The Keys to a Joyful Thanksgiving
A special message from Pat Robertson
In this time of thanksgiving, my heart is filled with gratitude for you, and my prayer is that you and your loved ones will have overflowing joy this holiday season and always.
We find the keys for a heart filled with joy in Psalm 28:7–
The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust Him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
Perhaps today, you are in need of the Lord’s strength. Your situation may seem overwhelming, you may need the protection of His shield, or just to feel His unchanging love for you. Let me assure you, with all my heart, you can trust our wonderful, powerful God.
Your Father in heaven is for you, and He will help you.
You can pour out your heart to Him. His desire is to be in relationship with you. He knows everything about you, and nothing you are feeling or experiencing can separate you from His love.
He has done everything necessary through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, to make you holy and blameless in His sight. As a child of God, you stand before Him today, deeply loved and perfect in Christ. This is true cause for thanksgiving!
This Thanksgiving, many hardworking people in our own nation are experiencing the dread and worry of having little or no food. They’re wondering what they’ll tell their children as the holiday approaches.
I am asking you to join me in our family tradition of giving a special gift, equal to the amount you will spend on your Thanksgiving dinner. This will do so much to help those who are crying out to God for assistance.
Please consider giving a special Thanksgiving gift, which will bring the Gospel and practical help to families, widows, and orphans, through the various outreaches of CBN.
I know that your joy will be increased because of helping others. Just as Psalm 41 promises: Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
This Thanksgiving, my prayer for you is that the joy of the Lord will fill you completely. May He protect you, and shield you as you trust Him with all your heart. And may songs of thanksgiving fill your life and home as you praise the One who loved you and gave Himself for you. God bless you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
