- Welcome to this edition of The 700 Club.
The Department of Homeland Security
is a bureaucratic nightmare.
We're going to tell you how it started
and who's responsible.
We'll show you all thethings that have happened.
Now, the head of the SecretService is being fired.
The head of HomelandSecurity's being replaced.
And the tragedy at the border continues.
- The president has begun afull scale change of leadership
at the Department of Homeland Security.
His goal, stop or at least slow down
an onslaught of immigrantsat the southern border.
- Can't take anymore, I'm sorry.
Can't happen, so turn around.
That's the way it is.
- [Heather] Homeland SecretaryKirstjen Nielsen is out.
- I just want to thank the president again
for the tremendous opportunityto serve this country.
- [Heather] The new actingsecretary is Kevin McAleenan,
the head of Border Patrol.
He has pushed for asylumchanges to speed up screenings
and decide cases quicker.
The Associated Press is reporting
that other key immigration officials
could also be on their way out.
The administration isconsidering tougher policies
to stem the flood of immigrants.
That inludes separatingfamilies at the border,
a policy tried briefly lastyear that outraged many,
including prominent evangelicals.
- I think it's disgraceful,it's terrible to see
families ripped apart.
- [Heather] The problem is mutifaceted,
as CBN News learned on a border visit
in San Diego last week.
- We know the vast majority
of the migrants that are comingup are economic migrants,
not true what you would callpolitical asylum type seekers.
- [Heather] In March,Border Patrol apprehended
100,000 immigrants, thehighest number in 12 years.
Many are taking advantageof recent court rulings
that require the US to releasefamilies within 20 days.
- When people know that they can come in,
that they're just gonna get processed
and then released into the United States
for a court date sometime in the future,
that creates a nonstop flow if you will.
- [Heather] Some say only Congress
can fix the situation bytackling legal loopholes
that force Border Patrol toquickly release families.
- To change these problems
and to change the waywe're doing business,
we need Congress to step up.
That's not something that just any
Secretary of Homeland Security can fix.
- Adding to the turmoil inWashington, another ouster.
The president has forced out
the director of the Secret Service.
This after a Chinese woman is jailed
for getting past several checkpoints
at the president'sMar-a-Lago Club in Florida.
The Secret Service blamingclub security for the breech.
The Secret Service change highlights
what has become normalfor this administration,
a revolving door of top leaders.
What is especially concerning,
the lack of leadership atHomeland Security right now,
an agency that employees 240,000 people.
Heather Sells, CBN News.
- Well if you remember back in history,
ladies and gentlemen, George Bush,
it wasn't George BushI, but George Bush II.
It was this bureaucratic monstrosity.
And I have in my hand just a picture
of the agencies that wereput into Homeland Security
and you look at it, it wasCustoms and Border Patrol
and the FEMA and the Secret Service
and all this jammed into together,
and since that time, it hasbeen a bureaucratic nightmare
because all of thetremendous esprit de corps,
whatever term you wanna give,
that was there with the Secret Service
was gone away because of thisbureaucratic monstrosity.
It was not the fault of Trump.
It was the fault of Bush.
And I remember a senatorfrom down in Georgia
who'd been wounded with a grenade
and they ran against himbecause he was, quote,
against the Departmentof Homeland Security,
and said he didn't, isn'tin favor of defense.
That has been a nightmare.
FEMA has been an absolute joke.
And now, the Secret Service,
which is such a prestigious organization,
is coming under fire becausethey've lost their esprit
and they're not performingat the way they should.
And then Homeland Security,
the whole organization isa bureaucratic nightmare.
It should never, ever have been done.
And yet, those people willhave to pay the price for it.
But in addition to that,
Obama administration isthe one that set in place
the idea of detaining families
and taking childrenaway from their parents.
That wasn't a Trump deal.
It was a Obama administration thing.
And the courts are now takingaway the president's privilege
of where to put theseillegals when they come in.
So we're being flooded withthis ungodly flow of people.
They're all, many of them, good people.
Some of them are drug dealers.
Some of them are from theMiddle East, they're terrorists.
But most of them are just honest people
who want a better life.
You can't blame them.
But we cannot have a better life
for everybody at Latin America.
They're hundreds of millionsof people down there
and I'm sure they'd all like to come
to the United States.
They'd like to have free health care,
they'd like the free, beautiful education,
and everything from this country.
But we can't afford it.
There's no way it can be done.
And yet, the Congress refuses to act.
The Democrats, Republicanscan't get together
on a comprehensive immigration bill,
and it's time something be done.
Now in other news, authorities in Maryland
say they stopped a terrorattack just in the nick of time.
John Jessup has more on that.
- That is right, Pat.
Federal officials say a man in custody
planned to drive a stolentruck into crowds of people.
The Justice Department says28-year-old Rondell Henry
was inspired to attack civilians
after being radicalized online by ISIS.
