An Adamant Agnostic Says He Came Face to Face with Jesus

It should have been a normal day for Randy Kay. But after getting home, he woke up around 3 a.m. with a mysteriously sore calf.

“Maybe I strained my muscle?” he thought. So he decided to exercise it by riding his bike. Little did he know, something far more serious was happening inside his body.

His calf continued to swell, and after going to the doctor, Kay suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the ER, where doctors discovered seven blood clots, including one blocking the pulmonary artery, the main artery carrying blood from the heart to the lungs. Then he suffered a seizure, and his body went still.

What happened next is the part Kay says changed everything.

He describes feeling himself being pulled by a light and seeing his body below him. Then he cried out the name of Jesus Christ and suddenly found himself face to face with a figure he instantly recognized as Jesus.

His first thought? “So this is love.”

Kay says he felt completely known, yet somehow loved and worthy in the presence of Jesus. Then Jesus looked into his eyes and whispered two words that would stay with him long after the experience was over:

“Trust me.”

Those two words have guided Kay ever since, shaping his life and ministry and giving him a message he believes every believer needs to hear: “We have grossly underestimated the love of God.”
