Sasha Finds Joy and Friendship at a Superbook Camp
Olexandra, affectionately known as Sasha, is a 9-year-old girl from Ukraine who has faced significant challenges at a young age. Due to the war in Ukraine, Sasha and her mother were forced to leave their home, finding refuge in a small village in the Myrhorod district. This new environment was unfamiliar and foreign to Sasha, leaving her feeling lonely and sad.
Six months ago, Sasha’s mother learned about the Superbook Club through friends, and since Sasha had always loved watching Superbook, she knew it would be good for Sasha to attend. However, Sasha was very reserved and shy, which made it difficult to make new friends.
When the head of the Superbook Club invited Sasha to attend a camp, she hesitantly agreed. At first, Sasha remained shy and reluctant to engage with others. But as the days passed, she started participating in games, competitions, and various events. Sasha particularly enjoyed creative activities such as drawing and making crafts, which allowed her to express her feelings and connect with new friends.
The support from her camp leader and new friends made Sasha feel like part of a big, friendly family. On the last day of the camp, a special event was held where each child wrote their sins on pieces of paper, which were then solemnly burned. This act symbolized purification from negative thoughts and actions, and it had a profound impact on Sasha. She prayed a sinner’s prayer, accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Sasha is just one of millions of children whose lives have been changed for the better thanks to Superbook and CBN Animation. If you would like to help CBN continue to use animation to reach young lives like Sasha with the Gospel, use the link below to donate to CBN Animation’s Superbook ministry.