Investigators say he hated non-Muslims
and wanted to create, quote, panic and chaos.
Henry allegedly stole aU-Haul truck late last month
and then drove around WashingtonDC looking for a target
before finally deciding onthe National Harbor waterfront
in nearby Maryland, anarea popular with tourists
and families.
But crowds were thinso he parked the truck,
planning to return the next day.
Police spotted the stolen vehicle
and arrested Henry when hereturned the following morning.
- Well the Trump administrationopened another front
on the war on terror Monday, taking the historic step
of designating Iran's elitemilitary fighting force,
the Revolutionary Guard,
as a foreign terrorist organization.
Iranian lawmakers responded with chants of
death to America and makinga declaration of their own.
George Thomas has the details.
- Following the White House designation,
Iran state TV called Americaa state sponsor of terrorism
and moved to label the UnitedStates Central Command,
CENTCOM, as a terrorist organization.
With US troops in nearbyAfghanistan, Syria, and Iraq,
the head of Iran'sRevolutionary Guard Corps,
also known as IRGC, warned US troops
could now be potential targets.
The Treasury Department already had
more than 970 Iranianindividuals and entities
on its sanctions list, but this is the first time
America has labeledanother nation's military
a terrorist group.
- We're doing it becausethe Iranian regime's
use of terrorism as a tool of statecraft
makes it fundamentally differentfrom any other government.
- [George] The administrationsays it's singling out
the IRGC because of theparamilitary's primary role
in the regime's global terrorist campaign.
- The IRGC masquerades
as a legitimate military organization,
(bombs explode)
but none of us should be fooled.
It regularly violates thelaws of armed conflict,
it plans, organize, and executes
terror campaigns all around the world.
- [George] Randy Singer'sVirginia law firm
handles several cases onbehalf of Iran terror victims.
- Our clients have beentaken hostage in Yemen
by the Houthi rebels, whowere funded by the IRGC.
Our clients have beentaken hostage in Iraq
by Shia militias funded by the IRGC.
Our clients have been subjectof suicide bombing attacks
funded by the IRGC.
So this means a lot to our clients,
both in their court cases, but also, more importantly,
to people that'll be like our clients
that might be subject toterrorist attacks in the future.
- [George] With hundredsof thousands of members,
the Revolutionary Guardoversees the country's
ballistic missiles and nuclear programs
as well as having its handin lucrative businesses,
including Iran's banking, shipping, and oil industries.
- The leaders of Iran areracketeers, not revolutionaries.
The Iranian people deserve better
than to be governed bythis cadre of hypocritical
and corrupt officials.
- [George] Singer says targeting the group
will hopefully deprive the world's
leading state sponsor of terror
the financial means tospread its reign of evil.
- This is trying to dry upthe money source for the IRGC.
They spend about a billionto $2 billion a year
funding terrorism, and the idea is
now we're putting on noticecompanies that deal with them,
that if you deal with them,
you're bankrolling terrorism as well.
- The designation means any IRGC assets
here in the United States can be frozen
and bans any American fromdoing business with the group.
It takes effect next week.
George Thomas, CBN News.
- Thanks, George.
Pat, I am sure that this is a decision
with which you agree.
- I totally agree.
It's time to get tough on these guys.
We're looking at a few rogue regimes
that are dangerous to the whole world,
and Iran, well, it's the heart of it.
When you consider the nexusbetween North Korea, Iran,
and other terrorist groups,it is a difficult situation,
and we need to deal with it.
And of course, we're alsolooking at what's going on
in Venezuela, which is, whenyou get right down to it,
the Russians are in there too.
Well, there's somethingelse going on in the world
that is very important.
As we speak, the Israelisare going to the polls,
or they've gone to the polls,in a very crucial election
and John has more on that.
- That is right, Pat.
They have been at the polls all day today
to choose their next government.
As Chris Mitchell reports from Jerusalem,
the stakes are high for the country
and for Israeli PrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu.
- I'm at the voting station
here on Beitar Street in Jerusalem,
and this scene is takingplace all over the country,
in the north from Metula
and all the way down south to Eilat.
In fact, it's a national holiday
and most of the people have the day off.
The stakes are the futuredirection of Israel,
and the two main competitorsof the Blue and White Party,
led by former IDF Chiefof Staff Benny Gantz,
and the Likud Party, ledby Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu.
The polls are extremely close
and pollsters say as many asone-quarter of the population
were undecided up to today, Election Day.
And some people will probablybe making their decision
in the voting booth itself.
Here's what a coupleof Israelis had to say
about Election Day.
- It was unbelievable.
So many dirty things, one to each other.
I don't like it.
But it's our duty to vote.
- This is the onlycountry in the Middle East
that has a healthy, happy, free, open democracy,
and that is reason enoughto celebrate today.
So Happy Election Day everybody.
- The results will comein late Tuesday night,
and then the country, the region,
and the world will have a better idea
of where the Jewish state is heading.
