Hackers Replace ISIS Terror Propaganda with Viagra Ads
Hackers from an off-shoot of the group Anonymous are following through with their threat to wage a cyber war on ISIS.
According to a report from the Jerusalem Post, programmers from the hacking team, GhostSec, recently overran a website linked to ISIS supporters with ads for the erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra, and the anti-deppressant, Prozac.
The ads reportedly facilitated the purchase of the drugs using the digital currency Bitcoin.
Before the website was shut down, it appeared on the so-called "dark web," where sites are publicly visible but unable to be found using search engines.
Reuters reports that Anonymous has already identified more than 39,000 suspected Islamic State profiles and reported them to Twitter. It claims to have more than 25,000 of these accounts suspended.
