In an interview with NBC's "Today," Jeremy Writebol said his mother's eyes have brightened and she's is even joking a little.
Jeremy said he was worried she wasn't going to make it when she first arrived at Emory University hospital in Atlanta last week.
Now he said the doctors expect his mother to recover, but they haven't elaborated.
The Ebola virus has killed more than 1,000 people so far.