You can watch our electioncoverage on CBNNews.com
and watch for the full election results
on tomorrow's 700 Club.
Chris Mitchell, CBN News,
the Beitar voting station, Jerusalem.
- Thanks, Chris.
And Chris will have an updateon the elections this evening
on our Faith Nation program.
You can watch it on the CBN News Channel.

Well here at home, Democratic candidates
are trying to separatethemselves from the pack
in the bid for their party'snomination for president.
South Bend Indiana MayorPete Buttigieg, who is gay,
is appealing to the LGBTQ community
by attacking Vice President Pence
for his biblical beliefson marriage and sexuality.
At a recent brunch for TheVictory Fund, a gay rights group,
he talked about coming toterms with his homosexuality
and said God made him that way.
- That's the thing I wishthe Mike Pences of the world
would understand, thatif you've got a problem
with who I am, yourproblem is not with me.
Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator.
- And as governor of Indiana,Pence supported legislation
protecting those who oppose gay marriage
based on religious conviction.
Well rough weather movedthrough the South last night.
In Alabama, high winds took down trees
and downed power lines.
An EF-1 tornado striking Texas,
damaging homes and businesses.
Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Meanwhile, a powerful stormis moving into the Midwest,
a potential bomb cyclonewith high winds, heavy rain,
and blizzard conditions.
And parts of New Englandcould see up to a foot of snow
today and tomorrow.
Well the Virginia Cavaliers arekings of college basketball.
They claimed their firsttitle in the school's history
after winning an overtimethriller against Texas Tech.
In doing so, they rewrotethe team's legacy.
CBN's Sports' ShawnBrown has the highlights
from last night's nail biting contest.
(dramatic music)
- Hello, and welcome to US Bank Stadium
here in Minneapolis for CBN's coverage
of the 2019 Final Four, where the Virginia Cavaliers
have won their NCCAchampionship since 1984,
and they had to work for all of it
because Texas Tech kept coming and coming,
closing gap after gap, until they forced overtime.
And there, the Cavssettled it at the line.
(chuckles) Was anybody asexhausted after that game
as I was?
Man.
We'll go down to the lockersfor some player reaction,
but first, you have tosee these highlights.
Virginia pulled awayearly in the first half.
Here's Kyle Guy for three.
Then with 9:37 left in the first half,
here come the Red Raiders
with this three by Brandone Francis,
later followed by anotherone by Kyler Edwards.
(fans roaring)
Then with under seven minutes left,
here's Tariq Owens witha dunk for the lead,
their first of the night.
Then after thisthree-pointer by Ty Jerome,
Virginia enters the half up 32-29.
Second half.
Virginia came out swinging
with this three by thesharpshooter Kyle Guy,
and later, De'Andre Hunterreceives a sweet pass
for the lay-in.
Cavaliers up 40-31.
Then, here's Tech'sBrandone Francis for three
to begin closing the gap again.
Then, at 10:24, here'sKyle Guy again for three.
Virginia now up 53-43.
Later, with 4:15 left in the game,
Matt Mooney drains one from the arc,
followed by this three by David Moretti,
and here they come.
Then, Jarrett Culver makes a nice move
to the basket for two,to take the lead back,
66-65, Texas Tech.
Then with 14 seconds left in the game,
De'Andre Hunter drainsthis three, ties the score,
and we head to overtime, which was settled at the line
and the Virginia Cavaliersare national champs.
(fans roar)
- We knew they were gonnamake their run there.
They're a great team
just like any other team in the country.
They really made ithard for us on offense.
And we knew they were gonna make shots.
I mean basketball's a game of runs,
so when they made theirrun and they made plays,
we just didn't panic andjust trusting the gods
and trusting the system.
- (exhales) It's a blessing.
I mean I told my uncle,Uncle Ralph, after this,
is that we did it for him
'cause I mean he obviously didn't get one,
but I mean he was sogreat for this program
and he kind of stepped,he made everything happen
for this program andjust put it on the map.
I mean it's not even about us.
It's I mean the fans, everybodyback in Charlottesville.
- We came in together
and said that we were gonnawin the national championship
and, you know, to beable to hug each other
with confetti goingeverywhere and say we did it,
it's, you know, the greatest feeling
I've ever felt in basketball.
- I think there was abigger plan going on here
and I was, I wasn't needed,but I was used in it
and I hope that, you know, it's a message
for some people out there,
is there can be hopeand joy and resiliency
and I'm thankful for what happened.
That's what I did at the end.
I just, when that horn went off,
I just put my head downand I said, thank you,
I'm humbled, Lord, because I don't deserve
to be in this spot, butyou chose me to be here
and I'll give thanks.
And I told our guys in the locker room.
I just said, "Put yourarms around each other."
I said, "Take a look at every guy in here.
"Look at each other."
I said, "Promise me you will remain humble
"and thankful for this.
"Don't let this change you."
