- [Wendy] A cabin explodes.
- [Steven] And blew out windows
and it blew a whole wall out.
- [Wendy] With one man trapped inside.
- Jimmy's been in a horrible accident.
- [Wendy] How did this humantorch survive the blast?
- He was just completely white.
- [Wendy] Watch a miracleunfold in the ICU.
- And that's what they weredoing, watching over Jimmy.
- [Wendy] On today's "700 Club."
(dramatic music)
- Well welcome folks to thisedition of "The 700 Club."
It's massive, massive.
The coronavirus is on a rampage in China.
Yesterday, a drastic spike of15,000 new cases was reported
along with more than254 additional deaths.
Why the sudden jump,
and how is the Chinesegovernment responding?
Our Jenna Browder has moreon this escalating crisis.
- The increase in cases
is due to expanded diagnosis criteria,
allowing doctors to more quickly diagnose
and begin treatment immediately.
That brings the total number of people
infected by the virus, now labeled COVID-19,
to about 60,000 and totaldeaths to more than 1,300.
The shift raises questions
about China's testing methods and numbers,
resulting in the firing oftwo party officials in Hubei.
And with the number of cases on the rise,
health officials are warningit could soon start spreading
in communities here at home.
- A virus can have morepowerful consequences
than any terrorist action.
- [Jenna] The newestcase confirmed in the US
among evacuees quarantined ona military base in San Diego.
Of the new cases confirmed outside China,
nearly 50 were on board thisDiamond Princess cruise ship
quarantined off the coast of Japan.
- As each day progresses,
we are having additionalpeople tested positive.
- [Jenna] And hits HollandAmerica cruise ship
was turned away from fivedifferent ports in Asia
even though there are no knowncases of COVID-19 on board.
- We're all a bunch ofhuman beings on this ship
that have lives outside ofthis cruise ship that need us.
- [Jenna] Passengers celebrating though
after learning they'll finallyget to dock in Cambodia.
Now, help from Israel inthe form of new technology
could help curb the virus.
This revolutionary face mask
has the ability to kill 99%of viruses like COVID-19.
- It kills all viruses, all bacteria, all fungus,
and it will do it 100% of the time,
all day, all night, seven days a week.
You can wash it.
You can bleach it.
You can dye it.
You can hit it with a baseball bat.
It's gonna do its job.
- Israeli scientists useinvisible sound waves
to inject copper particles
with antiviral properties into cotton.
These engineers then combinethe ancient tradition
of spinning cotton withtoday's technology.
The result: masks thatare far more effective
than the standard N95 masks.
The company is shipping
these life-saving masks to Hong Kong.
And we've also learnedabout another victim
of the coronavirus.
The Chinese Grand Prix, which was supposed to happen
in April in Shanghai has been postponed.
Jenna Browder, CBN News.
- Isn't it marvelous thatGod is giving the Israelis
the concept that will changethe life of millions of people,
injecting copper into these masks?
It's marvelous.
Well in other news.
Excuse me. (coughs)
Frigid temperatures areinvading the Northeast
while a snow storm shutsdown parts of the West.
John Jessup has more.
- That is right, Pat.
A major winter storm sweepingthrough the country today.
Life threatening conditions
shutting down Interstate29 in North Dakota
from the Canadian border tothe South Dakota state line.
In Kansas, 17 people weretaken to the hospital
with minor injuries after aschool bus carrying 5th graders
slid off the road.
The storm moving into Chicago last night.
This morning, snowheading into the Northeast
along with heavy rains from DC to Boston.
Frigid air will bringbelow average temperatures
to the region this evening.
Well fiscal 2020 is just getting started,
but the government isalready setting records
for taxing and spending.
The Treasury Department reports
they collected over $1.178trillion in total taxes
from October through January.
That tops last year's high water mark.
While the government wascollecting all that money,
it also spent a record amount,
expenses totaling morethan $1.56 trillion.
That's a deficit over $389 billion.
Well the Equal RightsAmendment has been dead
for nearly 40 years.
Now House Democrats though
are trying to bring it back to life.
Even though the deadline passed in 1982,
Speaker Nancy Pelosi istrying to change the rules
to get it in, even over the objection
of one notable liberal.
Senior Washington CorrespondentJennifer Wishon explains.
- Today, the House votes on abill that removes the deadline
for ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.
It's a last-ditch effort by Democrats
to get the controversial amendment
added to the Constitution.
- With this resolution,we take a giant step
toward equality for women, progress for families,
and a stronger America.
- [Jennifer] The EqualRights Amendment, which says
equality of rights underthe law shall not be denied
or abridged by the UnitedStates or by any state
on account of sex passed Congress in 1972,
but it failed to get theapproval needed from 38 states,
the 3/4 required to amend the Constitution
before its 1979 and thenextended 1982 deadlines passed.
Plus, a number of statesthat did ratify the ERA
later rescinded their approval.
- It is time to guaranteetrue gender equality
under the United States Constitution.
- [Jennifer] Despite thedeadline expiring decades ago,
Virginia revived the debate in January
when it became the 38th state to ratify.
The commonwealth's firstfemale Speaker of the House
ensured the ERA was the first bill
to pass out of her chamber.
- For the women of Virginiaand the women of America,
the resolution has finally passed.
(cheering and clapping)
- We will no longer suffer in silence
as we are discriminated against.
