Her Diet Left Her Miserable, Her Freedom Showed up on The TV Screen
Christine Sheetz has had to deal with chronic indigestion her entire life.
“When I was a little girl, I had massive digestive issues,” Christine explained. “I used to sit there and beg my grandma to read to me to try to distract me from the terrible agony that I was in while I was going through that very rough season.”
Her digestion issues meant Christine had to abstain from certain foods
“When I was a child, it was just primarily dairy, but the older I got, it became more and more things,” She said. “That was definitely a huge struggle.”
Later she developed grand mal seizures requiring brain surgery and an even stricter diet.
“After the brain surgery is when the digestive issues really, you know, got to a breaking point,” Christine explained. “My whole entire life I've enjoyed eating very spicy, savory foods, But thereafter, um, I found out they were doing massive harm to my digestive system and causing a great deal of intestinal inflammation and actually also an ulcer too. So I had to cut those foods out of my diet, which was very challenging and difficult.”
No longer able to enjoy flavorful food, Christine slipped into a deep depression. Even her faith couldn’t pull her out at times
“I truly felt like I was abandoned and betrayed by God at the time,” she said. “Here I am already living the straight and narrow. Other people are enjoying their lives and, you know, doing what I long to do and, you know, God, what about me? Why not me?”
Despite no change to her condition, she continued to pray for her digestion issues to be resolved. One morning she turned on the 700 club, and heard a word of knowledge that she felt was for her.
Gordon Robertson shared, “There's someone, you've got your hand over your belly, and i think there's multiple problems. And it's like your abdomen is distended because of the problems within your digestive system, and I think your liver's involved as well. God is healing you, and he's cleansing out all of that and making you new again. In Jesus’ name, be healed and be made whole. What you couldn't do before, do now in Jesus’ name.”
“I definitely lifted my hands, and I said, you know, ‘Praise you Lord, thank you.’ This is for me.,’” Christine said. “I definitely feel that that was the moment when Gordon prayed for me that it changed for the better”
Two months later Christine returned to her doctor. He was surprised to see that her ulcer was completely gone. With her now healed, the doctor said she could once again eat the food she loved.
“I felt like, you know, pretty much a weight lifted off me,” She said. “ Through the grace of God, he was speaking to me, the word was for me, and he did heal me and set me free of the digestive issues, the constipation, and some of the dietary restrictions that I had prior. He answered my prayers, he obviously reassured me that he has not abandoned me or forsaken me. Glory to God, he also blessed me with some of the desires of my heart by, you know, by allowing me to eat what I desire.”