- What a great message.
And Pat, Texas Tech andUVA made it so worthwhile
for those of us who stayedup late to watch the game.
- Well I must confess that my resiliency
had gone downhill, but Ididn't stay for the bitter end.
Did you stay?- I stayed.
I couldn't turn it off.
It was just one basket after another
being made by both sides,
and then Virginia pulled out at the end.
It was really quite a game.- Well I tell ya,
that Tony Bennett, Iunderstand he's a transplant
from Wisconsin?- Wisconsin, yes.
- He's not a Cavalier?
He's not from Virginia?- Well, he can be,
we'll share him.
(both laughing)
- Well, he's a wonderful guy
- Yes.- and the fellow, Guy,
is also a dedicated Christian.
These are beautifulpeople and that team was,
the whole idea is now you'vewon the national champion,
but be humble aboutit, give God the glory.
That was a beautiful message.
And oh man, what an exciting thing.
There was so much hype though.
I cannot believe it.
I mean they took anhour and a half of hype,
I mean an hour and a quarter of hype
before they got into the game, you know.
- We're gonna make it worth,
- Yeah, I mean we've got- worth every penny,
right?- a list of Katy Perry singing
and somebody else do something
and then more and more talk about it.
They were late getting on
and some of us old folks went to bed
and we missed thethrill, but it was great.
- [Terry] It was a great game.
- The song, Wah-hoo-wah,wah-hoo-wah, UVA, Virginia.
So anyhow.- You're gonna hear that
a little, for a little while.
- Over and over, yeah.
- Exactly.
Well we congratulate them.- Anyhow, stay humble.
Okay.- Yes.
Well coming up, it's acountry full of Kevorkians,
where doctors are killing people
without the family's consent.
- How can someone like that be euthanized
in a democratic, Western country
without the familymembers even being aware
that it was happening.
- [Terry] Even worse, some ofthe people dying with dignity
don't have a terminal disease.
We'll take you to thecountry where it's happening
and meet the people who arefighting back after this.
(dramatic music)
- It sounds like the worsthorrors of the Nazis,
but this is not the Nazis, itis free, independent Belgium.
When Belgium legalized assisted suicide,
critics warned it headeddown a dangerous path.
Now the European Union,
excuse me, the Europeannation has seen medical ethics
replaced by a culture of death.
It's a shocking story
that Dale Hurd brings us from Brussels.
- [Dale] Belgium haslong been famous for food
like waffles and chocolate,
but now it's becomingfamous for something else.
Belgium has one of the mostliberal euthanasia laws
in the world.
You can end your life hereby simply telling a doctor
that you have unbearablephysical or mental suffering.
Terminally ill children of any age
can receive a lethal injection
if their parents agreewith the child's wishes.
Tom Mortier's motherswas euthanized in 2012
because, even though physically healthy,
she was said to be incurably depressed.
(speaking foreign language)
- [Translator] My mother, who was physically healthy,
because of her mental problems
received a lethal injectionfrom an oncologist.
- [Dale] It was done withouthis or his family's knowledge.
He was only told by the hospital
the day after his mother was killed.
(speaking foreign language)
- [Translator] My motherhad several mental problems.
She had to cope withdepression throughout her life.
She was treated foryears by a psychiatrist
and the contact between us was broken.
A year later, she receiveda lethal injection.
- [Dale] Mortier filed a complaint
with the medical board andthen with a prosecutor,
but was turned away.
With the help of AllianceDefending Freedom,
Mortier appealed his case
to the European Court of Human Rights,
which has agreed to hear it.
His legal counsel is Robert Clarke.
- Like how can a physically healthy woman
who has struggled with depression,
who's had good daysand who's had bad days,
how can someone like that be euthanized
in a democratic, Westerncountry without family members
even being aware that it was happening?
- Something that makes thiscase even more disturbing
is that the doctor whoeuthanized the woman
sits on the very government body
that is supposed tooversee the euthanasia law.
The doctor, Wims Distelmans, who some have compared
to the late Dr. Jack Kevorkian, once led a euthanasia tour
of Auschwitz under thetheme death with dignity.
Distelmans is co-chairman
of Belgium's euthanasia commission.
- We have a significantconflict of interest
where someone is essentiallyacting as judge and executioner
in his own cases.
- [Dale] When Distelmans'commission did nothing
after a dementia patient was euthanized
without asking to die,one doctor quit the panel,
writing that he did not wantto be part of a committee
that deliberately violates the law.
- There are now more than13,000 euthanasia cases
that this commission has reviewed.
And in those 13,000, I'm aware of now one
which has been referred to the prosecutor.
- [Dale] As ethical safeguardshave fallen in Belgium,
some say killing has becomea part of medical care.
(speaking foreign language)
- [Translator] We've begun to offer death
as a medical solution, evenfor non-terminal cases.
It is a problem.
I have heard about peoplewho were offered euthanasia
even though they werenot even considering it.
