Many of you have sent questions
in for our Bring It On segment.
So we want to take a few minutes
to answer some of those today.
This is Karen, Gordon, who
says, "I have recommitted
my life to the Lord, but I'm
going through a very hard time.
I am unemployed for the
second time in three years.
And I'm not at a good age to
be given a chance at a new job.
Neither instance was my
fault when I lost my jobs.
I have anxiety and
depression and fear
and feel God is not
answering any of my prayers.
I have a lot of doubt, and I
really just want to give up.
What do I do?
I feel like God is failing me."
Karen, what you're saying
in terms of anxiety,
depression, and fear-- those
are spiritual at times.
And you need to recognize that
you're in a spiritual battle.
And how do you overcome
spiritual battles?
How do you-- how do you do that?
Well, you can do it through
the word of the Lord.
There's also-- I think
you need to take control
of what you think about.
When you start thinking,
oh no, I lost my jobs.
And there-- there's
no hope for me.
And I'm too old to be employed.
Those thoughts are going to give
rise to feelings of anxiety.
Those thoughts are going
to make you feel fearful.
So take control
of your thoughts.
Here's one for you.
In 6,000 years of recorded
history in the Bible,
God has specifically chosen
you to be the very first person
that He breaks His promise to.
Now when you put
it that way, you
go, no, He hasn't done that!
He hasn't rejected you.
He hasn't said, I'm going
to specifically single
out Karen to be the one
I'm going to fail for.
He's going to support you.
All His promises are
yes and amen for those
who are in Christ Jesus.
Start thinking that way,
that He who has promised
will be faithful and
will be faithful to you.
And He specifically
has called you.
That's why you are in
the Kingdom of God.
He knows you by name.
He knows the very
hairs on your head.
He numbers them all.
He is intimately
concerned with you.
Start thinking that way and see
what happens to that anxiety.
See what happens to that fear.
See what happens
to that depression.
And then, armored with
that-- with those thoughts--
go out and say, how
can I conquer today?
With Christ, I
can do all things.
What's next?
This is Daria who says,
"If to be out of the body
is to be present
with the Lord, then
who are those that are asleep
and will be resurrected when
Jesus returns?"
Daria, this is one of
the great mysteries.
And I don't think there
is any specific answer one
way or another.
You can say that,
OK, it was talking
about the spirit of those.
And so the spirit--
the soul, if you will--
of those who have died is
now present with the Lord
and they all await a
bodily Resurrection.
You can say that.
But it's unclear.
There are so many things that
we don't understand-- that eye
hasn't seen, ear hasn't heard.
It hasn't even entered
into our hearts
what He's prepared for us.
So be encouraged with that.
The best is yet to come.
We leave you this
word from Jeremiah.
"I will refresh the weary
and satisfy the faint."
For Terry, for me, for
all of us-- God bless you.
We'll see you again.