We will not stand bywhile being paid less.
We won't keep quiet about violence
perpetrated against women with impunity.
- [Jennifer] But critics say the ERA
is the opposite of what it claims.
They say it actually harms women
and mandates abortion on demand.
- This is about breakingdown any prohibitions
in any state against abortion.
This is really aboutcreating the inevitability,
on a federal level, forabortion to be legal,
any reason, any number, allpaid for by the taxpayer.
- [Jennifer] In addition,Nance says there are 800
gender-specific lawsdesigned to protect women,
like the Pregnancy Discrimination Act,
that would disappear under the ERA.
- Do we deserve specialprotection in certain areas
because, biologically, we need them,
or should those all end?
- While Democrats workto revive the amendment,
liberal icon Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
says the ERA is dead.
She encourages supportersto start over in Congress.
It's unlikely a new ERA, aswritten, would pass the Senate.
Getting 3/4 of the states to ratify it
would also be a challenge, butthis fight is far from over.
Jennifer Wishon, CBN News, Washington.
- Far from over, indeed.
Thanks, Jennifer.
Pat, back to you.
- Imagine, they say it'sgoing to help women,
but it's written so poorly.
And I remember my good friend,
Phyllis Schlaffly, worked so hard.
And it was in Illinoisthat they didn't ratify,
that steamroller to get this thing passed.
Why?
Well, among other things,it's not a question of gender.
It doesn't say gender, it's sex,
but this means how you do sex.
This will of courseput in the Constitution
a protection for homosexuality.
And all of the things
that the LGBTQ group have been asking for,
this would enshrine in the Constitution,
and then it would meanthat abortion on demand
would be required by the Constitution
and that all the protections for women
would be taken away that are existing law.
This isn't something to protect women.
It's this protection,
these other people would putthem into the Constitution,
and it's a tragic thing.
And so Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was one of the attorneys
for the ACLU, has said it right.
If you want to do it,start all over again.
This thing is dead.
You cannot revive somethingthat has been voted down.
And a number of states havewithdrawn their approval
so they have to go backand pick that up again.
But it would be a tragedy,in my opinion, in this nation
to put this kind of thingin the Constitution.
But people are moving ahead as if,
I certainly think we shouldhave equal rights for women
all the way across the board,
and there're many, many, many laws
on the books right now mandatingequal pay for equal work
and all of the rest ofthe thing that women want,
protection for women.
All those protections
would be taken away with this amendment.
So, anyhow, let's hope it,in my opinion, it's dead,
it shouldn't be revived,it's unconstitutional.
I don't think this neweffort would survive
a Supreme Court challengeif it's given to them.
Wendy.- All right, thanks, Pat.
Still ahead on today'sprogram, a fiery explosion.
One man goes to check a gas leak
and a propane tank blows up in his face.
How did he survive the flames?
Plus, age slower.
How you can live better and longer.
Dr. Josh Axe will show you the way.
But first, the coming red wave.
Could we be seeing a new generation
of Republicans rising to power?
And who's most at risk this November?
CBN News has the answers so stay tuned.
(tense music)
(dramatic music)
- Could the impeachmentof president backfire
on the Democrats in 2020?
Well that's the big question
and the blowback has already started.
Abigail Robertson bringsus more from Washington.
- Throughout the impeachment proceedings,
Democrats made clear
they wanted to targetvulnerable Republicans
by getting them on therecord with tough votes.
Now that President Trump's acquittal
has led to record approval ratings,
that strategy might be backfiring.
- And I can tell you,
in all of our competitive Senate races,
they're in better shape todaythan they were a month ago.
- [Abigail] Not one of the GOP senators
facing a tough reelectionvoted to impeach Trump.
Republicans are also countingon impeachment fatigue
to help them hang on to those Senate seats
and possibly gain enough votesto flip back the majority
in the House of Representatives.
- I don't like Trump, but Ididn't like the impeachment.
- [Abigail] Republicansare specifically targeting
districts like CongresswomanElaine Luria's in Virginia,
who was one of seven freshman Democrats
who wrote this "WashingtonPost" op-ed about impeachment,
almost guaranteeing hearingswould get a green light.
- And I don't think weshould've wasted the time
doing the impeachment.
We have more importantbusiness like passing budgets,
which is the job of Congress.
- [Abigail] Many votersCBN News spoke with
questioned Luria's vote toconvict Trump on both articles.
- A lot of us didn't thinkthat was appropriate.
I don't know that Inecessarily voted for Trump,
but I also don't knowthat what was going on
was something that alot of other politicians
aren't involved in as well.
- [Abigail] But otherssupport her decision.
- Personally, I think the impeachment
should've went through.
- [Abigail] Meanwhile,Democratic leadership
stands by impeachment.
- We have no regrets aboutstanding up for truth
and the Constitution and impeachment,
but that has never slowedus down from our work.
- The big question is,eight months from now,
will impeachment will betop-of-mind with 2020 voters?
Reporting from Washington,Abigail Robertson, CBN News.
- Chief Political AnalystDavid Brody is here
to talk about vulnerable Democrats.
And before we begin, David, today's your birthday.
May I wish you a very happy birthday?
- Oh, Pat, thank you so much.
I call it the double nickel, 55.
I like to also call it theIHOP senior menu breakfast.