- The types of conditions,
the things that would qualifysomeone for euthanasia,
are being pushed further and further out.
In the most recent reporting period,
there were euthanasias carried out
on children as youngas 17 and 11 and nine.
- The supply of euthanasiastirs the demand.
What you see is that, for anincreasing amount of people,
euthanasia becomes the default way to die.
- When we find someonewho's requesting to die,
who's standing on theproverbial edge of a bridge,
and instead of trying to talk them down,
the state is pushing them off.
- [Dale] Clarke says Belgium
is now the ultimate cautionary tale
for any nation that wantsto legalize euthanasia.
- And I think we have to ask ourselves,
is that the kind of societythat we want to live in,
or do we want to livein a society with laws
that say that vulnerablelife should be protected
and that all life, no matter what stage
and no matter the health of the person,
has dignity and value?
- [Dale] Dale Hurd, CBN News, Brussels.
- You know, our Jewishfriends have a statement,
l'chaim, to life.
In the Old Testament, there'sthe idea of choose life.
You know, we should always fight for life
and not fight for death.
But this culture of death is so pervasive.
And it's so hard when somebody'sill and a doctor says well,
if you want to be a burden to your family,
we'll give you treatment,
but if you'd like to have the easy way,
we could give you euthanasiaand it's perfectly legal.
And of course, what isthat poor person gonna say?
Well, I don't wanna burden my family.
Well, by all means, let'sgo for the euthanasia.
A culture of death.
Ladies and gentlemen, choose life.
Terry.
- Up next, a woman whosurvived two heart attacks
in three days, and thenlater, went on to become
the fastest female 5Krunner in her age group.
- I was able to tell peoplethat God saved my life.
I had had two heart attacks
and now I'm running.
And if I can do it, anybody can do it.
- [Terry] Meet a runningmiracle after this.
(uplifting music)
(dramatic music)
- Well if you believe inmiracles, we've got one for you.
It'll just build yourfaith and encourage you.
Dawn Merila holds therecord as the fastest woman
of her age group in the 5K race.
But just a few years ago,Dawn was on her deathbed
after suffering two major heartattacks in just three days.
- [Andrew] 62-year-old DawnMerila had come to Portland
to celebrate her daughterElisabeth's birthday.
- [Dawn] I grabbed a holdof my daughter's hand
as they were wheeling me down the hall
and I'm like, "Just keep praying."
- [Andrew] Now, she wasbeing taken to surgery.
- "Just keep trusting the Lord with me.
"Keep trusting God with me.
"I'll be all right.
"Just keep trusting God."
- [Andrew] Elisabeth had driven her mom
to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
with what Dawn thought wasjust a bad case of heartburn.
It turned out she was wrong.
- I looked at the nurseand I mouthed heart attack,
and she nodded, and I went whoa.
- [Andrew] Cardiologist Richard Sohn.
- In her case, she had a clot
in the most important artery of the heart
and affected a big part of her heart,
and if left untreated, would've been
definitely life-threatening.
- [Andrew] Elisabeth calledher stepfather, Donald.
He was still at their 300-acreranch in Reedsport, Oregon,
three and a half hours away.
- A lot of fear goes throughyou when you get news
that says, okay, she'shaving a heart attack
and I don't know if she's gonna live.
- [Andrew] Don began praying and asked God
to spare his wife's life.
- And the Lord speaks to me and he says
she's gonna be strongerthan she's ever been before.
- [Andrew] As Dawn waswheeled into surgery,
Elisabeth was also praying.
- Jesus, you are the healer.
You are our great physician
and you know what's going on here.
I don't.
More of you, less of me.
I'm good with that.
- [Andrew] Dr. Sohn andstaff removed the blockage
and placed two stents in Dawn's artery.
- Well this is a high mortality rate.
Fortunately, we've gotten very good
at opening these blockages.
The things that might get inthe way of that, of course,
is if the person has a complication
related to the heart attack.
- [Andrew] With the surgery a success,
Donald decided to wait for help to arrive
to take care of their livestockbefore driving to Portland.
He was on the road heading that way
when the hospital called.
- She suddenly developed muchmore severe pain in her chest
and then her EKG abruptlybecame very abnormal again.
That was definitely anemergency situation.
That's where our suspicion is that
she's developed another complete blockage
in that same artery.
- I'm praying, you know, and crying out to God,
but everything that hehad told me in the garden,
my faith just vanished at that point.
- [Andrew] Elisabeth had gonehome when she got the call.
- Now my faith was a little rattled.
Still trusting, but really confused.
- As I was being wheeledinto the operating room,
I was praying 'cause I knew I was going.
I was going.
And I was singing.
Upon the solid rock I stand.
All other ground is sinking sand.
- [Andrew] As Dawn waslosing consciousness,
she asked God to do onething, spare her life.
- All of a sudden, out of nowhere,
I saw a huge white wall.
