Suicide Car Bomb Kills Six Jordanians, Injures 14

Six Jordanians were killed and 14 wounded early Tuesday morning when a car bomb launched from the Syrian side of the border exploded meters from two refugee camps.

Four Jordanian border guards, a civil defense worker and a national security officer were killed, according to the Jordanian military, which described the 5:30 a.m. suicide bombing as a "cowardly terrorist attack."

"This cowardly terrorist attack only adds to the Jordanian armed forces' resolve and determination to fight terrorism and the terrorists and their dark ideology," an official statement read.

More than 60,000 Syrian refugees living in the two camps near the border where Iraq, Syria and Jordan meet have been waiting to enter Jordan.