I'll be doing the simple two-egg breakfast
the rest of my life, I think.
- All right, well that triple,(Wendy laughing)
I'm glad that's a good breakfast for you.
I'm sure your analysis todayis gonna be equally cogent.
Well both sides aretalking about impeachment
politically playing in their favor.
What do you think aboutthis flipping the House?
Is there any possibility?
- Well let's just go to areality check for a moment.
It is gonna be hard.
Impossible, no.
Hard, yes.
And that's because history
is not the Republicans' friend here.
If we could just take aquick trip down memory lane,
and let's do it on mybirthday I guess, right,
I mean, well let's go way back.
Ronald Reagan in 1984, hehad that landslide victory
against Walter Mondale,won 49 of 50 states.
In that election, they were able to gain,
the Republicans wereable to gain 16 seats.
Here's the problem.
The Republicans this time need 18 seats.
They have to flip 18 seats.
So even in a landslideby Reagan, they won 16.
So it's tough to do.
Now having said that, it's Donald Trump
and he's facing this impeachment
that the Democrats have put onhim and, really, the country,
and so there obviously is a different set
of circumstances there, sowe'll see, but it is very hard.
Typically, incumbentpresidents, when they win,
there've been six incumbent presidents
that actually have won since World War II
and they net about seven House seats total
for their parties, so it's anuphill climb statistically.
Having said that, thereare some tea leaves to read
and they're not goodfor Democrats, for sure.
- David, you think theRepublicans have got the money?
I mean, it's gonna take a war chest to,
I noticed here in the second district,
they're going after Elaine Luria already
before the impeachmentvote even took place.
Do they have the money
to really mount a media campaign on this?
- Well they do.
As a matter of fact, over $500 million
coming in between theRepublican National Committee,
pro-Trump groups, and theTrump campaign themselves,
so they have a lot of money,
and a lot of money sinceimpeachment as well.
And also, remember,Donald Trump's numbers,
that Gallup poll, we've talked about that,
how he's at 49% approval rating,
which is his highest number in Gallup.
Before impeachment, that same number,
that same approval ratingfrom Gallup was 39%.
He jumped 10 pointsbecause of impeachment.
And so, if you kinda get into the numbers,
let's look at AnthonyBrindisi up in New York.
I think that's a realimportant one to watch.
He is a Democrat who voted for impeachment
and he's in a Trump district,
he's in a plus-15 Trump district.
And if you look at thepolling inside his district,
54% of the folks insidehis district in New York
did not want him to vote for impeachment.
They were against impeachment, but he voted for it anyhow,
and now, 41% compared to 21%,
41% say they are lesslikely to vote for him now
because he voted for impeachment.
That gives you a sense ofwhat could be happening
in many of these Trump districts.
There are 31 Trump districts.
In other words, these are Democrats
that have won in Trump districts.
That's the concern for Democrats.
- Looked like the Democrats
turned some importantCalifornia congressmen,
like in Orange County, which is pretty much
a Republican area.
Is there any chance of them coming back?
- Well that's a great question.
I'm glad you mentioned that.
Gil Cisneros, the Democrat,
did win back over there in Orange County.
And it's interestingbecause I was just out
in the OC if you willin Anaheim, California
talking to some pastors out there.
They've had over 50 pastors
that have, in essence, declared
that they're gonna run for public office,
whether it be city council, potentially Congress,
all of the different offices out there,
just in Orange Countyalone, which is interesting.
So there's a movement afoot
by pastors in this country, actually,
to get involved in the political process
and we're seeing a movementout there in Orange County.
And as a matter of fact, now that I think about it,
Pat, we need to do a storyabout that, which we will,
coming up on "The 700 Club" I'm sure.
- Well, I didn't realizeI was giving you a lead.
I threw a softball and youhit it out of the park.
All right, behind closed doors,
what are the Democrats saying
about this whole impeachment matter?
- Well they're very concerned.
I know Chuck Schumer hascome out publicly and said
that some of these SenateRepublicans are vulnerable
like Joni Ernst and MarthaMcSally and Susan Collins
and onward and onward.
But the truth of the matter is
they were already vulnerablebefore impeachment.
In other words, Susan Collins, right now,
is the least, she hasthe worst approval rating
of all Republican Senators right now.
She's in trouble in Maine,
but she was in trouble before impeachment,
so this idea that ChuckSchumer is saying publicly
that these Republicans are in trouble
because of their voteson impeachment, not true.
As a matter of fact,
if you look at some ofthese Senate Republicans
that voted for impeachment,Susan Collins, Cory Gardner,
Martha McSally, you can godown the list, let's be honest.
They voted for a couple of reasons.
They voted to acquit President Trump
because they didn't want aprimary challenge, number one,
and they're also hopingthat impeachment eventually,
after another seven, eight, nine months of this,
will, in essence, go by the wayside
and not be so top-of-mind
for folks that wantedthis president impeached.
They believe that, overall, the economy's doing well,
a lot of other factors, sothat's why they're hoping
that this will just kinda ride out.
So I wouldn't believe theChuck Schumer line so much
that these vulnerable Republicans,
or these Republicans arein trouble in the Senate.
I mean, I think it was gonnaalways be a pretty tough race
for all of them anyhow.
- Well David, again, happy five five
and you have a good day.
God bless you.
- Thank you, Pat.
- David Brody.
