He Was at the End of His Career, and End of His Hope…Until God

Everyone dreams of becoming an All-Star, of doing something that turns their name into a legacy. There’s something about being at the top of your game, knowing people recognize your name and everything you’ve worked for has finally paid off. But eventually, that season has to end.

For Greg Hendricks, the end of his basketball career left him facing a reality he hadn’t expected. On the outside, it looked like he had everything he could want. He had the girls, the weed, a job, and the freedom that came with the life he had built for himself.

But none of it seemed to satisfy him.

After leaving football, Greg found himself at a small resort in Washington, and instead of feeling accomplished, he felt empty. The things that once gave him excitement no longer seemed to matter. No matter what he chased, there was still something missing.

It was as if he were more hollow than alive.

The void in his heart had grown so deep that Greg eventually found himself doing something he never thought he would: talking to a friend about church.

His friend didn't give him a long speech or try to convince him of anything. He simply sent Greg a link to a church service.

Greg clicked it.

The pastor he watched was Miles McPherson, an evangelist, and after watching a series of messages, he was hooked. For the first time, Greg was hearing something that spoke directly to the emptiness he had been carrying.

Then, one night at 2:30 a.m., still at that resort in Washington, something shifted.

Greg jumped out of his seat, stood there in the middle of the night, and gave his life to Christ.

The life he had been chasing hadn't made him whole. But in that moment, he found something he hadn't been able to find anywhere else.

What happened next was nothing short of a miracle. The lies Greg had believed about himself began to unravel, replaced by a new understanding of who he was and who God had created him to be.

This is his story, from hollow to whole, from death to life
