CBO Projects Nat'l Debt to Continue to Skyrocket

A new government report says the federal debt will keep growing rapidly in the years ahead.
    
The Congressional Budget Office projects the government will keep running deficits over the next decade, adding more than $7 trillion to the national debt.

That would bring the total national debt to nearly $25 trillion.

Spending on health care and retirement programs will drive up government spending and that adds up to higher taxes in the future.
