at the City of VirginiaBeach judicial center

where they just wrappedup a news conference

updating us on the massshooting that took place

this afternoon.

Authorities now say 12people lost their lives

and they say that the shootersuccumbed to his injuries

after being involved in anextensive gun battle with police.

We spoke with the Mayor of Virginia Beach

who says, "This city isstrong and has great resolve,

"and people will bandtogether and move forward."