- He's a good guy.
- Excellent analysis.
Okay, what do you got now?- Well coming up later,
a real life human torch.
He had third degree burnsover 3/4 of his body.
Now, see how two angelshelped fight for his life.
Also, it may not be the fountain of youth,
but it's the next best thing.
Go inside The Collagen Diet.
How does it rejuvenate our bodies
and even help beat cancer?
Hear the science and thesecrets when we return.
(dramatic music)
(uplifting music)
- Well collagen has been called the glue
that holds us together.
It's found throughout our bodies.
But as we age, we create less of it.
So how can we kickstartour collagen production?
Dr. Josh Axe has the answers.
- The Collagen Diet'sreally there to help you
transform your digestive health.
It's really the ideal dietto help you age slower.
- [Andrew] Dr. Josh Axesis a certified doctor
of both natural medicine and chiropractic
and a clinical nutritionist.
He's on a mission to solvepeople's health problems
with his books, conference speaking,
and hugely popular website, DrAxe.com.
In "The Collagen Diet," his latest book,
Dr. Axe says that collagen is key
for weight loss, guthealth, and a younger you.
- Dr. Josh Axe is here with us now,
and welcome back to "The 700 Club."
You've been here before, right?
- I have, yeah, a few times.
Yeah, hey,- Okay.
- thanks for having me.- Nice to see you.
Well what is collagen exactly?
- Yeah, so collagen makes up 30%
of all of the protein in your body,
so your skin, your hair, your nails,
your bones, your discs, your ligaments, tendons,
your joints, your gut liningare all made up of collagen,
and so really, it'sessential for our health.
Just imagine this.
If you were trying to put on muscle,
you'd want to getmuscle-building proteins.
Well, if you want to heal your skin,
if you want to heal your immune system,
heal your gut, heal your joints,
you've gotta be gettingcollagen in your diet.
And the truth is most people
are not getting enough collagen.
And it's amazing, when people have started
consuming a diet that supports collagen,
they'll notice theirskin looks more beautiful
than it's ever looked, their joints,
if people have joint pain or joint aches,
that will start to get better.
They'll start to lose more weight.
And overall, it improves guthealth, immune system health.
Probably, of all thesupplements out there,
people notice the biggest difference
if they do a collagen supplement
or, in general, follow acollagen-boosting diet.
- Yeah, well I told you this morning,
I take this every morning.
This is your collagenprotein powder, one scoop.
I put a little bit more thanone scoop 'cause I think
more is better,- Same here.
Oh yeah, you're right.
- in my green drink.
So we're gonna talkabout this in a minute,
but first, I want to talk about your mom.
- Yeah.- Your mother
had a second bout with cancer.
How did you help your mom?
- Yeah, so my mom, we reallyfollowed that principle,
food is medicine, but also, number one,
that God is our healer, so the first thing
we did when my mom wassick is we spent time
praying for her, going to church.
She started really focusingon praise and worship music,
so we prayed for healing.
And along with that, we really believe
that God put certain foods around us
that we can use as anatural form of medicine.
And so my mom started juicingvegetables every single day.
She started drinking bone broth.
She started consuming wildberries like blueberries.
Started using certain herbs like turmeric.
She started using essentialoils like frankincense
and she followed myprogram for several months
and then she was diagnosed asbeing cancer-free and healthy.
Yeah, so now my mom is 67 years old.
Her and my dad retired to Florida.
She water skis.
She runs at 67.- Water skis?
- Oh yeah.- She's
taking her collagen then.- She is.
Oh, and she does her collagen,
her Multi CollagenProtein every single day.
- And you know, what I love too
about your Multi Collagen Protein
is you can't taste it atall in the green drink.
It's...- That's right.
Yeah, it's like.- I wanna sell this.
Okay.- Yeah.
- Well what are ways wecan get more collagen
into our diets naturally?
'Cause it's great to have
a protein powder.- Yeah.
- But you know, some people say,
"Well I want to do it naturally."
How do we do that?
- Yeah, so there're a few ways.
Number one, you consumefoods that support your body
in producing its own collagen.
You do that along with taking something
like a collagen protein.
So for example, like we'vegot some turmeric root here.
Turmeric is amazing forreally helping the body
reduce inflammation, andalso, it contains a compound
that helps your bodycreate more stem cells,
which then helps your body
create more collagen.- Now I have the turmeric
in the powder form thatI add to my smoothie.
Is that okay?
You don't have to buy the root?
- That's right, you can do it as the root
or do it as a powder or doit as a tea or a supplement,
but any way you want toget your turmeric is fine.
The other thing I heardyou mention, which,
by the way, you're just on top of it.
You're doing some good things right now.
You mentioned your tea, okay.
So matcha green tea.
Matcha's a really unique form of green tea
that has three times the antioxidants
that other green tea has, soit's a natural energy booster.
But matcha is from Japan andamazing for so many things,
for anti-aging, boostingenergy, but also can support,
really more, it doesn'treally boost collagen,
it protects your body from losing collagen
because, this is kindof a crazy statistic,
but once somebody is in their 50s,
- [Wendy] Okay.
- their body has, your bodyproduces 75% less collagen
than it did when you were 25.
So your body, once you hit the age of 25,
your body produces one to two percent
less collagen every year, so as we age,
it's even more important
that we start supplementing with collagen.
