.
And one of the things you've gotta do,
you've gotta do two things.
You've gotta forgive thepeople who've hurt you
and then you've gotta forgive yourself.
Because if you...
He talks about being cleansedof a guilty conscience,
a dead conscience to serve the living God.
God doesn't want you to grow up
in a state of shame and condemnation.
He wants you to be free to serve Him.
So what I want you to do right now,
I'm gonna give you a chance to meet Jesus
and to be cleansed ofthis and to find the love
of one who's got a plan for you.
Just bow your head andpray with me right now.
Lord God, I pray right nowthat you will come into my life
and be my savior.
Lord, I need love and I knowthat you love me so much
that you died for me.
And so I take you as one I can trust
and one who has a plan for me.
Show me your plan.
Lead me by your spirit.
And God, from this moment on,
I will live for you and I'll serve you.
Thank you that you've heard my prayer
and thank you that you'vecome into my heart.
For those who prayed with me,
I want to give you somethingcalled "A New Day."
We're running out oftime, but call right now
and say, "Look, I prayedwith that guy on TV,"
and this is somethingthat we'll send for you.
1-800-700-7000.
