Disney World's New RFID 'MagicBands' Track Guests
Disney World is adding RFID to their theme park locations worldwide.
Under the new program, microchips that use radio frequency identification will be installed in guest wristbands, or MagicBands.
The multinational mass media corporation tested the bands at Disney's "Magic Kingdom" experience in Orlando, Fla., last month.
Guests can use the bands, or MagicBands as Disney calls them, for park tickets, Disney hotel room keys, charge cards, fast passes for rides, and more.
"This collection of tools is another step forward in the ongoing evolution of our guest experience, giving us even more ways to help friends and family create the unforgettable Disney memories that they want most," Disney.com said.
MagicBands also store credit or debit card information for purchases.
