She Felt Led to Take Her Giving to the Next Level
“I love horses,” says Christine, “and my ministry is out of the racetrack. Our goal is to meet the spiritual needs of the horsemen and their family on the backside.”
Christine Stiles is the president of the Remington Park Chaplaincy of Oklahoma, sharing the love of Christ with the horse racing community there. She says, “It's about serving and loving, no matter who they are, no what they look like or anything. Just like in our church services, they come straight from the barn and they've got, they smell like horses. Well that's good, I love it, that's my contribution to God and His ministry because that's what we're put here for.”
Along with giving her time and resources to the horse track ministry, Christine also gives to CBN. “I watch CBN every day,” she says, “and it blesses me to see all the things the CBN is doing for others. I see where they give, free operations to the little, babies with the cleft palate and of course, heart conditions and everything. So I started giving.”
Christine says it touches her heart to know her money is helping so many people in need. “You know there are boots on the ground like the one in Texas of the flood and all these other ones that they support. I know they're involved a lot overseas, here in the United States also, I've seen them where they've roofed people's houses and paid off cars and things like that, it’s a blessing.”
During a recent telethon Christine increased her support to the 700 club gold level. Being on a fixed income, at first she questioned if it was the right decision. She says, “I thought, can I afford that? You know, can I afford that? And then I thought, you know what? The Lord's going to take care of me. He promises that he'll take care of us.”
Almost immediately she felt God honored her faith. “My husband Louis hadn't been able to do anything because of his back surgery. And we were strapped.” She says, “a few days later we got a check from a reimbursement from insurance. And I said, praise the Lord. I said I thought in my mind, ‘See, I told you, the Lord's going to take care of you.’ because that old enemy, he comes to you and says, ‘Oh, you know, you're going to do this, you're, you're not going to make it.’ But you know what? God's bigger than him. I believe that with all my heart.
Christine encourages others to trust the Lord with their finances and partner with CBN to spread God’s love to the world. “And you'll be blessed beyond measure,” she says, “that's happened to me many times. Not just this time that I'm talking about. Many times. And I say that was God. I know it was, and I wouldn't have it any other way.”
