Superbook Is Shaping Young Hearts in Honduras
In a small community in Honduras, hope and faith are taking root in young hearts. In mid-October, the Superbook team held the first of three planned events at a local school currently under construction by Operation Blessing Honduras as part of a holistic effort to transform communities. Though the building is still unfinished, the lessons shared that day were eternal.
The event featured the episode “Jonah” from CBN Animation’s Superbook—a powerful story of God’s love and mercy toward his creation. Through this adventure, the children learned the first SuperTruth (main lesson takeaway): “God is merciful.” The team began with a relatable dilemma involving Joy and her feelings toward a classmate, sparking discussion about forgiveness and obedience. Then they compared Joy’s attitude with Jonah’s response to God’s mission for Nineveh. This simple yet profound connection helped the children see how God calls us to love others—even when it’s hard.
The lesson didn’t stop there. The children memorized the SuperVerse (memory verse), participated in a fun “connect the dots” activity to reveal a hidden image, and ended the day with prayer and a snack. Before leaving, they were encouraged to review the lesson in preparation for the next visit.
What made this event even more special was the use of a version of Superbook Academy designed for communities with limited internet access. In places like Caulotillo, where internet connectivity is scarce, these resources ensure that children can still experience the life-changing stories of the Bible.
Seventeen children attended this first session, along with one adult—but the impact was far greater than numbers. Each child left knowing that God is merciful, and that he loves them personally.
