Saeed Interrogated, Tasered, Threatened with Charges
This week marks the three-year anniversary of American Pastor Saeed Abedini's captivity in an Iranian prison.
Iran is now taking steps to extend his eight-year prison sentence, threatening to file new charges.
This week, Pastor Saeed was interrogated and prison officials repeatedly attacked him with a taser. In the past, Saeed has spent weeks in solitary confinement, been beaten and even denied medical treatment.
Pastor Saeed's wife Naghmeh shares how their nightmare began in 2012 when the Iranian Revolutionary Guards came to take him away. Watch below:
The troubling development comes days after his wife, Nagmeh, met with the U.N. General Assembly, getting 67 members to sign a letter calling for Pastor Saeed's release.
"When will this nightmare end? Saeed is not a criminal," Nagmeh told the American Center for Law and Justice.
"Hearing that yet again the hardliners in Iran are trying to fabricate evidence against my husband and that he was abused and tasered is almost too much to bear," she continued.
Despite the persecution, Naghmeh told CBN News her husband's faith remains strong.
Meanwhile, she continuing efforts to campaign for his release.