And in this wall, Icould see gold threads.
And it was marble.
It was the most beautifulwall I'd ever seen.
And I realized, in a split second,
that there was no door.
And I believe to this day,
if I had seen a door, Iwould've gone through it.
- [Andrew] In surgery, doctorsremoved the new blood clot
and put in a third stent.
Dawn's prognosis was unknown.
- If we had opened up theblockages quickly enough
each time, then herprognosis would be excellent.
But if she had permanentdamage to her heart muscle,
then she might end upwith a weakened heart,
which would limit her ability to exercise
or do daily activities
and would predispose her tocongestive heart failure.
- [Andrew] Finally, Donaldarrived at Dawn's side.
- She was very, very sick,
incredibly sick.
I turned to the nurse, and I said,
"That's about as sick a person can get
"and still be alive on this side."
And he said, "She's stillgot a lot of fight in her."
- I said, "I'm not gonna bedrooling in a wheelchair.
"I am not gonna be incapacitated."
And I was gonna go forward.
No matter what it took,I was gonna go forward.
- [Andrew] Amazingly, Dawngot stronger each day,
and after 10 days, she was released.
- We did an ultrasound of her heart
early in her hospitalization
and her heart muscle lookedquite weak and I was afraid
that this is what she wasgonna have to live with.
What we found before she wasdischarged from the hospital
is that her heart muscle hadfully recovered in strength,
which was amazing.
I was actually surprised,
but of course, pleasantly surprised.
So at that point, I felt very confident
that she was gonna do well.
- [Andrew] For two months, Dawn rested,
but once she started cardiacrehab, she was unstoppable.
- God spared my life twice in three days.
There's got to be a reason.
And he wasn't done with me.
He just wasn't.
- [Andrew] Dawn would have that reason
a year and a half later.
In February of 2017, she ranher first 5K race and won.
It was the perfect stageto share her story.
- When I went to the race,
I was able to tell peoplethat God saved my life.
I had had two heart attacks
and now I'm running.
And if I can do it, anybody can do it.
But it gave me a chance to tell people
that Jesus heals andthat God is on the throne
and when you put your trust in him,
all things are possiblewith him who believes.
- [Andrew] A year later, shehad an even bigger stage,
when she won gold in the2018 Senior Olympics.
Today, she's considered oneof the fastest 5K runners
for a woman of her age in the country.
- When he speaks andhe tells you something,
even though it lookscompletely the other way,
it's a building block andit makes my faith stronger
to see that he was so faithful.
- God has shown me that allthings are truly possible
for those that love the Lord
and are called according to his purpose.
That's not just some notionthat we read about in the Bible.
That's a fact.
- The Lord has given me a heart to run,
and I run with all of my heart.
- A heart to run and Irun with all of my heart.
What a marvelous story.
- It really is.- Yeah.
- It really is great tosee her out there again
and doing so well.- Amen.
- That's awesome.
I have another great report here, Pat.
This is Dora, who lives in Austin, Texas.
She endured pain in herankles every single day
for over 20 years.
She kept persevering, kept trusting God.
Recently, she heard you,Pat, give a word of knowledge
for healing of someone's ankle.
So by faith, Dora believedand she was healed.
The pain is gone.
She's extremely gratefulfor God's healing power
and for his perfect timing.
Amazing.- Here's somebody else
who's name is Lady.
Lady of Bethel, Ohio, hada terrible tooth infection
and she couldn't affordto go to the dentist.
One day, she was watching and Terry said,
"You have a terribleproblem with your teeth
"and you don't have themoney to have it fixed."
So Lady said that was me.
She claimed the word andthe pain left right away.
She's been pain-free ever since.
You didn't know Lady in
- Still don't know Lady,
but I'm very happy for her.- Bethel, Ohio.
(both laugh)
Well, that's beautiful.
Well folks, again, with God,all things are possible.
With God, all things are possible.
He who made you can also fix you.
And he says all things are possible.
And Jesus said all mannerof sickness and disease,
I'm gonna heal all of it.
Now, would you like to havesomething happen to you?
Well we've had two, threewonderful testimonies of healing.
Terry and I are gonna join together
and we're gonna pray foryou wherever you are.
And just reach out andreceive what God has for you.
Father, we pray together right now
and we ask for the power of God
to come into somebody's life.
There's somebody by the name of Mary,
you've got a ruptured spleen
and God has just healed that spleen.
It's amazing.
I don't know if you gotkicked, hurt in some fashion,
but God has just healed it.
Terry.
- Someone else, you have asports injury, a torn ACL
and you've just hadtrouble with it healing.
God is putting that allin order for you right now
and the healing's goingto begin and move quickly.
Just receive it.
- There's a man, Ibelieve the name is Mike,
you've got heel spurs, bone spurs in your heels,
and they're very painful.
Right now, those bone spurs, they're made out of calcium,
they're dissolving right now in your heels
and you will not have anymorepain, in the name of Jesus.