A few other things.
Vitamin C-rich superfoodssupport your body
in making collagen,lemon, lime, grapefruit,
oranges.- I love grapefruit.
- And then wild berries like goji berries
and blueberries andraspberries are also good for--
- And ginger, I love ginger.- Yes.
- I mean, I just put abig raw chunk of ginger
into my green smoothie every morning.
- Perfect.- And the more, the better.
I mean, to me, you know,
because you can't reallyhave too much of it I guess.
- That's right, yeah.
Ginger's a really unique herbthat supports two things,
reducing inflammation and gut health.
And along with that, can really reduce things
that break down collagen in our gut,
so it's great forreducing inflammation too.
- All right, great stuff on the food.
Well outside of foods, what are some activities
that we can do to boost collagenproduction in our bodies?
- Yeah, I would say the bigthing is your mental attitude.
Now people don't think about this
when they think about health enough,
but 80% of doctor visitsare due to stress.
So I would say, like thefirst thing I do every morning
is I do my spiritual triathlon.
I wake up and I praise God
and tell Him everything I'm grateful for.
That's how I start the day every day.
Number two, I read my Bible.
Number three, I spend time in prayer
and just building my faith
and knowing, you know what, God is for me,
He's not against me, and just meditating
on those principles of God.
And so I think, when weknow that God is for us
and He's got things undercontrol, that reduces stress,
- Yes.- but I would say
that's really the biggestthings in terms of lifestyle.
Now getting out walking, exercise, those are great too,
but the biggest thingsare that time with God
and then using food as medicine,
which we're obviously talking about
here.- Wow, that's so good.
I thought for sure you weregonna go first with exercise,
but thank you for saying that,- Yeah.
- Because, really, that is the foundation,
and, like you said, ifwe know God is for us,
then that just takes the stress away.
What are some foods andactivities we should avoid
if we want our collagen to be better?
- Yeah, so what we have to stay away from
is hydrogenated oils,sugar, refined grains,
like a lot of white and wheat products
like white flour, whitebread, those sort of things.
But I would say sugarand hydrogenated oils,
like french fries,
they're in hydrogenated oils.- French fries.
- Those are the biggest culprits
that are gonna cause inflammation.
Inflammation is what breaks down collagen.
So this diet, you want to do two things.
You want to reduce inflammation
and then you want to support your body
in regenerating and creating more collagen
within your own body.
- You talk a lot about bone broth in here.
- Yes.- And you said that
during medical school,
you actually yourself got soexhausted and you stumbled upon
this wonderful thing called bone broth.
- I did.
I spent years researching, number one, for my mom.
When she was battling cancer,I said, "You know what?
"I'm gonna find a naturalway for her to get healthy."
And I started doing research for myself.
I was working out a lot and I found
that when I consumed bone broth,
my joints felt so much better.
I had more energy.
I could not believe how great I felt.
And there are so many peopleout there today, Wendy,
who they look older than they should,
they feel older than they should.
They just don't feel well.
And I found that, when theyconsume The Collagen Diet,
which is about the book I wrote,
it's just amazing how theystart to lose more weight,
they look younger, they feel younger,
and I really believe it'sthe breakthrough diet
that will help people finally feel
the best they've ever felt.
- Well if it will it let mewater ski at 67 like your mom,
- Yeah.- I am all for it.
Dr. Josh Axe's new book iscalled "The Collagen Diet."
And for more tips, please get this.
It's available nationwideand it will change your life.
Dr. Josh Axe,
thank you so much.- Awesome, hey,
thanks for having me, Wendy.
Appreciate it.
- Still ahead, the miracle man.
Doctors said he only had 24to 48 hours left to live,
so how was he able to walkout of the hospital alive?
And then later, YourQuestions, Honest Answers.

(dramatic music)
- A fireball erupted from the belly
of Jimmy Stewart's cabin.
The strength of the blast wasenough to shatter windows,
blow out walls, and evendislodge the second floor
from the rest of the house.
Jimmy was just inchesaway from the explosion.
How on earth did Jimmy survive?
- They told me, "Whenwe see burns this bad,
"we usually have a 24 to 48hour window and that's it."
And so they were giving me,basically, that much hope.
That's how much time youhave to get the family here
to say goodbye.
- [Andrew] In the summer of 2016,
Kathryn Stewart's husband, Jimmy,
was enjoying a weekend at their cabin
with family and friendsoutside of Anchorage, Alaska.
Little did they know, thepropane that powers the cabin
had been slowing filling the crawlspace
due to a leaky connection.
Late Saturday night, Jimmywent into the crawlspace
to investigate, whensuddenly, it exploded.
(fire explodes)
Their son, Steven, wasoutside during the blast.
- I just remember seeing that flash of red
where there was the flame,
and that's when I heard thekind of rushing wind sound
that was accompanied with the explosion.
And it blew out windows andit blew a whole wall out
and dislodged the wholesecond story from the first.
- [Andrew] Jimmy had taken the full force
of the fiery explosionand was still alive.
Steven's wife, Anna, remembers the moment
Jimmy emerged from the cabin.
- It was very shocking.
He was just completely white.
His skin was all white.
He had no hair.
- [Andrew] In an area wherethey've never had cell service,
they miraculously got a call out to 9-1-1.
