It Was an Emergency! Her Hernia was the Size of a Lemon!

Nine-year-old Olivia was born with an hernia, which has limited her ability to run and play as other children do. “I did not like to run or jump. My hernia got big. It scared me. And I did not like how it looked.” Her mother first noticed the lump during a bath. Then over time it got bigger.  “Sometimes it grew to the size of a lemon. When I would press on it, it went away, then it came back. It looked like it could burst,” recalled her mom, Fernanda.

Doctors diagnosed the condition and told the family she needed surgery. But they were too poor to pay for the operation. “We’ve been saving for over a year, but we don’t have enough,” said Fernanda.

So Olivia and her sister decided to pray, with help from a little prayer book. “They would read that little book every day. It gave them hope!” said Fernanda.

Then thanks to YOU, Operation Blessing paid for Olivia to receive the surgery needed to repair the hernia. “I’m happy because I do not have a hernia anymore,” said Olivia. “I can run, jump and play with my sisters. I can do everything!”

Olivia’s parents confirmed that they’ve seed big changes in their daughter after the operation.

“This surgery has changed everything for us,” said Fernanda. “Thank God, He did His work and sent you to help our little girl.”

“Thank you to all the people who paid for my surgery. Thank you!” added Olivia.