Terry.
- Someone else, a jaw thatkeeps going out of alignment.
So painful.
God's putting it back in place now.
You're gonna be able toeat anything you want
whenever you want andit's just not gonna happen
to you again.
- Lord, let the blessing ofGod be upon people right now.
We believe in the power of God.
And Lord, we give you the glory
and we say unto him who isable to do exceeding abundantly
above all that you ask and think.
We believe exceeding abundantly.
Let blessing come in people's lives.
May the financial blessing be there.
May peace flow like a river.
In Jesus' name, amen
and amen.
Terry.

- The family in our next story
saw their home leveled by an earthquake.
Uziel told his parents
that God would send angels to help them.
The family prayed andtheir prayers were answered
courtesy of a constructioncrew from Operation Blessing.
Take a look.
(soft music)
- [Reporter] Uziel and his parents
survived the earthquakes inMexico, but lost their home.
Uziel was the one whogave the family hope.
- [Translator] I told mymom to have faith in God.
He would send angels to help us.
- [Reporter] Uziel is a fighter.
He battled cancer and won,
but his medical expensesused up everything
the family had saved.
They owned a piece of land
and had planned a build a houseon, but couldn't afford it.
- [Translator] Chemotherapy was expensive
and hard on my little boy,but I saw his strength,
his will to live, andfinally, he was healed.
- [Reporter] After the earthquake,
they built a makeshift tent.
Walking home one night,Uziel said he was hungry.
They took their last fewpesos and bought two tacos.
- [Translator] I told myself
tonight Felicita and I will not eat.
We can stand the hunger.
We only have to buy some food for Uziel.
- That night, a teamfrom Operation Blessing
was eating at the same restaurant.
The Operation Blessingteam sat and shared a meal
with Uziel and his parents,
and when they heard their story,
they decided to helpthe family in a big way.
We went to the oldpiece of land they owned
to build them a new home.
- [Translator] I saw onTV that Operation Blessing
was helping people in the disaster areas
and I prayed for some help like this.
Now, to see them here,
I feel like God sent them to bless us.
- [Translator] Soon, wewill have our new home.
I'm so excited.
- They showed me around, and Uziel proudly told me
which room was going to be his.
It's big.
It's a big room.
The new house won't just bebigger than their old one.
Thanks to modern technology,
it'll be stronger, more stable, and even better insulated.
This cellular concrete issuch a great insulator.
And even running a blowtorchon it, it barely gets hot.
And it's really easy to work with.
In fact, it's so lightweight,
it even floats.
In no time at all, theirnew home was finished
and the family was settling in nicely.
- [Translator] I alwaysprayed for the people
from Operation Blessingbecause they helped us so much.
Thank you for our new home.
- Operation Blessing is justone of the outreaches of CBN
to people who are in severesituations around the world.
It's here at home as well
when there's disaster relief needed.
And so we want to saythank you 700 Club members
because, when you join the 700 Club,
a portion of every gift you give
goes into the work of Operation Blessing.
So thank you.
You made Uziel's family not just relieved
from the financial pressure that they had,
but what an incredible opportunity
to see God answer their prayer
and then to give them a hope and a future.
You know, joining the700 Club is so simple.
There's a toll-free number to call.
It's 1-800-700-7000.
And the commitment is so doable.
It's 65 cents a day, $20 a month.
Most of us can do that.
It may not seem like much,
but you know, when weall join hands together,
we can reach around the globe
and make an incredible impact.
Our way of saying thank you
when you call and join the 700 Club
is to send you Pat's latest teaching,
The I Wills of God, from Psalm 91.
You're gonna love this.
It's really powerful.
In fact, Tracey, who live righthere in Norfolk, Virginia,
said The I Wills of Godis one of the best DVDS
Pat has produced.
While watching the testimonies, tears of joy welled up
as I saw God wield his powerin the lives of his people.
Bravo.
I loved it.
Well it's our gift to youwhen you join the 700 Club
right now, so why don't yougo to your phone and call?
It's 1-800-700-7000.
Just say I want to join the 700 Club.
We say thank you.
Well, still ahead, your questions
and we have some honest answers.
Shirley asks: Do you haveto be an ordained minister
to perform baptism?
Pat's going to weigh in on those issues
and much more, so don't go away.
(dramatic music)
(uplifting classical music)
Welcome back.
It's time to take a lookat the email questions
you've sent in, and Pat, thisfirst one comes from Shirley,
who asks: Can anyone perform a baptism,
or do you have to be an ordained minister?
- I don't see any rule
that says that you have tobe an ordained minister,
but whoever does baptismneeds to understand
what the symbolism is.
I mean the whole thing isyou're buried with Christ
and you're raised in newness of life
and they need to understand that.
It isn't just putting some water on people
or just sprinkling them.
I mean there's somethingthat's serious about it.
