Dear Friends and Partners of CBN,
I have several important reasons for emailing you today. As we see unprecedented turmoil in the nations of the Middle East, I can't help but think of the biblical prophecies that are being fulfilled before our eyes.
Consider the scope of countries and governments in turmoil: Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Syria. Add to this the threat of a nuclear Iran and their pledge to push the Jewish people into the sea. We must ask ourselves: What is going on? Are we witnessing the end of the age?
Muslims in Turkey
In addition, consider the recent happenings in Turkey. Turkey has been a secular nation since the 1920s. But now devout Muslims are increasing in power and there is a movement to convert the present, secular state to Shariah law. In a recent election, 325 seats in the 550-seat Turkish parliament were captured by this group.
Prophecy in the Bible
The Bible is very clear on this point: When Israel has been regathered in the Holy Land, the nations of the world will form a coalition against them, to attack them. Jesus tells us, when this happens we are to lift up our eyes because our redemption is drawing near.

Your Role in God's Purpose
What does this mean to us? The Bible tells us that we are to encourage each other to outbursts of love and good deeds … especially now as the day of His coming back again is drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25).
And so I want to encourage and thank you today for the many good deeds you are making possible through your support of CBN. You are playing a vital role in the Middle East. Just look at some of the ways you are changing eternity for people there:
In Israel, you enable CBN's Operation Blessing to help many people like Gita. She is one of the Holocaust survivors who receives groceries and help that you make possible. You also provide food and assistance to needy children and immigrants as you share God's love with those who have so little. Also, many Muslim people are coming to faith in Jesus Christ through CBN programming.
CBN and our partners have been strong allies of the nation of Israel. Your prayers and gifts make it possible to be an unchanging voice of truth and support for the Jewish people. This is pleasing to God. It is vital that you and I remain steadfast and outspoken in our love for God's people. We must pray that our nation does not pressure Israel to divide Jerusalem and relinquish their land.
If the United States turns against Israel, God Himself will turn against us. It's just that simple. The Bible tells us, He who touches you, touches the apple of His eye. Please join me in praying for the peace of Jerusalem and God's protection for Israel in these perilous times.
Eternal Significance
Lastly, I hope you noticed the verse of Scripture on the top of this Web page. Jesus tells us: Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I want to encourage you in the tremendous work you are doing each day—work that will last for eternity. As you invest your treasure in the kingdom of God through the ministry of CBN, you will reap an eternal reward.
I am asking you today to prayerfully consider giving a special gift at this time so that we may continue to broadcast the Gospel and demonstrate the love of God to this lost and hurting world.
I know beyond a doubt that no matter what wars, calamities, or economic downturns occur, those who have been generous to give to God's work will be taken care of and will be blessed. This is God's promise to His children.
My dear friend, no one knows the day or hour of our Lord's return. But we are to be ready for His glorious appearing. When we see Jesus, will we be ready? Will we have spent our lives on the things that matter for all time? I pray that God will bless you greatly in the days ahead. May your life be filled with His purposes and may you be richly rewarded at His coming.
