QUESTION: ISIS, DO YOU KNOW
WHAT ISIS IS?
I DO.
I'VE HEARD OF THEM.
I KNOW IT'S A TERRORIST
GROUP IN THE MIDDLE EAST
SOMEWHERE.
A BUNCH OF THUGS,
TERRORISTS.
THUGS.
MAINLY, I THINK THEY'RE JUST
THUGS.
Reporter: DO YOU KNOW
WHAT ISIS IS?
THE BEVERAGE?
Reporter: NO, NOT A
BEVERAGE.
IT'S A TERRORIST GROUP.
DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ISIS?
I DO.
Reporter: WHAT DO YOU
KNOW?
I KNOW THEY'RE A
TERRORIST GROUP OVERSEAS AND
THEY'RE KIND OF A THREAT
AROUND THE WORLD AND THAT
THEY'RE KILLING CHRISTIANS.
Reporter: ISIS, WHAT DO
YOU THINK OF THAT?
I DON'T THINK VERY MUCH
OF THEM.
Reporter: WHY?
THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS
VIOLATIONS, THE THINGS THAT
HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE
MEDIA.
THEIR TREATMENT OF WOMEN.
THEY'RE BAD.
Reporter: RECENTLY THEY
SAID THEY WERE GOING TO BE
GOING AROUND CREATING
TERRORIST ACTS AND BOMBING
OF MALLS AND SO FORTH.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CONCERN
ABOUT THAT?
THERE IS DEFINITELY A
CONCERN.
A KNOW A WHILE AGO THEY WERE
DOING THE BEHEADINGS.
I WOULD DEFINITELY HATE FOR
IT TO HAPPEN HERE IN OUR
COUNTRY.
BUT IT IS DEFINITELY A
CONCERN.
Reporter: DO YOU HAVE
ANY AP HENGS APPREHENSIONS
OF PEOPLE LIKE THAT?
YES, DEFINITELY.
ESPECIALLY AFTER 9/11 AND
TH THE BOSTON MARATHON
ATTACKS.
Reporter: DO YOU HAVE
ANY CONCERNS ABOUT GETTING
ON AN AIRPORT?
NO.
Reporter: YOU DON'T?
YOU'RE FROM GERMANY?
WELL, I FEEL IT IS SO FAR
AWAY, LIKE, THE PROBLEM.
Reporter: IT IS?
THEY ARE THREATENING SO MANY
COUNTRIES.
THEY WANT TO RULE THE
WORLD.
OF COURSE.
Reporter: YOU DON'T
FEEL FEARFUL OR ANYTHING
WHEN YOU'RE MOVING AROUND,
TRAVELLING AROUND?
NO.
Reporter: WHY NOT?
BECAUSE UNTIL NOW NOTHING
EXTREME HAS HAPPENED TO ME
OR TO GERMANY.
IT IS SCARY.
WHAT THEY'RE DOING IS
BRUTAL.
AND IT IS DEFINITELY
SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU
CONCERNED, AS FAR AS A
THREAT IN OUR COUNTRY.
BUT I'M NOT PERSONALLY
THREATENED BY THAT.
Reporter: YOU'RE NOT.
ARE YOU?
I DON'T KNOW.
I THINK OVERSEAS IS A BIG
THREAT.
WE HAVE A LOT OF GREAT MEN
AND WOMEN PROTECTING US
HERE.
FOR THE MOST PART, I THINK
AS LONG AS WE'RE ON U.S.
SOIL I THINK WE'RE SAFER
THAN ANYWHERE ELSE.
Reporter: DO YOU HAVE
ANY APPREHENSIONS ABOUT THEM
COMING HERE?
NO.
Reporter: NO?
WHY.
I'M DEFINITELY NOT
SCARED.
Reporter: THEY SAID
THEY MAY BLOW UP MALLS AND
ATTACK PEOPLE IN THE
STREETS.
IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME.
Reporter: WHY NOT?
I FEEL A SENSE OF
SECURITY.
I CARRY A GUN WITH ME.
IF SOMEBODY COMES AT ME,
I'LL SHOOT THEM.
IS IT KEEPING ME FROM
GOING OUT IN PUBLIC PLACES?
Reporter: RIGHT.
NO.
OUR COMMUNITY IS AWARE,
AND WE'VE HAD SITUATIONS
WHERE THINGS DON'T LOOK
RIGHT, AND PEOPLE SPEAK UP.
BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO
HAPPEN, WHETHER IT IS ISIS
OR SOMEBODY ELSE.
I KNOW WITH MALL SHOOTINGS,
I'M FEARFUL SOMETIMES TO
TAKE MY KIDS OUT.
BUT AT THE SAME TIME, ARE
YOU GOING TO LIVE LIFE IN
FEAR OR ARE YOU GOING TO
LIVE LIFE AND TRUST THAT
PEOPLE ARE THERE TO PROTECT
YOU.
I'M FEARFUL EVERY TIME I
GO TO NEW YORK AND GET INTO
THE SUBWAY, BUT I CAN'T LET
IT STOP ME.
Reporter: YOU'RE NOT
GOING TO BE INTIMIDATED BY
FEAR?
NO.
THAT'S DEFINITELY WHAT THEY
WANT.