As Steven drove his dadto meet the ambulance,
he prayed for his fatherwho was a pastoral leader
with the Alaska Baptist Convention.
- I remember praying forlongevity of ministry,
that the Lord would sustain his life
so that he could continue doing
what you've called him to do.
- [Andrew] In Anchorage,Kathryn soon got word
that her husband was life flighted
to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle
due to the severity of his burns.
Right away, she called friends to pray.
- I didn't ask them, really,so much to do anything.
I said, "Just pray.
"Jimmy's been in a horrible accident.
"We need to get the word out.
"Please pray."
And I just told them,
"There's been an explosion at the cabin
"and he's been life flighted out."
- [Andrew] Thousands of people
from their network ofchurches and around the world
began praying for Jimmy's survival.
He was placed on life supportand received top medical care,
but with third degree burnscovering 77% of his body,
he was not expected tosurvive more than a few days.
Despite the poor prognosis,
Kathryn took all theirconcerns to God in prayer.
- Every time I would go tothe Lord with those things,
then I would feel morehope, more hope, more hope,
and that strengthened me.
That hope is strengthpurely from the Lord.
We can't come with that on our own.
It's supernatural, absolutely.
- I think it was theLord giving us this peace
that we just couldn't understand,
that didn't really make sense,
that He was gonna be sovereign
over the whole experience and everything
and He had Dad's life in His hands.
- [Andrew] Nine days after the explosion,
he was able to breathe on his own.
Several weeks went byand Jimmy clung to life.
One night, while prayingagainst infection and fear,
Kathryn had a vision oftwo angels around his bed.
- And they were huge andthey were strong and powerful
and they were on guard.
And that's what they weredoing, watching over Jimmy.
And the Lord said to me,not in audible words,
but in that picture thatHe gave me, "I got this.
"You don't have to fear."
- [Andrew] Kathryn hung cards, prayers,
and photos around his room
and created an atmosphereof praise and worship.
Over several months,Jimmy endured surgeries
to save his appendagesand multiple skin grafts
to replace the vast amount of dead skin.
With each surgery, doctors warned the family
about the risks that could take his life.
- "Be prepared.
"There could be brain damage."
It was all these things.
And then they would comeback from the surgery
and it seemed like 10 out of 10,
they would come back and like,
"Well, all the bad things thatcould've happened didn't."
(chuckles)
"And he made it through and it was weird.
"But we're glad, you know, we're glad."
- There's just so many miraclesthat kept on happening,
and so each time something would happen
and he'd get revived andhe'd get better and stronger
and come through it,they were just amazed.
They began to call him Miracle Man
because he just kept on gettingbetter every single time
and defying what they expected.
- The power of prayer is so invisible,
but it is so undeniable.
- [Andrew] Six months aftersurviving the explosion
that should've killed him,Jimmy walked out of the hospital
with a body full of scars, but also,
a new opportunity totell everyone he meets
about the loving Godwho carried him through
and the church who prayed for him.
- People walk up to me all the time
and I get to share withthem because they say,
"Do you mind sharing yourstory, what happened?"
And when I do, I get totalk about the greatness
and the goodness of God.
This has been the most threemeaningful years in my life
and it's just been overwhelming to me
to see how God hasworked through all this.
I have seen the power of God.
It didn't shake my faith;it strengthened my faith.
- [Andrew] Just weeks
after being released from the hospital,
he was able to walk his daughter
down the aisle at her wedding.
Jimmy returned to his job
with the Alaska Baptist Convention
and even plays racquetball competitively.
He says God has continuedto strengthen him
through every challenge he's faced.
- He's walking with me
in the valley of the shadow of death.
I don't fear any evil.
I don't fear any problems.
He is with me.
He's gonna restore my soul
and He's gonna lead mebesides quiet waters.
He's gonna anoint my head with oil
and just heal me and walk with me.
God loves us.
I want people to know that,
and in the midst of theirdeepest, darkest valley,
I want them to trust God.
Let God be God.
- What a ringing affirmation of faith.
God loves us.
In the midst of the darkvalleys, God loves us
and you can trust Him.
What a story of miracles.
Now this could be theday of a miracle for you.
God is no respecter of persons.
Now Jimmy, it's a miracle.
He should've died.
He should've lost his various appendages.
He should've had all kinds of bad things
and none of them happened.
Why?
Because Almighty God was lookingover him and sent angels.
All right, here's some reports
and then we want to pray for you.
Rachel, who lives in Temple, Georgia,
was suffering form shoulder pain.
One day she was watching this program
and she heard Wendy say...
You didn't know Rachel of Temple, Georgia,
did you?- I sure didn't
and do not, no.
- Well she heard you say,"There's somebody suffering
"from tendonitis in your shoulder.
"God's healing you."
Rachel was healed right after that
and she gives glory to God.- Praise the Lord.
All right, Tricia ofWenatchee, Washington wrote in
and said: I was home sickyesterday, February 12th.
About three weeks ago, Iwoke up with severe pain
in my neck down to my left shoulder.
The doctor said it was a pinched nerve
due to damage in my upperspine and bones in my spine.
They called it cervicalnerve root disorder.
I'm a frequent watcher of "The 700 Club"
and I heard Pat say, "There is someone
"with left shoulder painand God is healing it."
I was overcome with emotion.
I've been praying and claiming victory,
and friends have been praying.
I received that healing
by lifting my arm as high as I could.