But I don't know any requirement
that says you've gottabe ordained to do it.
- This is Anthony, who says:
Early this week, I wasout with some friends.
One thing led to another,
and I wound up at a strip club.
I could not leave, as they were my ride.
Is there anything I can do toabsolve myself of this sin?
- Well, I don't know ifit was a sin, you know.
I think it was Luther who said it's no sin
to have the birds over your head.
It's when you make a nest in your hair
that it's a problem.
I don't know, somebody stripping,
so is that a sin to look at it?
I don't think necessarily it is.
It's a question what'sin your heart and mind.
But if you feel guilty about what you did,
ask God and he'll forgive you.
It's just that simple, okay.
- Okay, this is Chris, who says:
I lost a lot in Las Vegas.
We're talking everything.
I know I should not have beengambling, but I did it anyway.
On top of the financial crisisI've brought upon my family,
I feel like I've brought a strain
upon my relationship with God.
While I work to rectify my money woes,
what can I do to rectify myrelationship with the Lord?
- Well, was it Billy Sunday that said
God will forgive sin,but stupid is forever.
I mean, you know.
Look, we all make stupid mistakes.
I mean some people buy aproperty that you lose money.
You go into the stockmarket, you lose money.
You go to gamble, you go Las Vegas
and you blow a bunch of money.
It's all stupid and it's all,
but it's all forgivable.
God will forgive thatand he'll restore what,
locusts of Eden, generally.
But you can't guarantee allthat money's coming back to you.
You made a stupid mistake.
Believe me, I have.
I know what you're talking about.
You make dumb mistakes withmoney and you lose money.
Well, you can get it back.
Just, you know, the same way it came.
But does God forgive that?
Of course he does.
- You might wanna stayout of the casinos though.
- That's right.
Just stay,- Just saying.
- stay out of casinos and don't think
you're gonna make a bunchof money at the dice tables
or the card tables.
You just won't.
That's a losing game.
Gambling, you'll alwayslose money, always,
so it's easier to take it easy,
a little bite at a time.
By interest and increase, you can gain your money.
All right.
- Okay, this is Shirley, who says:
Hi Pat.
I am 62 and I just receivedmy results from a blood test.
I have high cholesteroland triglyceride levels.
I try to eat healthily and exercise.
I do not want to go on a statin medication
because of the side effects.
Are there any natural or herbalsupplements you know about
that are known to help this condition?
- Well, I think normallyeating is what you do.
Fresh vegetables with a lot offiber is one of the answers.
And I think always stay away from sweets,
stay away from sugar drinks,
stay away from stuffthat's got sugar in it,
and try to avoid a lotof salt and a lot of
anything with sugar.
But go for fresh vegetables, especially those with fiber.
Stuff like beans, forexample, are good for you.
Greens, spinach, kale, that kinda thing.
And you know, that's the best you can do.
What else can you do?
So I think.
But I think you're absolutely right.
You know, we've had a nurse on,
wrote a book about, what does she call it,
vitamin muggers andstatins were one of them.
Statin drugs will lead you with
all kinds of aches and pains
and they do take vitamins away.
And you need CoQ10 to balance statins
and doctors give statinsjust like they're candy
and they're not necessarily good for you.
- Mm-hmm.
This is a viewer who asks:
When someone tells you to, quote,
put your worries andstress in the Lord's hands,
how do you really do that?
- Well, it's just the way it is.
How do you get rid of anything?
I mean you put it down.
Put the burden down.
You know, just thinkof what you're carrying
and you say well I'm carrying this
and I'm worried aboutthat and you name it.
And then I'm worried aboutthis and you name it.
And I'm worried aboutthis and you name it.
And then you say in the name of Jesus,
I renounce these thingsand I put them aside.
But you have to do it consciously
and you do it with your mind.
You're a free, moral agentand you can do things.
You're not just a victim ofchance and go through life.
You can make decisions.
Make a decision to put these things aside.
You have obviously taken on alot of burdens you don't need
so get rid of them andjust say that's how it is.
You say now Lord, I'mgonna give this to you.
All right.
- This is a viewer who says:
I denounced Jesus.
Can I get him back?
- I don't think he ever left you.
I think you renouncedhim, but God is faithful
and he's remembered thefact that he loves you.
But you come to him.
It's always the same way.
You repent.
I did something wrong.
I'm sorry Lord.
Please forgive me.
It's the same thing.
And when you sincerely repent,
God will hear and God will answer.
That's the wonderful thing.
There is forgiveness anda fresh start in the Lord.
That's what we believe as Christians
and I think that's his will.
Well we leave you withtoday's power minute
from the book of James.
Confess your sins to each other
and pray for each otherso that you may be healed.
And tomorrow, we've gota miraculous healing
from something that's hardly ever healed,
Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS, andthis is a miraculous thing.
You don't want to miss it.
For Terry and all of us,we'll see you tomorrow.
Bye-bye.
