What Newly Released Medical Records Reveal about Candidates' Health
In the wake of the controversy over Hillary Clinton's bout with pneumonia, both candidates are releasing their medical records to the public.
The Trump campaign released a letter from his doctor, Thursday, outlining the results from his latest physical--the same information he had previously shown the host of the "Dr. Oz Show."
According to Trump's long time doctor, Harold N. Bornstein, the republican presidential candidate is, "In excellent physical health."
The one-page letter from Dr. Bornstein lists trump's blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, choesterol and several other numbers. Trump's body mass index is in the overweight range and he takes a drug for lowering cholesterol but the doctor says that overall that is not a concern.
Hillary Clinton's campaign is also providing more medical records--including new information about her pneumonia diagnosis and general health.
A letter from Clinton's doctor says the Democratic presidential nominee was diagnosed with mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia.
"She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest. She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the United States," Dr. Lisa Bardack said.
Both candidates are back on the campaign trail Thursday, with Trump set to make a speech on the economy at the Economic Club of New York.
Clinton, meanwhile, will spend the day in one of the key swing states in the election, North Carolina.
National polls show a very tight race, including in battleground states. According to a new CNN/ORC poll, Trump has pulled ahead of Clinton in both Ohio, where he now leads by five points, and in Florida, where he has a three-point lead.
Still, the race has already taken several twists and turns and more may be ahead, especially with all three presidential debates yet to come.