The pain kept getting less and less.
I'm reminded again thatwe serve a mighty God,
who loves us and is indeeda good, good Father.
Praise God.
- Now here's the deal.
God says if two of you on earth agree
as touching any thing that they'll ask,
it will be done for themby my Heavenly Father.
Now the Heavenly Father is here.
Jesus said, "Hithertoyou've asked nothing.
"Ask and you shall receive.
"Ask and you shall receive."
And with God, it's nothing.
He's the one who putforth the whole universe.
It's no big deal for theGod who made you to fix you.
And there's no good, no big deal
for the one who hasthe gold and the silver
and the cattle on a thousand hills
to give you the money you need.
It's no big deal forthe one who's in charge
of everything to heal your marriage.
He can do it.
Now we're gonna join together.
Now please pray with us.
Let's believe God together.
This can be the day ofa breakthrough for you.
So we'll join hands,- Yes.
- and Lord, we come before you now.
- Thank you, Lord.- We know that you are
God Almighty, and blessed Holy Spirit,
may the anointing of your presence
be upon people in this audience right now.
May we behold your glory.
Now Lord, we ask thatyou might do miracles.
Somebody, I believe the name's Mark,
you've got a stomach ulcer.
Just place your hand on your abdomen.
In the name of Jesus, that ulcer is leaving.
You're completely healed.
Wendy.
- Someone, you've beendiagnosed with fibromyalgia
and you have a lot of nerve pain.
God is healing you today.
You are being touched right now.
Just start praising Him.
That's leaving andlifting, in Jesus' name.
Thank you, God.- Somebody,
you've got Parkinson's.
Your hands are shaking.
You can't stop.
It's sort of a palsy.
Right now, God is reachingdown to your brain.
He's fixing the Parkinson's
and all of those tremors shall stop.
In the name of Jesus, touch.
- Wendy.- Someone,
you've had a cancer diagnosisand you're very afraid,
and the Lord is just saying what He said
to the man in that storywho was burned so badly.
He's saying, "I've got this."
Do not fear.
God is with you.
Trust Him.
He's got this, in Jesus' name.
Thank you, Lord.- The Bible says God is love
and he that dwells in lovedwells in God and He in him.
Today, we're coming upsoon to Valentine's Day,
a day of love, and rightnow, God is restoring love.
Some of you, you're praying,
"Will God ever give loveback to my marriage?"
The answer is yes.
He is love, not loving, He's love itself.
In the name of Jesus, maylove come into your heart.
May you sense the presence
of the love of the loving God.
In Jesus' name, receive it now.
Amen
- Amen.- and amen.
Praise God.
Give us a call.
We love to hear when you've received
something from the Lord.
We'd love to have your prayer requests.
We're here for you.
And there're folks on the phones
who just love the Lordand they love to pray.
Pick up the phone.
It's no money involved.
Just 1-800-700-7000.
1-800-700-7000.
Okay.- All right.
Well still ahead, getready for another round
of your questions and honest answers.
Tom asks: Do angels have free will?
Pat weighs in on the issues
that matter most to you, so stay tuned.
(dramatic music)
(uplifting music)
Just imagine 17 hours ofcooking and serving food
and you're not allowed tohave a single bite to eat.
Then imagine that you're astarving child in that situation.
That actually happenedto a boy from Myanmar
who lived and worked inhis mother's noodle shop.
(gentle music)
- [Terry] Nyny often watched
and even helped his momprepare food to sell.
But the nine-year-old was not allowed
to ask for any of it to eat.
- [Interpreter] I couldn't eat the food.
It was going to be sold to other people.
I could only imagine that it tasted good.
- [Terry] At the end of a 17-hour day
of cooking and selling,Tarlay, who is a widow,
earned only enough to give her two boys
a little rice with some fish sauce.
Then the landlord increased their rent
on this broken-down shack andthey were forced to move out.
- [Interpreter] There was no one
who could give me a little help.
I considered moving toanother country to work,
but I couldn't leave my children behind.
- [Terry] So CBN's Orphan's Promise,
working through a localpastor, provided some help.
First, we found them a new place to live.
Then, we set up a shop for Tarlay
to sell even more food.
Business has been booming so they expanded
and added a bicyclerental business as well.
Their income has increased more than 400%
and they no longer go hungry.
- [Interpreter] Now Idon't need to imagine
eating meat anymore.
I always feel full and happy.
- [Terry] Tarlay and herfamily, who were Buddhists,
also learned about Jesus andprayed to become Christians.
- [Interpreter] Thank you toeveryone who helped our family.
- And thank you.
If you are a CBN partner, you are responsible
for that little boy and hisfamily not going hungry anymore,
having a safe, comfortableplace to live now.
That's all because you said,"I want to help hurting people
"all over the world."
And I invite you to goto your phones right now
if that sounds like somethingthat you'd like to do.
If you're not already a CBN partner,
it's just 65 cents a day.
$20 a month is all ittakes to become a partner.
And when you do that,
we want you to havesomething very special.
It's called "Ten Laws for Success."
This is Pat's new book.
Keys to win in work, family, and finance.
And by the way, we just found out
that it is doing very well on Amazon,
number one right now we're told.
So we want you to have this book.
We will send it to you whenyou become a CBN partner, Pat.
