She’s on a Mission to Share the Bible
Terri Hurst of Duncan, Oklahoma loves her community. She works at the local post office and enjoys serving customers there.
“I like working in Duncan because the people are so friendly and accommodating. If you had a problem, they would come to your aid and help you, even if they didn't know you.”
Terri knows how important support during hard times can be. In 2023, when her marriage was ending, Terri was watching the 700 Club.
She heard someone mention the prayer ministry and decided to call for prayer.
“I called the prayer line and the gentleman prayed with me. It was a good experience, and I felt better after he prayed.”
It was then Terri decided to become a CBN partner.
‘“I've always enjoyed watching CBN, and I like where they show the testimonies of people that's given their heart to God. My favorite part is at the end where they have the word of knowledge and then a follow-up episode will show the actual person that said, ‘Hey, that was me!’ It's just pretty amazing. I was always impressed with Operation Blessing and the fact that they bless and they support Israel. I like the way Operation Blessing goes in after the hurricanes and the floods, and they help people and they give people hope and show that God loves them.’”
Terri says the program inspires her to do all she can to reach people in her own community. For the last few years, she’s been distributing Bibles to homeless ministries, prisons and others in need. In 2025, she formed a non-profit organization that distributes Bibles and scripture guides to people in her area.
“I just think that they need to know that there's somebody there that cares. I feel like getting the word in their hearts is the most important thing. I believe as they read the Bible and the word gets in their heart that God will help them with whatever they need.”
In addition to partnering with CBN, Terri has faithfully tithed for over fifty years. When it comes to giving, she sees it as a responsibility and also a blessing.
“We don't give to get, but it's a privilege we get to give. I don't believe that God blesses his people just to put it away. I believe God's blessed you, you need to find something, some kind of way to minister to others and to do something. We should do what we can in our local church and in our community, but we should also support a successful ministry that's able to go overseas and do things like that. CBN is always a good choice.”
Terri loves the mission of CBN and trusts the ministry to use her money wisely.
‘“It's a good decision to be a part of CBN where they're doing it on such a larger scale and reaching more people and by partnering with them monthly you're a part of what they're doing, you're a part of the Israel ministry and Operation Blessing. You're a part of whatever they have their hands in. I think someday we're gonna be shocked in heaven when there's people we personally never met, but we're told, ‘Hey, you made a way for us to do this for this person.’ I just don't feel like you can go wrong.”’
