- Have potentially damaging charges
in the Mueller Report been suppressed?
That's what majornewspapers are reporting.
Attorney General Barr isnow under intense scrutiny
amid reports that SpecialCounsel Robert Mueller's
findings were moredamaging to President Trump
than Barr indicated in hisfour page letter to Congress.
Democrats are demanding that Barr
release the full unredacted report.
- There's an easy answer to this.
Release the Mueller Reportas soon as possible.
And let me just say, theMueller Report will be released.
- [Dale] The New York Timesand Washington Post report
Mueller's team is frustrated because
they prepared their own summaries
to be shared in their own words
and not in the attorneygeneral's summary of their work.
- I have full confidencein the attorney general
and his assessment.
Let's not forget that thepeople that have been involved
in this process, they've wasted two years
of their life and need tofind a way to validate it.
- [Dale] On Thursday, the attorney general,
who is expected to releasethe entire Mueller Report
with redactions by mid-April,defended his handling
of the 400 page document, saying it contains
sensitive grand jury material.
And Trump ally, Republican Senator
Lindsey Graham wants to see more.
- I want the report to come out publicly
just to let the public seewhat they got for their money.
- [Dale] The president, too, says he's in favor of it.
- Let it come out, let people see it,
that's up to the attorney general.
- [Dale] But Thursday he tweeted,
"There is nothing we canever give to the Democrats
"that will make them happy.
"This is the highest levelof presidential harassment
"in the history of the country."
And as for the New York Times report,
the president also tweeted,
"The New York Times hadno legitimate sources,
"which would be totally illegal,
"concerning the Mueller Report."
Meanwhile, a new battle is brewing
over the President's tax returns.
A House committeechairman has asked the IRS
to provide six yearsof Trump's tax returns
and returns for some of his businesses.
But the president says he's not inclined
to go along with that request.