- You know, as we werethinking about that little boy,
can you imagine, you've onlygot a little handful of rice
your mother can give you andyour little boy's all hungry
and they've only got alittle handful of noodles
and a little bit of chopped up fish
and that's all they haveto eat all day long.
- [Wendy] All day.
- You know, your heart breaks, folks, for people like that.
It breaks and, you know, how do you please God?
Well, you look afterthe poor and the needy.
That's what you do.
If you want to love God,
you reach out to the poor and the needy.
The families around theworld, we can't help them all,
but we can do one at a time.
And there's so many people.
So, again, please keep that in mind
when you join the 700 Club.
And by the way, Wendymentioned, I'm so happy.
I asked what this thing does on Amazon
and it said number one for something.
I don't know what.
- Yeah, in book sales, number one.
- Well that's kinda nice,
but there's sometremendous truths in there
that'll bless you so ifyou give to 700 Club,
we'll send you a copy for free.
And if you want extra copies,
you can get them from Amazon, so, okay.
That makes, makes me happy.- It makes sense.
Yes, makes me happy.
- Makes me happy.
A happy day, all right.
Happy Valentine's, happy whatever.
- Well we've got someinteresting questions for you.
Are you ready?
- I don't know.
Let me hear them.- Okay, Jessica says:
How do you know you have truly forgiven
your spouse for cheating?
How can you truly fallin love with them again?
Good question.
- Let me recommend this.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
How do I love you?
Let me count the ways.
I think what you need to do
is to start remembering thegood things about your spouse.
Has he been kind?
Is he a good father?
Is he a good provider?
Has he been there foryou when you were sick?
Has he been throughdifficult days, and so forth?
That's what you need.
And then you repeat that.
Yes, he cheated on you.
Yes, he's a human being and he fell.
But so do we all.
And if we want God to forgive us,
we've got to forgive others.
Think of the stuff you've done to God
and then you say, "God's forgiven me."
He doesn't remember that.
In the sea of His forgetfulness,
He's put all those things behind Him.
So you do the samething, you act like God,
and you say, "God's forgiven me
"and I'm gonna forgive my spouse."
But then start enumerating every day.
I love him because he's handsome.
I love him because he's a good provider.
I love him because he'sgood with the kids.
Whatever it is he's done good.
He plays ball with the children.
I don't know what he does.
Maybe he's a scoundrel andyou can't find anything good,
but do your best.
All right, what else.- Good advice.
All right, Tom says: I alwaysthought God created angels
to do His will and serve Him.
Do angels have free will?
- They have free will, but remember,
the angels don't have acloud between them and God.
Those of us who are human beings,
we don't see clearly.
As Paul said, we seethrough a glass darkly,
then face to face.
The angels see face to face.
Yes, they have freewill, but they freely...
The good ones serve God with joy.
The bad ones are demonsand they've been cast,
well they're cast out of heaven
and they're waiting final judgment.
But yes, they have freewill but it's a question of,
it's much more intensethan anything we've got.
What do you have?- All right, here's Danny.
He says: Hi, Pat.
First of all, I love "The 700 Club."
I watch it daily.
My question is, how can aChristian become possessed
if he has Jesus in his heart?
I believe if Jesus is in your heart,
then there's no room for a demon or Satan.
- I think you're rightand partially right.
If Jesus is married, your spirit is merged
with the spirit of God,then there's no way
some demon is going to take over
because you are givingyourself over to God.
But, you know, it'slike you're in a picnic
and you've gone to sleepand you're a Christian
and there's nothing that keeps an ant
from crawling into your ear.
The devil is always,he's like roaring lion
seeking whom he can devour.
So he's out trying to temptand destroy all the time.
So keep in mind, he willtry to discourage you.
He will try to bring trouble against you.
Look what he did to Job.
I mean, Job was a perfect man,
but God did everythingHe could to destroy him
and Job finally said, "Thoughhe slay me, yet I trust him."
That's the way.
You gotta always trust the Lord, okay.
- All right, Pamela says:
What can you tell meabout the ketogenic diet?
We live in a small townand don't have easy access
to health food stores or even a Walmart.
I need to lose quite a bit of weight
and I don't have access to a gym
or other exercise equipment.
I also deal with partialparalysis in my right foot
caused by a brain injury when I was four.
What is the best diet to be on?
Thank you and God bless.
- I wanna tell you, we got a book
that we probably still havecalled, "Build a Better Gut."
There's such a thing as a gut flora.
If you want to spendyour money on something,
get some of the littlemicrobes that cause,
probiotics they're called,and you need the pre-biotics,
so celery, cabbage, beans, that kind of thing, eat them.
They're a pre-biotic.
And the other, as far as ketogenicand all that other stuff,
the idea of ketogenicis you start ketosis,
which is something thatcauses the furnace to burn.
I've tried some of those keto things
and they leave, it's likethe ash in the furnace.
It doesn't quite get all absorbed.
I know there're better ways of it,
but I didn't really appreciate it.
Believe me, I've tried almost everything.
- Chicken soup and vegetables.
That's what Dr. Josh said.- Soup
and vegetables, amen.- Soup and vegetables.
- Well Today's PowerMinute is from Psalm 91.
For He shall give Hisangels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways.
Thank you so much for being with us,
and Lord willing, we'llyou again tomorrow.
Bye-bye.
(uplifting music)
