Finding Freedom After Two Decades of Spiritual Struggle

Shortly after her marriage, Sona became sick. She not only became worse physically, but she also started to experience spiritual attacks.

Sona explained, “I felt immense anxiety and restlessness. It seemed like I wouldn't be able to stand. My body would ache. I started to feel like I was going mad.”

Desperate, her family sought intervention with spiritual healers.

Sona said, “I would give all the cash they asked for. They would also ask for sacrifices. Some asked for a goat, some asked for a rooster. My hope of ever getting better was shattered.”

Sona lived this way for more than 20 years. Then one day, she connected with a Christian woman on the phone. The woman asked if she could pray for Sona.

“So, she prayed, and I slept peacefully the whole night. There was no anxiety, no restlessness,” said Sona.

During this time, she returned to her religious practices and fell ill again. Then she discovered the CBN prayer line. 

“When I prayed with them, I felt relief. I felt peaceful and better,” said Sona. “They told me about Jesus Christ, asking, ‘Do you believe?’ I said, ‘Yes.’”

The prayer line agent encouraged her to watch CBN’s daily Hindi show to understand more about faith in Jesus.

Sona said, “I learned God has loved us so much that He gave His life for us, endured so much suffering, wore a crown of thorns for us.”

Sona became a regular viewer and also began attending a local church. 

“Lord Jesus Christ changed me, changed my husband too, and my sons as well,” exclaimed Sona. 

Today, Sona is a Christian believer and is healed physically and spiritually, and her family has accepted Jesus too. 

Sona said, “If Jesus Christ wasn't in our lives, we wouldn't all be saved. Lord Jesus has given us life. He has given us a new life. We have got deliverance, peace, and joy.”
