- How fun.
Please welcome to "The 700Club", The Singing Contractors,
Aaron Gray and Josh Arnett.
Do I have that right?- Yes, you do.
- Aaron and Josh, right?(laughing)
So what came first foryou guys, the singing?
Because surely you didn'tjust belt out a song
not knowing you could sing.
Or the contracting?
- I would say the singing came first
because we're both raised in families
where they drug us across the country and,
they were song evangelists,
and Aaron's family was singers
and we sang at campsand churches and stuff.
So sometimes I feel likewe were forced to sing.
(laughing)
- Oh, I bet that's true.
- Well that's how our familieswas able to pay their bills.
- Sure.- No, I'm just kidding.
- Well, for everybody, youdo what you gotta do, right?
- (laughing) Yeah.
- So here you are, you'vegrow up, you have families.
You now are working as contractors
and you post this song sung in a moment
in an empty house.
And millions of people respond to this.
What did you think?
- Well, it's overwhelming, because it was
not something that we was trying to do.
We was just having fun.
But on my personal page, I had a guy
that messaged me and said,
"Man, would you guys pleasesing 'How Great Thou Art'?"
So we was on a big basement remodel
and I went in and I said,
"Dude, we gotta sing 'HowGreat Thou Art' today."
And...- [Josh] We did.
- Well, we did.
And a friend of ours wasthere working with us
and we was just getting the key,
we didn't rehearse it, like we never do.
(laughing)
And so he was kinda humming a third part.
And he was like, "Paul, jumpin here and sing with us.
"That'd be cool to have a third part."
- [Terry] It was powerful.
- And, wow.
From that point on, the nextmorning we had 60,000 views
and we're used togetting two or 300 views.
- 300, you know.(laughing)
- But you say that you have
a deeper motivation behind what you do.
And you mentioned earlierthat you guys grew up
with evangelistic families, on the move,
singing, sharing the gospel.
What's your motivation behind what you do?
- Well, our motivation is,
we were just talking about this earlier,
is to make sure thatwe are faithful to God
in our own lives.
But also to be able to uplifthim and to give him praise
and to encourage others
because there are so manypeople that are hurting
and we wanna be a positivelight to the world.
And we feel like we're unworthyvessels being used by God.
But we're excited thathe's chosen us to do this
and we just wanna be faithful to him.
- And you have had that kind of impact.
There was one lady whoresponded out of the millions,
who said she'd actually been suicidal,
had suicidal thoughts untilshe heard you all sing.
Were you able to ever follow up on her
and kinda track what happened?
- Well she messaged us a few times later
and just kinda lettingus know what was going on
and since that time that shehad seen one of our videos,
she had got back into church,
she had got back with her husband,
and got counseling and everythingand was doing really well.
And you talk about overwhelmingand humbling to us,
because in ourselves, we'vemessed up royally in life
and failed God and we're just so grateful
and thankful for God's graceand his forgiveness in our life
and for him to use us,
even after the things that we had done,
it's, wow.
We can't believe that--
- Well Jesus kinda likescarpenters, you know?
(laughing)
- And he is the master carpenter.
- That's right.
- So are you still contractingas well as singing?
- We sure are.
Matter of fact, we go back to work Monday.
- Well, and here's thecallouses on our hands, yeah.
- Cuts and splinters and all that.
- In addition to that, you justrecently had an opportunity
to sing at the Grand Ole Opry,
that had to be a moment in time.
- Wow. (laughs)
- That was an amazing time.
We definitely feel unworthy for that,
but probably the mostnervous I've ever been.
- [Terry] I can't imagine.- Hearts pounding.
I said, "Lord, if you will calm my nerves,
"I promise you I will uplift your name
"and give you the glory and the credit."
And that's what we did.
- Well you have continued to do that.
And I think in today's culture,
people are looking for thosewho are given opportunity
to do that, to stand up talland to speak the name of Jesus.
You have a brand new Christmas album out.
- We do.- Tell us about that.
I love the subtitle, "BuildingA Christmas To Remember".
- Yes, we're so excited about it.
We have always wanted todo a Christmas record.
And when we got the chance to do this,
we were just like, wow, this is gonna be fun.
'Cause we don't want it to sound
like a regular Christmas CD,
we want it to have somecountry flavor in there
and some fun stuff for the kids
and some good gospel classics.
And we also have anoriginal that some friends
of ours wrote, AaronWilburn and Bobby Tomlin
called "There's a Baby On The Way"
and we just absolutely love this song.
But, man, we're just having a ball
singing these Christmas songs.
- That's awesome.
Well may the Lord giveyou balance in your lives.
I know you've got families, you're working as contractors,
now all of this success piling on you.
And I know your heart is to do it
and to do it right for the Lord.
So I'm gonna ask you,
I'm gonna release you all to go over,
because we really wanna hear you sing.
(laughing)- Thank you so much.
- While you're moving overthere getting in place,
want you to know, if you're looking
for a perfect stocking stuffer
for the gospel music lover in your family,
take a look at "BuildingA Christmas To Remember".
